It would seem I was right. Looks like it will be similar to the cen reaper.

Chassis wise I hope so

So the Xmaxx is still the King of the Trucks, what a wasted opportunity 😂

We could be wrong, its could be bigger than the X with Hoobywing 12s electrics, but I honestly cant see it being anything special. Its called the “Hyper Plus II’ I dont even remember a “I” but that suggests its similar to what is already in their range.

Man what a bummer looks like just an extended chassis 🙁. Hope I’m wrong as this could have been so much more, maybe it’s cen reaper size but even then it would be no different from a stretched out savy.

Looking like the X Maxx still retains the top spot 🤣👍

Traxxas get so much hate (rightfully so in some instances!) but they seem to be the only ones who can pull off the Xmaxx.

This Hobao is such a disappointment :( its VERY Savage XL FLUX, guessing the previous MTe was similar?

thats the same power system as the previous one.

The shocks look bigger though. and has aluminium shock towers.

Also no tvp brace still so the chassis will be extra bendy XD

The Hyper MT Plus was the MT with a different shell and wheels, it was nothing special imo

they did also update it to include the slipper and the 5mm drive shaft and new drive cups as well? or was that later?

The slipper was an aftermarket add on

Didn't these eat spur gears?

Yes they where made from pot cast metal total crap unless you got the cnc cut one or the add on slipper which included the cnc one

This one still has those stupid bloody rear hubs as well which where a pita !

This is a Savage flux with XL TVPs, XL Axles and offset wheels. This is pretty much the dimensions I expect the Hobao to be compared to an Xmaxx. Im hopefully wrong

might be something like this.

It is pretty much a stretched 1/8 MT.  There are changes (beyond the toy grade blue) - note the metal gearbox mounting and also shock tower to TVP braces.  I think I saw the wheel hexes are 20mm too...  The chassis itself looks thicker, but it may just be an optical issue.

I'm a big hobao fan, if you didn't know, but this is a miss from me.

You can see the chassis braces in here, but also I'd forgot they'd said centre diff..... rather than a gearbox.  This was greeted with some enthusiasm amongst MT owners - I'm not that sure myself.  I can say the implementation of said centre diff looks an overly complicated work around - but without one in front of me I'll refrain from further comment.  Basically the motor pinion drives a spur on a layshaft, which turns another layshaft which turns a spur on the centre diff.  Said centre diff being the case and internals from the good ol Hyper 7.  I knew I did wrong talking to Hobao about how well the H7 coped with 6s power...

Exploded view (poor) here:

See what you mean about the Centre Diff, why have they made it so over complicated? Motor pinion to the diff is all it needed surely?

Ill concede theres a lot more changes than I expected, but the shell is too small and what the hell is that wheelie bar all about? It looks like a rolling pin!

Any news on price?

500 euro for the 80% roller, 700 for the RTR.  I'd expect 1:1 parity in £ with CML probably having leeway to shave some off.
