apart from the body magnets letting go that was going well and has a fair turn of speed as well :good:

Its turned out to be a decent rally car 👍🏻 be even better with a set of stock body posts fitted

Cheers mate 🍻

A a few clips from todays run 👍🏻
Couldn’t drive it as hard as I wanted to with the magnetic body mounts but still a decent first test ,  a set of stock body posts have been ordered.

That looks like fun.

It’s huge! Bigger than the WR8 and pretty much the exact same size as the Traxxas Rally model. Wonder if the Traxxas shel would fit?

After checking I think it would 👍🏻 Also so would this one https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/delta-plastik-5000-toyota-celica-rally-rc-car-body-for-traxxas-rally-325mm-wb-1344314

Thats a bargain when you think what some of the £200 builds are in comparison! I think that’ll be brilliant!

Depending on how it handles I think you might be right, would look tasty with the Celica body fitted 👍🏻
I own the XT truggy version which has been decent as long as you don’t go too wild  so will hold up fine  as a rally car, it’s a shame the stock body isn’t something licensed I would of bought one asap.

8 body holes and 5 chassis’s later, I’ve managed to force the 205 body on 😅

Could only get it to fit the HPI with  the bumper foam removed and a bit of work to the wheels/ tyres .

Had to cut away most of the inner plastic support webbing to get them to clear the suspension arm’s.

Also had to sand away the outside edge of the tyres so they’d fit under the arches.

Sounds fun. Quite glad I didn’t end up trying to get one of those for the tb05 as it sounds like I would have needed to go and buy another chassis to go with it.

The problem is there’s not enough body after the front arch to clear the front bumpers, you’d have to cut or remove the actual plastic bumper from the chassis.

If you still fancy a 205 though then the Controlfreax body will be fine, it has loads more room with the way the front end has been done .👍

I’ve managed to spend a couple of hours with the screwdrivers tonight and have got a fair bit of the TB05 back together now. Got to the point where I need to start installing the electrics so will need to stick an order in with modelsport before going any further to get a new brushed ESC.

So far I’ve found one missing part from what I got in the box and managed to strip from the chassis as it arrived. Luckily I managed to find something the same size on one of the trees from the XV01 kit so it hasn’t stopped progress. I still might see about ordering up some shims to dot around the suspension mounts as there is a bit more play on the arms than I would expect on a fancy kit.

Ground clearance isn’t looking brilliant with the road tires mounted up; only getting around 12mm front and back. Will check again once I get some rally blocks on as they should help a bit but anything else may require cutting the chassis and getting creative with the shocks.
