Tamiyacowboy
a tuned pipe is paramount. STAY AWAY from the box type mufflers . you want a cigar shape style tuned pipe ( depending on engine size/ mainfold) as your upgrading the acoustics of the exhaust system you may also want to look into letting the engine breath better, so away with the stock, Air filtering system and also replace this with a race filter system, less the engine struggles sucking in air and fuel the better the engine will becomes. most stock airfilters are restrictive when allowing the engine to breath, they are fitted with big close cell foam that get wet/damp and clogged up quick. a tuned pipe , affets the mid and high range of the rpm on engine. you will hear a more rich ting ting sound from a tuned pipe. on a low grade pipe or box type muffler system the tone will be more shallow and deep more a burr burr. Dont go mad, a new pipe and breathing system will make the truck have more power. its going to start to really fly when she hits a sweet rpm range and will just take off,

wolfie1
Well an 053 pipe is good for torque and an 086 is better for top end, hope this helps

I'm curious how the exhaust make a diffrence in performance if anyone knows? and how much difference?
tomr
Dont how they work but they do lol You can see and feel the extra power a good pipe gives your engine they are well worth investing in. I have a jp-3,jp-4 and a Hong Nor bigbore pl-810 and out the three the hong nor gives the best perfomance on my 28 engine
collective itch
They change the power band and power delivery, by altering the back pressure to the cylinder, which is very important in two strokes, especially little ones like we use in models.
