  4. I have ended my purchasing with Aliexpress i cancelled an order a while back due to extended shipping times, requested a refund but this has not been done, live chat did not help so no more sales from me

I must say the only times I have had issues was due to a seller not shipping the goods in a timely manner and AliExpress gave a full refund within 48 hours.  My experience with them has been very good.  Yes, shipping times are very variable (anything from 2 weeks to 10 weeks) but this is usually outside of their control and mainly due to worldwide restrictions.  I'm often buying items that are hard to get any other way.  Also, I find that buying direct from China/Hong Kong means I can get items much cheaper than if I bought them in UK, EU or USA.

Sadly China is going to pot lately and I can’t see them getting better anytime soon either

      BlackSeaRC

I'm not sure about that.  I'm very pleased with my AT4V from Cross-RC.  It is very well made and pretty decent value as well.

Cheers Gaz, the builder doing the repairs has come good on price, the car is done, just need to sort washing machine, the outgoing one was used £120 and has lasted 5 years so cant complain

      Bert_w164

Is that a 1/10 vehicle jack? Edit: It is.

      I'd go with 36XX mate.

    2. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

cheers, but they dont take that size motor with out a different gearbox, still not sure if i will get the OB2, im throwing idea`s around

    3. Bert_w164

      Bert_w164

Learn something new everyday, so they use a 390 motor, in which case 2845 makes sense.

  11. question on Hobbywing Quickrun 10BL60, imthinking of one to put in the wltoys 124018 but what motor to go with it, not after speed just want it to be nippy and reliable

      GMballistic

MM2 is a very capable ESC. More so the "Retro" version but even the newer one's are still excellent.

I used mine in a Typhon 6S speed running upto 115mph when I changed to the XLX2 only because one became available for a good price.

I know people have used them and got into the 130's with them.

Can't compare the Hobbywing sorry as I've not used the M8.

    3. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

decided on a 2845 3100kv surpass to put in with the 10BL60, not looking for big speed

    4. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

having gone for smaller can 2845 motor, and reading quadifyrc article i took good advice and went with a 16BL30 esc, yes it seems to small but the guy seems to think its a good choice, so all parts ordered servo, motor, motor mount and new pinion plus esc

  12. So, i am thinking about closing down my facebook RC Traildrivers UK group, it just has not grown any thing like it should of done, still only about 15 members after nearly a year of being up and running

      Lone-wolf

@Redback your right about new posts, i find it really odd that my Brand specific rc flying group has done epic, has become an international group with a very large membership that still grows and more members join just about every day runs very well, yet the car group is stagnant with no activity other than what i post, i run the Youtube channel to support it  same as with the flying channel

    3. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

I will leave the group as it is for now, see how it goes in spring time

    4. GMballistic

      GMballistic

Hopefully Christmas time will bring some more members as people have more free time and may even get some crawlers as gifts.
Don't forget to promote the group in other groups/posts when you can as I have found that does help bring in new people regularly for one of the groups I am an Admin for.

Been on here since early 2010, will be twelve years soon...get less for murder!!!  And I occasionally go AWOL for a while, when life just gets in the way of RC, or my interest waivers just a little. Always come back though, hope the same is true for Tom.

    3. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

i am glad i hung back on the FMS, managed to source a Volantex Ranger 2400 pro lightly used for a LOT less money, and seeing as i run the FB Volantex group it makes a lot of sense,

Hurstwood reservoir, Worsthorne. Pretty good for the crawlers/trail trucks. The wooded area just after the car park before the res.

  16. Having hated the Carisma Ford F-150 for a long time i am really starting to get on with it, i dont care for the ARC-1 esc, would a Hobbywing quickrun 1080 be a huge improvement?

  19. If i put all, or most of my RC cars up for sale, its not me giving up but feel a bit of a reboot coming on, thinking it may be a good idea to have just one real nice crawler like the TRX4 Ranger i keep telling myself i will be getting

      Lone-wolf

@tomr i have proper run out of room, but more important plenty of RC`s not getting used so best move them on but not rushing as wont be able to stumpo up for the TRX4 till early new year

    4. mydoddy69

      mydoddy69

If it’s on shelf gathering dust sell it. I don’t keep any rc that I don’t use no matter how old it is if I buy it don’t like it I sell it if I use it for a month then fall out of love sell it I’ve now moved onto large scale RC’s so I sold of all my smaller stuff off. No point in having dead money on the shelf when you can use it for something else that you will use, well not in this hobby imo

Nah human figures are so last year try finding one of the planet of ape figures 👍

    3. Gaz!

      Gaz!

For 10th scale, wrestling sized figures work well but would need some work as whenever I’ve been out on the trails in the 1:1 disco, I never saw anyone wearing a pair of speedos and big boots.

but search for any 7” figures as that works out to about 6ft tall in 1:1 scale.

tons and tons on eBay though mate. :good:

  25. Tam CC01 chassis, can this be built as a nice trail truck, last time i did one the steering was poor to say the least

    1. Show previous comments  2 more
    2. Gaz!

      Gaz!

Yes you can make a nice trail rig,

      6-F417840-D501-4-B3-F-89-D4-BD6940432-D0

sadly though, it cost about the same as a Trx4 to build.
if it’s the cc01 body shell options your after, MST do a cracking little truck that’s perfect for the Tamiya shells.

    3. Lone-wolf
