Got it running for the first time!!

One I finally got the idiot bearing to catch it started easily! After that it was incredibly easy to start however the thing wouldn’t run properly without the glow plug igniter in it. The plug looks and seems to work great so I’m wondering whether it’s jus too rich! I reset it to factory settings btw. Seems to sound good despite having one of those weird dual exhausts. It’ll rev and sound amazing but I’ve sorta run out of space on msuk so i could only include one rev. It also doesn’t particularly want to run on the ground. You can see the wheels spinning on my hi-tec brick car stand. Any ideas? Thanks to anyone and everyone who reads this meaty paragraph!

if it doesnt run without the igniter on the glo plug then glo plug is more than likely knacked

Stock needle settings are a guide. It will be rich, if it is a new engine then it needs to be broken in. If it is used then lean HSN first then LSN, however you may need to lean the LSN to keep it running without glow starter. Video isnt viewable.

Thanks mate! It’s most certainly not a new engine but it hasn’t been run for a while so I just reset it to factory settings. Thanks for the advice regarding the glow plug. The vid works for me if you wait like 10 really long seconds lol

check you have the little copper washer on the glowplug also, it might be sitting to low also worth checking your fuel is fresh and high enough nitro content for the engine and plug

fitted new wheels and tires to the hyper st.

 

 

then i added some lights to the tamiya ta04-s and the corally triton 🙂

 

 

 

now i can see them on dark winter nights 🙂

since last run out with injora rock buggy i have been trying to get a set of shocks on it that work sweet and smooth, finally got it after rebuilding various shocks i have in spares so these are from my FS racing SCX10 and work just how i want, plenty of articulation and smooth with out being oversprung pogo sticks

i was silly and made my konghead silly but more fun and insane by putting in a old brushless system with a 3900kv motor lol

 

one handed driving so didnt get to full speed.

 

edit : once dads over his cold ill get a proper video of it running that brushless set up, it is doing silly stuff but handling pretty well, definatly more advanced than a lunch box in design and can do wheeleys etc if i make it, i noticed theres a wheely bar on a sprue that the manual says is unused for the kong head instead of the back bumper i think, might be time to use it lol

 

oh and the kong head survived and was a tense but very enjoyable ride, i scraped some paint of one of the chrome exhausts but that is all 🙂

then i thought i would give the dt-02 some love and put in a brand new max 10 system 4000kv.
