For me, it is incredibly hard to be objective, when discussing Traxxas, but I'll try... Firstly the models. The TRX4 is a very nice machine and (surprisingly) not THAT badly priced! Think about it: locking diffs, switchable 2-speed transmission, portal axles, licensed shell, RTR and all for £500 ish... that's not bad! A fully-running Axial will cost that much and you don't get all the bells and whistles! TRX4 gets a big "tick" and a thumbs up... but I would not buy one. The Summit is an odd ball. I'm luke-warm about it. It's capable, but cripplingly expensive for what is basically an oversized 1/10 MT with a few gimmicks. I'd like to have a shot of one. The 1/16 Summit, however... £440 RRP for a 1/16!!! On yer bike!! Everything else, I flat-out dislike. Handling is extremely important to me and none of them handle. Not one! The Slash would get lapped by any other SCT (yes, it's a basher, but the HPI Blitz and Losi XXX-SCT are tough, yet handle properly), the Revo's handling (and drivetrain) is a mess, the Stampeed, Rustler and Bandit are WAY over a decade old and massively out-classed by all opponents (yet, cost between £200 and £400, depending on spec!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!). The X-Maxx debacle has been a dog's breakfast since day one- price, reliability, toughness, drivetrain... all puke. The UDR (which is NOT a racer!!) is ridiculously overpriced. A Losi SBR is not only better handling and more competent, but bigger, and tougher; it would smash clean through a UDR and emerge unscathed. Plus it's somewhere like £200 cheaper, even though Losis are generally expensive! Then, there's the Mini E-Revo. My least favourite RC in the world! I HATE it!! It's priced like a 1/8 and is literally useless in every single scenario. So, I would consider Traxxas as simply "not for me". A "no, thanks, but I'll spend my money elsewhere". A "good for you, but I prefer X-Y-Z". However, their business practices boil my blood! Sueing companies over items they did not invent! Patenting items they did not invent! It's madness! You know they hold the patent for an RC car wheel? Can't get a wheelie bar? That's because they have patented it. Waterproof receiver box? Nope, they own that, too! They also hold the patent for the signal between a transmitter and a receiver. That's right, Traxxas think they own the air between your tranny and your receiver! There are dozens that are just as stupid and just as selfish. Arrma are vastly superior, yet almost went under, because of Traxxas' policies. Also, the policing on their forums is despicable. They are genuinely making the hobby worse. By this point, it doesn't matter what they build. They aren't getting my money. Traxarse can take a running jump. EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention! On the Version 2 X-Maxx box (and on the web-page, adverts etc.) it stated that the truck has "larger diameter driveshafts" than the first model. This has since been removed, as people noticed and called them out on it. Now they are advertised as "strongest ever" I digress, when ex-MSUK member Mydoddy69 measured them side-by-side... they are identical. Exactly the same diameter as the original version 1 driveshafts! What this is... ladies and gentlemen... is a lie. Pure and simple! A straight lie, written on the box of the very product bought by their own (overly) loyal customers! I've said it before, Traxxas are the Apple of the RC world. You remember when Apple were caught, deliberately (and illegally) slowing-down the performance of their older phones, simply to make their customers buy new ones? Well, I saw Apple fanboys trying to defend this! Traxxas pulls morally bankrupt stuff all the time, yet the Traxxas fanboys ignore it all and label it as "good business". I really do find it baffling.3 points

. I didn't realise the Tekno was in the photo - Introducing my pink bottle! Yeah, I couldn't resist getting the ET48; I should have but couldn't! I know there is a 1/10 Truggy coming at some point, but I wanted this whilst the weather is good. Probably pee it down for the rest of summer now!2 points

Finally finished with the build. Saw a couple of Trailfinders on here, and had to build one myself. Been waiting for the front bumper and gelande 2 shock hoops for ages. 100/100mm suspension and metal rear bumber and side rails. The color is a fitting "dull red" from tamiya? Did some adjustments to the D90 aswell. New suspension and wheels/tires. Finally looking much better when lowered.2 points

I don't either but a quick search brings up enough to make me not want to buy a Traxxas. I think its general lack of awareness that Traxxas relies on.1 point

HNNNNNGG!! That Porsche body shell! Tamiya may rest of their laurels a bit much, but the sure produce some beautiful looking products! The TA-07 tease has me intrigued. Since the drivetrain is a near-as-dammit copy of the Losi XXX-S drivetrain... I wonder if they've ran into the same issues that Losi did, during the car's evolution? It took three versions of the drive belt to perfect the XXX-S. Of course, it may have nothing whatsoever to do with the drivetrain and it may just be a higher specced variant. If that's the case, I'd be quite an irritated TA-07 Pro owner!1 point

Totally pointless this HV stuff!1 point

Check the paperwork, it'll tell you maximum voltage allowed. Spekky will go to 9 Volts, Flysky is lower, but I can't remember the exact voltage off the top of my head.1 point

Looks like you've bought one of those "professional race buggies". Well, that's what it normally says on the box.?1 point

Not really. It's a botchy job, I didn't bother measuring anything, mostly freehand and doodles when needed. The rears a bit of a mess. I can't draw straight or do curves right. But if I don't even try it's less of a mess than if I did try. Also, I STILL GOT MY GLUE GUN AND MY HANDS, I DONT NEED SCISSORS. YOULK NEVER STOP ME ALIVE. Oh god how much worse would it look if I just used riping and glueing.1 point

This brightened my morning...... Avoid puddles at all costs? Someone please go round to jamils and remove all pairs of scissors from his house....1 point

Nice one, makes a big difference especially now that the chassis has a plate to cover the spur gear. It seems to collect the stones rather than allowing them to escape. Once a stone gets in there it makes short work of the spur.1 point

This is a post I made a few weeks ago regarding the spur gear. A very worthwhile mod. I’m still on the same spur since doing this with no worn teeth at all!1 point
