  4. Waste of time. Plastic and more plastic. Why would you buy one when the v3 is only £20 more and much better. Arrma have taken a bit of a nose dive recently. Roll on late Autumn when hopefully that changes.

  5. agree Tug there prob the only company at the minute who could rival the xmaxx style etc sucks there still using plastic shocks on the 4s too they weren't much good on 3s for jumping as most upgraded to 6s ones lol strange move indeed

  6. Depends on pricing I guess - how much more folding than the 3s rigs, as i reckon most peeps who want a bigger truck will still just buy one of the 6s models. Does seem a slightly odd move though on Arrma's part...

  7. The Tekno for sale on here is a SCAM! It was previously sold in the US over 2 years on RC Tech forum, the person robbed the pics and the description word for word. I’ve now hidden the sales add and dealt with the member......

  9. Considering an alternative chassis for a build and been looking at the SCX10 builders kit Wondered if anyone has an SCX10? Prefer roller - body, wheels and electrics not required. Good order but doesn't need to be perfect

  10. Good condition Traxxas Aton. Comes with spare propellers and a 4000mah 25c 3S floureon lipo battery which has only had about 15 cycles. Also includes the camera mount and long landing legs as well as a few AAA batteries for the remote. Only negative point is that the battery door has broken at the bottom hinge. This is part #7924 and is £11.39. This quadcopter is capable of 50mph top speed and can perform flips and rolls in sport mode as well as being very easy and controllable in film mode which is good for taking aerial video. It has GPS which allows it to autonomously return to its takeoff location by pressing the home button or when out of range from the transmitter. Please note the original charger is not included. Price is £159 postage will be £8.50 first class.

  12. Had to do a couple of modifications to the battery tray to fit the esc in the buggy. But I can now fit in a 5000 size 4s and a 2s so it can run 6s. Or any combination of these for 4 5 or 6 cell. Fun times next time I take it out. Also have 5 different pinions for it. So I can adjust the speed and Heat. So bit of messing around at the weekend to get it right. Tomorrow I will solder the cappack in so I can run the 6 cell safely. Also might move the esc slightly to get it in better.and drill a couple of holes to hold it in better.

  13. I dont ‘need’ 300w but its nice to have it there, also means my charger isnt ran near maximum. I used to have an Xmaxx which used to run on 2x 5800 4s batteries per run and I had 8 batteries. I used to have the charger I linked to you originally and used to charge FOUR. 4s batteries in an hour. I used to have ALOT of RCs that ran from 2s 1800mah Lipos to ones running single 6s lipos Now I have a 300w parallel charger, i charge a pair of 3s 5000 mah lipos for my E Revo in about 40 mins

  16. go with the xt150s AJ is my advice both my friend swho ran xmaxxes and a dbxle ran 150s etc xt90s are fine for 6s deans I find suck after 4-5s power

  17. Boat connectors are a good bet, mainly because boat electrics are under so much more pressure than cars. I found this out first hand when I melted several Deans in boats, switch to XT90s and all was good but still got warm. If folk are using those in 6s-8s boats, they'll be more than enough for a car on 12s.

  19. Castle 6.5mm bullets are what I used. Expensive but they don't bend, aren't brittle and are polarised.

  21. Don't think i've ever seen a Tekin servo before, nor heard how good they are but is that really going to be around $150!? No doubting how good their ESC and motors are mind you so if they carry on that quality then you might have unearthed something! Personally, if money weren't too much of an issue, i'd go with Promodeler every time. I have a 470oz (http://www.promodeler.com/DS470BLHV) in my Bomber, which has very large 2.2 swampers and isn't lightweight and the servo moves them no worries. They've also released a beast of a 630oz http://www.promodeler.com/DS630BLHV There's a plethora of praise over at rccrawler about them. Might be worth taking a look. Fortunately your RX4 has a reasonably decent built-in 7.4v BEC so you really shouldn't need an external one? If you did fancy going the Promodeler route then you can contact John Beech direct, who's the owner, and he'll downgrade the customs declaration so you don't get stung? Mond's advice on motors is 100% spot on, you won't go wrong with any of those.

  22. The 8mm you mentioned is a safe bet, but you can get Castle connectors of the same size I believe, if you'd prefer something with a case. I just use 5.5mm, no issues yet.

  23. The problem is they had to be between the 3s tyhon and the 6s models. The v3 models are the best deal atm I think.

  24. Had no experience with Tekin servos and they appear to be quite expensive. Really and 30kg or more servo that's waterproof or can be made waterproof would do. Would recommend you pickup a Tekin hotwire as well.

  25. scrap that just seen them £359 ?is a bit OTT I have to agree on that, shame as they did look promising maybe in a few months they will drop in price but yep the v3 would be a better buy at the minute while stocks last

  26. I was really looking forward to these and now seriously disappointed ? So much plastic where it shouldn’t be, drive shafts, diff ring gears, entire shock construction, I could go on! Looking at the price these are going for state side you may aswell just spend a bit more and get a 6S.

  27. Are these running on the plastic diffs etc from the 3S machines? I guess there's a place for these, but would rather see an X-Maxx competitor, the Reeper still exists? But with almost no support in the UK, it'd be great if someone else would step up to the plate. Gotta go big! Then bigger still!

  29. Parallel charging is a (slightly complicated in my opinion) way of charging two or more batteries as one using a high powerful charger, but you have to be more careful and not mix batteries or condition. I prefer to buy a charger like the one above and use it was 4x seperate ones

  30. You can use a sensored motor from one company with a sensored ESC from another, usually without any kind of problem. Usually you'll gear down just by changing the pinion size i.e. reduce the number of teeth.

  31. Finally shifted the Monte Carlo on, and after much deliberation settled on it's replacement. More show than go, suits my wallet !

  32. If it's a Tekin RX4 you definitely need to run sensored. Don't run sensorless, it would be a waste of a good ESC. Tekin do the Roc412 to go with that ESC, while Castle have their Slate motors and Holmes does the Puller Pro. Based on start up RPM, the Holmes Puller Pro is best but they are all good really. I'd go for 2000KV or around that and run 3S. Running low KV, gearing down but high voltage gets better run times and puts less pressure on the electronics.

  36. After almost 5 years, finally got rid of the old 75 below. Trusty old car but not the kind of thing for trusting everyday when it's your only way to work. Now replaced with brand new Jaguar XF Sportbrake 250 Petrol. Wee bit of a step up as they say!
