  2. Been searching for a new model for a couple of weeks and now it looks like WS models have stuck an average of £10 on most models, I think i am gonna just have to wait on a used model now, and of course i still dont know what to get

@m4inbrain I’d skip the Maxx and I’m a fan of Traxxas but sadly the Maxx is a bit of lemon for the money. Really needs the wide kit and better driveshafts those plastic ones just dont last all that long. Time you do that your into mt410 money and there pretty much the same size

      @mydoddy69

      Cheers for the info bud.

      But.. too late. 😄

It'll be fine, it's not gonna be my "main RC", i still have the EXB and X-Maxx for stupid stuff, the Maxx is for the garden and a bit of blasting around. Paid £595, which is considerably more than i'd like, but the only other RC that i fancy (Losi Tenacity DB Pro) is out of stock until may (well.. the body i want, can get it with an ugly body but nah). After the Losi the garage is pretty much complete for a few weeks my wife said.

I don't think it's budget, really. It's just I hate seeing nice things being mindlessly destroyed, for no reason.

    3. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

It is for a reason... It's a durability test mostly, like a lot of his content.

That's partly the reason I watch him.

I now know I will never buy one of those Losis, too weak for what I'd do to it.

Same for the 6s Arrma range.

Would you rather he destroys a vehicle, provides some feedback and entertainment (to some) or you buy it and be majorly disappointed? 😛

      I know which I rather 😄 plus it's just a toy, all fixable/replaceable.

    4. PraetoR

      PraetoR

I agree that the skate park bashing, no matter how extreme, does hold value; in that it can show what some RCs can take. Even if it is beyond what most people will do.

But it's the continued torture, sometimes increased torture, AFTER something has already broken, that makes me a bit mad. It's broken already, ramping it further holds zero worth, with regards to testing and evaluating. It's literally just breaking something for breaking-it's-sake.

I have no issue with the extreme bashing videos. I find them a bit repetitive and boring, but don't consider them a bad thing.

And I agree, it is all fixable, but my latent mechanical sympathy has me internally screaming!!

  5. I thought i had found the replacement for the senton, started a thread about it and then had a few things pointed out, enough to put me of, so time to start 201 different threads on what to get and what not to get ha ha....or dont start any threads buy what i want and hope its not a lemon, but dont worry, i dont feel like starting any more threads

      Lone-wolf

Guys....thank you for the input, and i will say sorry if i had a bit of attitude over the weekend, cant go into the reasons for that on open forum, i still feel the maverick flux XT+ is the one to go for, its not in UK stock as we speak, so i have a week to wait before even getting close to a decision on this, one weal spot is the body shell, it really does seem to be eggshell fragile being PVC rather than Lexan, this truck is due to sell for £249, so another option is the slightly older xt flux at £159 and order some upgrades at same time like the newer HD axles, and spare front arms, this would still come in under £200.

So no decision yet, time will tell

    4. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

several folk had suggested getting an FTX outlaw, i have had a thought that i could get a brushed outlaw, as i have a new 120amp esc and a 3660 3300kv motor going spare, i also have a Outlaw roller for parts as the wife runs a brushless outlaw, this will happily take a 2s 6200mah lipo, and is pretty good of road, for the kind of running i want it for, the outlaw body shell is pretty fragile but it can be run with no outer shell, just roll cage frame body if needed, so i will give this idea some good thought

  6. The utter "joy" of trying to rehome an unwanted model, FB group right away get offered 70 less than i want.......dont know why i bother

Standard E-Bay seller trick when they run out of stock.

They still want to show up on search engines etc. and get the footfall to their E-Bay shop, but they know none will sell.

They will drop the price to normal when they get stuff back in.

It's purely to avoid removing the ad and having to replace it again later.

Just get the 124019 and stick a on road shell on it, take the stock garbage out and put a decent combo and even on stock gearing on 3s people are getting well over 70mph

    3. Redback

      Redback

Intresting i looked at the strada and the hpi creator as wanted shaft driven, im doing something similar and being familliar with ftx parts i got a cheap ftx banzia pulled out the motor and testing brushless motors. Having issue keeping the power planted on 3s. I know the diffs can handel 3s as they are outlaw diffs so really beafy for 1/10 on road considering the size of the car so would be happy to try 4s if i could get the power planted, the tires to stay on and the car not launch into the air from every little stone / dip on the road. Looking forward to seeing what you get and how fast you get it 🙂

    4. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

Thing is with doing all this to get a 124019 looking at about £100 then a conversion needs a new radio, that puts price up, so with radio, brushless and some foam tyres and a shell getting right close to £200 and still no place to run it, no gps to see what speed reached, best i leave this idea

  9. Had a letter from Virgin media to say its going up again, this comes on the back of yet another 2 day outage, time to give notice and find a new TV/broadband provider

      Oh How Original

Do you need 100mbps broadband? Unless you do a lot of heavy stuff, then would EE not be an option?

We have consistent 50-65mbps on speed testing, we sometimes lose wireless signal once in a while, no biggie and not anymore often than other companies.

      It's about 30/m.

    3. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

@Oh How Original its more about the tv for the wife, if it were down to me i would not have tv just broadband

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

NowTV stick? Used to pay £40/m for Sky, I just have a NowTV stick now, get all your apps and everything on it, no big bulky box, loads and loads of stuff on demand.

If you want regular TV listings like Entertainment, it's typically about £10 a month, but CDKeys and eBay often have deals as low as £2 per month.

My last deal was 6 months for £22.

But I mostly just use it as a stick for apps like YouTube, Netflix and UKTV Play.

      Oh How Original

Yep, should do, won't last very long though, with that shape of cab, if you have a high speed roll over... Plus Proline shells are pretty crap, the last few I've had have broken really quickly.

Had a few with molding defects too, which they admitted to knowing about, but wouldn't sort for customers.

    3. .AJ.

      .AJ.

I’ve  bought 3 proline shells in the last month or so and they have all been moulded absolutely fine

Shoe goo and scrim tape and it will last better, SC trucks destroy bodies no matter what 🤣🤣🤣

I dont use Amazon and dont have prime, so this deal will do for me, i was also after a 3s pack just to get full speed and found one in the plane lipo box, its only 3000mah 35c but dont matter if i puff it as i dont use it in the planes no more and its old

    3. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Hmm that should be fine to use, just wouldn't do speed runs with it.

The Senton is very quick on 3s, probably a bit more than you're used to from your current models, you should love it :D

    4. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

I am looking forward to getting it but most of time it will be rally type driving on 2s, i know it can be pretty quick on 3s

  12. Got a budget of £300-350max for a new off road car and cant find one i want!

  13. Senton 4x4 brushed owners...what sort of run time out of 2s lipo? and can pinion be changed for a little more speed?

I know it's not a roller, I was saying, used the electrics out of it for the Senton and sell it as a roller, instead of selling it complete.

    3. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

not worth jack as a roller, so would be better selling it complete, and maybe get a better motor/esc if needed

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Well if I was you, I'd sell it complete and just wait for an eBay discount code or something to get a deal on the brushless.

  15. question, so you want to put a track from a CD on a video for youtube then you get the copyright claim warning how do you guys go about putting a decent track to a video

    1. mydoddy69

      mydoddy69

You need to buy it there are plenty of sites out there that offer music clips for vids some are even free  👍

    2. Bajadre

      Bajadre

you can use a lot of music under the fair use policy jack the copyright claim just means if your channel becomes monitized they will also earn from adverts or views too.

always used original tracks on my channel and only had about 3 tracks over the years that were blocked and had to redo the music etc

can also search on utube for copyright free music 👍

    3. PraetoR

      PraetoR

      I use purpleplanet.com

The vast majority of the tracks are free, so long as you credit them in the video description.

I do my bit for others safety, i tend to fly in pretty remote places, and when out with cars i tend to stop if people are walking by, also i dont really run fast cars trail is more my thing

    3. supersavage

      supersavage

I think I'll probably stop flying this year which sucks as I've barely started and the few times I have been out I've loved it. But by the time you've got the BMFA, club membership and caa things sorted it gets pretty expensive and I can't justify it, especially with covid and the probable lockdown we're more than likely going to be in till at best the beginning of summer.

    4. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

I will stay with flying for now, i do feel i may reduce the fleet, as i do have  a lot of planes and mainly fly the ones i really like

I don't see what difference it makes. It all comes from China regardless of the warehouse you choose. The European warehouses I've chosen have taken just as long to get to the UK as choosing China.

    3. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

not going to order from USA as shipping expensive and very likely to get the customs fee`s china warehouse not getting silly with shipping cost, any way it dont matter i only posted this as  a heads up

  23. Help, i was all set to buy the Carisma Ford F-150, then i take a long look at the Traxxas TRX4 Bronco, and hatch a plan to be able to afford the traxx, now i dont know which to get, mainly for trail driving

      Lone-wolf

@m4inbrain, thats great but a tad too late, as i had made the decision to go for the ford F-150 about 30 mins back, i did a spin anyway and it came out bronco, but like i say for what i want i figure the ford is the one to get. had i been wanting it as a full crawler then the bronco would be the better choice but my scx10 2 is pretty darn good for the rough stuff. The Ford will only be used for trail driving, nothing demanding and lets face it, i have wanted it for a pretty long time, this F-150 will feature a lot on my new FB trail drivers group

    3. RCbutcher

      RCbutcher

The Trx4 is the only rc I'm tempted by now its built like a tank as shown by kevin talbot they can be customised like any traxxas enough option parts and competitor option parts you can build unique rcs over the years keeping the chassis new and fresh to use building it in various forms over the years.
