  1. That's pretty much where my thoughts have ended up. It's not terrible but complicates the servo mounting / brake actuating a little. On - off is fine as the proper hooliganism is an all or nothing affair in my experience. 😁 I'm going to model something up in CAD and see how sketchy it is...
  2. My son (5) struggles with a pistol grip and car / boat stick controller as he's not quite big enough yet. However, he's really happy using just one stick of a 6 channel aero remote as you can put lefty-righty & forwards-backwards on one stick.
  3. I've got 2 Blazes, one Super Croc 30 cc 2 speed: It's very nice condition with a few trick aluminium bits. I've given it a run up the road and it goes really well. I've also got a 23 cc single speed in generic flavour: I've run this one too. Again, it goes really well and is colossal fun. It's got a cut out in the shell for a snazzy exhaust but only has the standard one fitted. I'm looking for £350 for the 30 cc and £300 fior the 23 cc.
  4. Nah, just some old HiTec unit. One dat I might splash out on something more ritzy but not yet
  5. I've had an idea... After I had a little lie down to get over the pain I considered it some more and can't quite decide if it's easily possible or not. I have an FG 1:5 touring car that I've put disc brakes all round on. I'd like the front and rear brakes to function as normal i.e. when I prod the TX trigger forwards. What I'd also like to do is use channel 3 to activate the rear brakes only so I can do some sweet handbrake turns and the like. If it were something DC I would just bung in a diode but with a PWM signal I can't think of an easy way of doing it - I'd probably have to split the signal with an ESP32 or something. Is there something commercially available that would do the trick or am I doomed to writing some code or having to use the front & rear brakes independently? Cheers, Fro
  6. Fitted my DIY "Fuelpipe2000" to the Maverick MT: I probably should have made it from ABS but the PLA was already in the printer and I was feeling a bit lazy.
  7. Nice. I'll get some on order. Cheers chaps!
  8. Nicely done! Shame they're discontinued though. Are the DumboRC ones alrightish?
  9. Hi everyone, I've got these transmitters and would like to get a bunch of receivers for them: Helpfully, there's nothing in the way of manufacturer or part number. I realise these are cheap junk but I just want something for testing purposes and these would be fine. I did have a functioning receiver for the one on the left but there was an incident and it no longer works. Does anyone know what they are / what's work with them or even have some compatible receivers they'd be willing to part with? Cheers, Fro
  10. I'm not a fan of cheap batteries - I bought some Halfords specials, put them in and the low battery light came on! I've use Duracell industrial for high draw wirk equipment which are tres bon. I used some in a transmitter a few weeks back, accidentally left it on overnight and they still had plenty of puff - they're still in there now in fact! I prefer rechargeables because you can just plug the transmitter in to charge them without the faff of taking them in and out. Got to keep an occasional eye on the terminal contacts though.
  11. I bought some of those but I find they're too fat if you sticking a few side by side. I got some of these to try which slip in nicely, have a reasonable rating and are still good value.
  12. Cheers mate. It's been fun putting them together. The garage rummage didn't turn up any more parts so I'm going to stop where I am. This sort of stuff isn't my thing - I'd be far too tempted to use them, not clean them properly and inadvertently degrade them. I think an enthusiast would get far more pleasure from them than I or anyone in my family would so I'm going to move them on.
  13. Stuck together the Tamiya Toyota today: Funny how the Blazer took a whole weekend and a couple of evenings and this took about 4 hours. 😁 That's the other Blazer in the background - it's mainly there with the exception of some fixings. I'll have a rummage in the garage and see what turns up...
  14. You can get Solidworks student for a mere tenner if you search around. It's an excellent CAD package.
  15. You're probably right. I thought I could modernise it and use it rather than sell it as incomplete. The original electronics are okay but speed control isn't exactly spitzenklasse. Ah well guess I'll be digging through the pile.
