  4. Thanks very much. I'm desperately trying to get this finished for the UK G6 at the end of may and rapidly running out of time... Anyway, I made a simple spare wheel mount. Not the best, but it will do just fine. I do have a tire strap to fit on which will make it look a little better. Etch primered this pile of metalwork ready for the top coat. And, finally made up a simple winch bumper. Test fitting the Warn winch. And here's how it looks on the truck. I wanted to improve the approach angle as much as possible, so I recessed the winch into the grille as much as I could. Next up should finally be the painting. I've already made a start on the interior, wheel wells and the flatbed. Pics to follow... Thanks for looking.

  9. That's Bag A done. Rear end pretty much assembled. Optional part 50529 was purchased to replace the alloy idel and drive gear, these can be seen on the left, which will be replaced with the parts on the right. To my surprise the kit was included with steel dogbones and not the usual plastic end bones as per previous Manta Ray releases. Guess I won't be needing these now

  13. Hi All, My son wants to start racing and I am looking at trying to get him a short course truck. I have been looking at the following but really struggling with what to go with. Helion ECX Team Associated Losi Now the later 2 are expensive, and i can't find any kicking around second hand, I have been looking to get a Slash for myself but literally nobody runs one at the club and everything i mention the slash people look at me with strange expressions, as if im just a total idiot. Anyway, what do people think I should go with, he is going to break it, no doubt about it and to be fair he will probably give up after 6 weeks swell so id like to be able to move it on if need be. Your advice would be great. Thanks guys Rob

  14. So just last week was the latest China hobby expo, a midsize expo wth around 60,000 visitors. All the usual major players are there! Personally I prefer the Japanese Shizuoka hobby expo, but still worth a watch if you're bored /on a brew brea

  15. Last few bits arrived for the MTe refurb, busy weekend but got a bit more done. Last niggly bit is the 6 million M3x12mm button heads that hold the plastics to the chassis - radio tray etc.

  17. that's what I don't understand, hobbywing said no 12s in distant future, is that no esc or no esc till ztw proven?
    1 point
  18. Well, either way, I'm looking forward to seeing some proper running vids of this in the next month. Maybe FID will do a decent promo.

  19. maybe they will in time once product is proven - don't want to risk the hobbywing name on a new product

  20. Yeah, I get what you're saying, but if you look at the rebranded Max8 (I think) in an Arrma car and there are differences, only two beeps on start up and very little programming options. I just wondered if these had bits deleted as well.

  21. that's interesting, so how come hobbywing wont be selling ZTW 12s esc branded as hobbywing?

  22. I will let you know works very well on 10s in the vid of losi 5, runs cool, he drives it hard too, on saying that, I knackered 2 max 5's so might not be the best bloke to advise

  26. As always excellent work its a real shame that the chassis is still not brick pack friendly. are you planing on a alloy steering kit? Biggest issue I had running that chassis

  29. _. Make sure you are running proper (not worn out) tires. The rubber on all 4 corners is the most important factor of your setup. _. Next thing to check is Droop. If you have a lot of front droop, all your weight is being shifted to the rear when you are on the throttle, unloading weight from the front tires, so your steering is mostly gone. Remember, front and rear droop settings is a great way to balance on and off power traction. _. Ride height. Raise the rear of your car. Make sure the car front is 2 - 3 mm lower than the rear. _. Springs and oil can also affect front and rear weight transfer on and off the throttle. If you put on super soft springs and light oil, you will get a ton of weight transfer front and back, amplifying on-power understeer and off power oversteer. Try thicker oil and/or stiffer springs at the rear = more on power steering. _. Stand the Rear Shocks up straighter. Hope this helped you and gave you some new ideas.

  34. I’m not looking to spend mega money on any one part except for a set of nice wheels, so £20 here, £30 there, I’m looking to do a comprehensive build though, but by buying parts wisely... I will say i do fancy a set of Vanquish Currie Antirock sway bars on the rear though, I think they look the absolute dogs wotsits lol
