started building the dt-03 racing fighter last night and finished it today, stuck in a old and mild 3250 kv motor on 2s and it goes pretty well 🙂7 points

cheers bud, you could try one they are pretty cheap and a good build as usual with tamiya, this one was 101 quid with no esc but it did come with the torque tuned brushed motor and oil shocks 🙂 edit: forgot to mention it only comes with plastic bushings, i was gonna replace the bearings on my dt-02 sandviper so had a ball race kit kicking around from rc bearings, so add in the cost for bearings as well.2 points

Looking forward to this although I might not make it for 10am. Which is a shame because I thought it’d be fun watching @Nick unbox his new crawler……. ….just before it starts. 🤣2 points

I could try and make something to do that. And see if it would work. But I'm guessing that there isn't anything in the market that does this. Might mean it's not worth working on.1 point

It came out of the river and was not happy it ran rather erratic after its swim, did not notice how deep it was, but it made it back to where i parked rather reluctantly i have dried it out and given it a large dose of GT85 and seems to be okay now, will be a good video when i get time to put it together1 point

Between these 2, I would choose hexagon screws. I find them much more useful than Philips screws because they are easier to tighten and loosen thanks to the 6 sides, and you can access them from 360 degrees, provided you have room to move your tools, while with Philips screws, the process is much harder. But the disadvantage for both is that they lose weight very quickly and have to be replaced over time. I consider that there are much better screw alternatives, such as self-tapping screws, because it has much longer durability and requires minimal preparation.1 point

I watched that lastnight 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve also been watching loads of Brandon Herrera vids lately, they are definitely not very forum friendly 😂1 point

It should do the job and theres a few owners on the forum as well for advice etc1 point

I should probably start to look at getting a crawler... how about this? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/element-rc-enduro-trail-truck-knightrunner-rtr-13390151 point

That looks pretty smart, I am finding to me anyway it handles better with the battery over the rear. I don’t do extreme side climbs though…1 point

Have you decided on what crawler your getting yet ? Remember you may need to source and fit some brass bits etc1 point

Excellent! I think a few of the Modelsport crew will be joining me too. Looking forward to it, hopefully decent weather. 🙂1 point

Scott Gardiner has posted about this on the facebook group Yorkshire RC Beasts, and he says he will join us, and is a right nice guy so a few from the beasts will be there1 point

They could be a possibility. But they will add weight over this set up. If I could find some 60mm me tubes to try I could test them. I'd need 6 of them. So it would add a good chunk to the cost of the chassis too1 point

Carbon parts are all custom cut for me. Designed by me. Printed parts are all pla tough for now. Planning to try out some other types of once I have them.1 point

Ah okay. Sounds great. 🙂 No I don't have a crawler but plan to by this event!!!1 point

Great responses so far. Sounds good! How many gate markers do you have? I'm wondering if we just put them up as we see good places, I'll be there earlier though just to get nested if you want to come for just after 9 perhaps. (also explain how gate markers work for us none-crawler folks do we just have to drive through them?)1 point
