Another Traxxas stunt, pull parts off one, put it onto another, call it new and whack the price sky high

If you already own another or intend on getting another Traxxas product  interchangeable parts is brilliant imo. It’s not like there the only company that do it, that includes whacking the price up ;)

Correct and I say the same about the others, including HPI, which I own, the Baja hasn't really changed for years.

But this is a Traxxas thread so I commented on the Traxxas in question ;)

I bought an E-Revo back in the day when Modelsport were knocking them out for 300 quid, Sold the battery's,ESC,Motors and Servos, and radio gear,So rolling chassis set me back about 150 quid.

Converted  it to brushless,  Thought I would like it, But never did, Seemed to fragile, Over engineered, To creakyJust had no character, Sold it, It still does nothing for me.

I just can't get by the price, As a RTR I can't see it being cheaper than current model which is silly money as it is at 650, So if they start asking 400 for a roller, I'll have a RTR Arrma  for 450 thank you very much.

You might want to hurry up as unless someone picks up Arrma it will go bust with Hobbico though ? It’s a very uncertain future for Arrma at the minute along with a few other companies all owned by Hobbico

With this in mind I’d be more tempted to buy the Revo myself

And therein lies part of the reason why we find ourselves  in the position we have been in for so many years, The roller can come in at 400, 450 quid, People here will still buy it, The XMaxx can go up to near on a grand, And people hear will still buy it, And Traxxas know that, They know the buying trends of individual country's , They have no reason to swallow exchange rate changes or reduce prices's , Due to past buy trends they know we'll pay what they ask, And they know we'll do all the swallowing.

I mean, HobbyKing can deliver this to my door for less than 160 quid, So it's not much to ask Traxxas to do a bit of swallowing every now and then.

Can you still get them at £160?

The reason Im pro Traxxas is parts are ridiculously easy to get. Its getting a struggle for every other manufacturer

Well im actually going for both now sod it you only live once in this life lol

In the past I’ve bitched and moaned about the price of rc’s but honestly what’s the point, I’m not going to change anything on my own same as you. Sadly there’s zero chance of folks clubbing together and boycotting brands to make them listen. So if your happy to buy from Hobbyking and you think that’s the better deal crack on  :good:

life is just too short to worry about stuff you can’t do bugger all about. If they turn out to be a pig I’ll sell them on, do I feel robbed no as it’s something I want but I will shop round for the best deal for me  :good:

Yep, I've already got one and it's been pretty good so far, To the point I feel like buying another.

Parts are probably the biggest problem, The number one things that break seem to be the hardest to get, i:e The wishbones, But I bought the RTR for 250 quid, So was worth the gamble.

I also looked at it that even if I had to wait for something, I've got other cars I can use.

The next thing I'll pick up will be the Sabertooth,  You could pick up the ARR for just under £160 3 or 4 weeks ago, A 160 quid, Should have just bought it .

The parts thing worries me, Ive had a few models that were greta but parts were an issue to obtain (RB ONE R for example) and I always felt I couldnt enjoy the model to its fullest?

I have this same issue. I am happy to bash my traxxas cars as I know I can get parts.

If Arrma survive then I hope they improve their parts support in the UK.

If they don't then traxxas won't have any reason to sharpen up their prices.
