The ST I will save for later, but the 7 is fixed again 🙂 Added in some body clip holders for fun... Popular Post Yrkoon Posted May 19, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted May 19, 2021 spent a lot of time on the triton today, for some reason my spur gear always ended up pointing in towards the motor mount on one side, i noticed it when i was changing bearings in the gear box. with a lot of faffing about trying stuff and looking for washers etc and even dremeling the slipper clutch spring a bit to make it more flat on the ends i believe i have it running a lot better now, seems like one part of the spring was pushing the slipper clutch side ways when i tightened it up and redone the mesh as well, the test drives were good apart from the slipper getting slack so i took it in and thread locked the nut, ill give it a proper test the morn 🙂 i also found a kyosho dbx slightly bent chassis which i plan on dremmeling parts off to reinforce shock towers etc on the hypers, also got a intact but knackered dbx i plan on stripping down for spare screws etc dang the dbx was the worst rc car i ever bought, even bought a hardly used second hand one for spares and almost ran out of spares lmao 3 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I own a Hyper 7 Black Edition myself and I wanted to know where you got those upgraded parts from especially those purple torque rods please? However my main source was always eBay and there are quote a few good sellers on there, although a couple are taking an extended holiday post Brexit it seems! rc-willpower was one of my main Hong Kong sellers that I used to use for the more obscure parts, but their eBay shop died off in Jan/Feb ish for Hyper. In terms of what to upgrade, I would thrash it and see what breaks and aim to upgrade what looks to be an unreasonable failure. Shock towers and hubs are good starting points though. Not perfect, but the shell will likely be trashed after a couple of races anyway! Just shocks and electrics install to go.
