It's a little pricey sure..... but it looks like a nice little model, and its not a common thing to find.

Would like to see some video of it in action, especially going into water, as the real thing was pretty poor at it. Very little free-board, meant they would only work in flat calm water, and it was one of those ideas that were not such an attractive proposition in the real world.

Will sit nicely alongside the 1/16 tank models so I think will be popular.

Very true, but still loads better than the allies GPA Jeeps they were shocking!

A friend has one of each (he’s one of those sorts of people) - his GPA was borrowed to make moulds from by the production team of the last Indiana Jones film, they actually made the repro hulls wider for more stability so that all the actors didn’t drown 😂

They have actually got the flaotation spot on...thats pretty much where the real ones were at in terms of freeboard....

They have also reproduced the propellor thing nicely too. The real thing drove from a take-off on the crank, so they have done a pretty god job of detail on this. It's even got the real world issue of getting out of the water, where the front wheels don;t get enough grip when the prop stops driving it forward.

  • 1 year later...

Hi ,

I have just purchased a Torro Schimmwagen  second hand . The remotes power button flashes and emits  a beeping noise . Battery recharged and new batteries put in the remote in case its a low battery warning. Issue has not stopped . Nothing in the instruction manual to provide guidance . Advices appreciated .

Thanks',

Tankenstein .
