  2. Another tweak... The only thing that annoyed me about the pictures above was that the wheel arches were nice and rusty, but as such, still looked a bit "straight". This car has now had more hot skewers than Mr Mangals Kebab World off the A264 in Kettering.

  5. changed the pinion gear on my over ten year old sand viper for a nice steel one as the 17 turn brushed motor was over heating bad in this weather on 2s lipos, went from the standard alloy one at 17 tooth to a 15 tooth, it is still pretty rapid but the motor still gets pretty hot, although from the test earlier the heat build up is slower a wee bit

  11. Spectrum have something similar. Traxxas batteries are overpriced for what they are and their chargers aren't great. Using a standard lipo and charger isn't a problem and you'll get far more choice and more for your money.

  13. Hi Nick, I’m delighted. I changed the crystals and the TX and RX are talking again after 32 years. Many thanks for your help, pointing me in the right direction. My grandson is also very excited and telling everyone “the man on the forum told Granpa what to do”

  14. We should have a pinned thread with pics and names for all connector types, including the various balance taps, although there are fewer of those.

  17. Tbh it's been updated so many times. I remember loads of people had issues 5 or so years ago, but now they seem pretty good from more recent reviews. I think a lot of people who buys these rtr nitros are noobs as well so they might find it hard to get on with if it's their first nitro.

  19. No, use the storage setting if it has it. If it doesn't, use discharge mode, but monitor it until it drops to 3.8 Volts per cell. You may even be able to set the Voltage it discharges to, depending on what charger.

  21. The mac 28 is a powerful engine, Not the easiest to work with but the juice is worth the squeeze. They do tend to run happier on 20% nitro than 25% though

  26. Hi guys, thanks for your reply, yes it is the csystal type. 27mhz I will replace them. the electric plugs are shaped so they will only fit one way, it is an Acoms 5 Chanel. my grandson of 6 years is helping and I am unfortunately past my prime at 88 so your help is invaluable, thanks

  27. I know it was cheaper to buy another hpi baja 5b used to use parts from both cars rather than repair it I have kill switch now 😁

  28. I would get a hobao buggy or truggy. They are pretty easy to get parts for as they've been around a while and they are all 1/8th scale so they are pretty solid. The kyosho mp9 tki4 is a good option as well. The inferno series are not so great. If you want a kit, the hyper St pro will be an absolute tank. It's a hyper St with all the upgrades out the box. There are also the hpi trophy buggy and truggy as well, but hpi can be a bit hard to get parts for now.

  30. So far I have used the following DMS, Excellent service, Darren seems a real enthusiast. Modelsport, Very quick, lots of choice . Make it Build it, Very quick, good choice Howes Models, Very friendly, Helped with a few questions I had about some items for an Old RC Boat. Sussex Models, great choice quick service. I think given the current situation of retail, people are so much more dependent on Online in all areas, and it’s great to put money in to UK Businesses. But when it’s all back to normal, nothing beats looking and buying in a proper bricks & mortar Shop!
