Lost all my oils!
need recommendations where to start again a few from Amazon probably, shock oil, diff oil etc- just bashing!

I don't have any of those RCs, but my Kraton ran 50k/100k/30k f/c/r. Some people run 200k in the centre.
Since you have a decent selection there, just go from there - there really isn't a must-have selection because you tune to your liking. Some people like it tighter, others less so.

Best budget servos for 1/8 buggy? The nanda servos are terrible!! Life r/x pack on its way so I don’t want to go ott on this car, what kg for steering & what for brake/throttle? I’m thinking Amazon specials but what kg can I skimp with.

To be fair, 25+kg on steering is pretty stout. More than i'd throw at it. Personally i run 15-20kg, with more focus on the "fast" part - 0.10 sec or less.
25kg and up, for me, is more truggy territory. No idea about throttle servos though, i don't do nitro.
Also depends on how fast you need it - good budget servo options available on ali, but of course they take a while to arrive. BLS-HV25MG for example,
Stupid fast, and 18kg at 6v - plenty. For me personally, anyway. I ran my pretty heavy Typhon 6s on a 20kg servo, didn't need more. 9imod as well as DMOND (brushless variants) are currently all the rage in terms of budget servos, if you can wait for them to arrive. Otherwise.. I guess Power HD is always a reasonable choice, though not as cheap anymore as they once were. They're decent (somewhat slow though) enough.

this looks like a bit of a bargain? Anyone tried one?
I’ve got a 30kg one for my TRX-4 but not got round to fitting it yet.
-
I used to buy orangeRX receivers from hobby king for my DX4C & DX3C, is there any others that people use?
-
@Gaz! Are you sure? That’d be fantastic!
-
Nanda NRB-5 on its way! 1/8 buggy nitro hassle.
must be mental.

@Masterdave I’ll let you know in a few days but I’ll say it’s easy as it’s an SH.21 engine pretty solid budget engine as standard.👍

Quite fancy a nitro hyper 7- anyone know of any rollers? I remember years ago they were £50-£80 & ten a penny! Found all my spares yesterday & it’s kick started my interest.
-
Every time I fancy taking my nitro truggy out my glow starter is flat- are those AA compatible ones any good? Or any recommendations?
-
Years ago i got 1 of these for same reason
https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/fastrax-high-capacity-glow-starter-4500mah-20391
And it still works ok
-
Could just get something like this and run it from a random lipo, I’d probably use something like this as my main starter nowadays if I still did nitro I reckon.

1st time out with the TRX4 & the two hyper go mini trucks, brilliant fun, the Trx is now rightfully filthy, I did cry a little that pleased my son. He broke his hyper go body tower part. But he was on 3s & hammering it!
-
MJX hyper go BL is here! My 3s 1000mah fits too, choppy chop chop time! (2s supplied) my sons one is on its way still- I hope!
-
Before I crack to tools out- does the 35kg amazon servo reach in the Trx 4 or does it need an extension? 👍
-
@.AJ. Andy- looking at the Corally line up, I figured you’d know, what’s the difference between the 6s radix & 6s python? Some odd prices out there the 6s radix is only a wee bit more than the 4s version?
-
@Gaz! Hiya, I read somewhere you said about end point adjustment on the weeny trx4 servos for the 2spd & diffs, how is this possible with a stock Tx/rx?
-
Merry Christmas all, can’t wait to see if Santa has a Trx-4m for me!!
-
DPD!
4 people in my house ready for my TRX delivery & the “bleeep” didn’t even ring the doorbell! Just carded & ran off, what an “expletive” now no one is in tomorrow…🙄
-
Trx4 gurus! Do I need a 3s? Do I use my 3s 5000mh stick from my granite or buy a small pack for the front? Like a trx2328x 3s 1500mh?

2nd that on the stock servo of ours is still going, its in a different rig, but never died in the trx4, ran mine on an axe system with 6v set on the bec.
You should be fine but a stronger servo transforms performance allowing you to pinch into corners and have more power and control with a 7.4v or stronger servo
3s brings the rig to life, too fast go low range, still to fast, gear down on the pinion, but overall stock its amazing on brushless 😉 -
I run a 11T Rocket 540 PLUS V2 brushed motor in my TRX4, with the two speed gearbox, which is about 2300kv compared to the 1850kv of the stock traxxas motor. I very much enjoy running it on 3S but have found for really technical trails sticking a massive 3S pack in the standard battery tray isn't as helpful as putting a smaller on up front. I just really wish they had made the front battery tray fractionally bigger so that a standard shorty pack would fit.
For a servo I've got a 32kg JX HV7032MG brushless model which I'm probably only getting 26kg out of as I've left the BEC voltage at 6.0V in case I fry the micro servos used to switch the gearbox and diffs.
-
I’ve had a deadbolt, I’ve had a sendero, now I want a new crawler, I think I’m too fussy for FTX should I just go for the Trx4 sport or full fat?
would an SCA-1e scratch my itch or is that lesser quality over my previous?
-
Trx4m’s on FB marketplace £250 each…

@Nick hmm not sure whats going on then

Guys- the FTX DR8- opinions? Rubbish or decent budget basher? Running on 6s.

Quite fancy a nitro savage, I remember listing my mint 3.5 years ago for about £120 & couldn’t sell it! They seem to be mental prices for old cr4p! & as for new- well Jesus wtf happened to these prices!!£530 for a savage x 4.6!

Thats an E-Savage ..... Brushless will chew that drivetrain up in no time.
I'm fortunate in that I have 2 nitro Savages, both heavily upgraded, and both actually quite capable trucks. But they do need to have money put into them to get them good.
By the time you have beefed up the gearbox, upgraded the diffs and driveshafts, deleted the rear uprights, improved the silly axle nuts and put in decent servos....fixed the low tank lean running and...er....yeah. On one of mine I ended up with a Twinzilla kit running a pair of .28 nitros....

Getting a TRX4m from Santa 🎅🏻 hopefully if I’m a good boy 👍😂
21st December is the release iirc?

https://www.modelsport.co.uk/element-enduro-gatekeeper-rock-crawler-builders-kit/rc-car-products/1332924 sweet! anyone have one yet? any good?
-
Not bad, they are just a crawler with a cage, so a bit top heavy but also something different. Few of us have them, heres an owners thread.
https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/topic/244584-element-rc-gatekeeper-thread -
They're pretty good, they aren't as top heavy as they actually look, that said I have broke mine a few times and the senior engineer for Associated told me they know of a brittle issue with the plastics, well the 'hard' plastics anyway.
That shows even more in the new Sendero HD release, they've made the plastic somewhere in between normal and hard according to John Schultz.
I would recommend them, but don't bash it lol.

Is it worth upgrading the 6kg servo on the granite?
https://www.modelsport.co.uk/power-hd-lf13-metal-geared-servo/rc-car-products/388579
always liked these power hd servos, would that be a noticeable improvement?-
I say absolutely its always a worthy upgrade. PowerHD are great too i think they are equal to the old savox 1256tg benchmark servo. 20kg with 0.17s ish, perfect servo.
Keep the standard servo though if you ever sell refit that and use the powerHD on the next rc. Thats what I'm doing now with all add ons that can carry over will carry over.

SR215 bought on Sunday, still not here. dammit stock tx/rx removed for sale, no bashing for me this weekend
-
Ok guys will this be better than the rx fitted in the granite? (I have a Dx4c) I’m sure the sr200 is DSM & this is DSMR?

@froggy8 its mental! think of a not so crappy savage XS that's really good, I've gone straight to 3s & used two 5000mah packs-lasted ages, it wheelies for miles but I haven't got the ramp out yet to test the jumps, but so far its been great fun, id does get a bit hot on 3s I noticed- so I will take the temp gun next time to check, overall I don't think there is any 1/10 4wd to touch it & I did a LOT of research (as you all know!!)
-
Nice new Arrma Granite BLX ordered !!
now to update the DPD delivery....& charge this 3s!!
