  2. Fitted some more bling to the front of mine And found a neat replacement spare wheel/tyre, (axial 1.9” plastic rim with a maxxis trepador tyre). looks loads better without the big bulky Traxxas one. Also got a cover for the new tyre too.... looking forward to the last shakedown before the g6

  3. Small update. As I did on my last build I decided to take the easy route with the inner fenders and just use a plastic tub. Seems to work ok, although it's not particularly 1:1. The interior is almost done, bar a few details. And, I guess it now gives my body color choice away. I also decided to use the RC4WD PRP seats instead of the Axial seats, as they are just over half the weight. Here it is: That's all for now. Thanks for taking a look.

  5. I mentioned needed the funds as I am trying to be honest as I can be, I don't have to sell all if any its just I am in that mood today. I wont let it go for nothing but I wont ask a arm and a leg but something reasonable. Its ready for someone to come along and do the last touch ups and get much enjoyment out of it. I would love to help out a forum member and give the best deal I can for them. So hopefully will come to an arrangement. I am regretting this but right now its where I am at with things. Ill pm you shortly mate

  6. I was perusing ebay looking at miniature sockets when it dawned on me. Ive got about 500 stainless m 2.5 Alan head bolts . They're perfect for getting the screws out . I'll put the makeshift socket in the drill seeing as there's 20 screws per wheel

  8. Hello, my names Keith and I have a problem..... What happens is I work nights 8pm-8am. My body hates this and around 3am, I go for my break but I cant eat food. So what I do is order another Tamiya Touring car..... Thing is I was gonna buy a Lego Porsche GT3RS and a Mack truck. These 3 cost the same as those but can actually be used? Only a Tamiya TT-01e Scirocco. £78 + postage lol. My aim is to make it look like my 1:1 Gonna need to trim the spoiler and find some different wheels.

  10. Good luck. My xcelorin motors (all used) have always been super smooth and torquey. i think I'm on a 21.5T in the crawler at the moment..

  11. looking at the photo, that FC looks more like a SPF3 fc, very good for the money imo, i use it in my racing/freestyle quad, plenty good enough for what you are using it for f4 and f7 boards are faster but you dont need that sort of processing power unless you are traveling at great speed on acro mode f7 fc have bugs, should be fixed in the next BF firmware but again mor FC than you really need

  12. @just rolling Motor mount. http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-ta01013bu-alum-modified-motor-mount-1621t-ta01ta02-p-27517.html?cPath=595_744_754 https://tamico.de/navi.php?a=5132&lang=eng You'll definitley need one of these for a brushless motor, the stock platic one tends to warp and split under load. The prop shaft and joints were left over from a 2017 Top Force, or you can buy the Yeah Racing or GPM equivelent. http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-ta01134bu-aluminum-modified-main-drive-shaft-ta01-p-28412.html?cPath=595_744_754 https://tamico.de/navi.php?a=10171&lang=eng https://tamico.de/navi.php?a=5133&lang=eng Tamiya even sell an upgrade kit comprising the motor mount and prop shaft specifically for the Manta Ray. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-Hard-Prop-Shaft-and-Aluminium-Motor-Mount-Manta-Ray-2018-47373/392028045676?epid=2287755454&hash=item5b46b1416c:g:PiQAAOSwKoFa4FAA Wheel hex's. http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-alloy-wheel-washer-thick-touring-drift-crawler-wa015sv-p-27433.html?cPath=595_744_707 The stock alloy idle and drive gear supplied in the kit isn't ideal, it tends to wear quickly and turn to a mushy paste. It is ideal to replace these 2 parts with plastic gears. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-50529-4WD-Plastic-Gear-RC-Hop-ups/401326170652?hash=item5d70e7621c:g:qmcAAOSw9Z1aX1Fr Parts on the left will be replaced with parts on the right. Hop that helps and have fun with the build

  13. It tips a little easy but it also has great clearance over others, removing up top scale accessories and adding things like a bit of fuel tube onto shocks limits some side tilt. I have a good few trucks but i would say the trx is best but does weigh a bloody ton but this also helps it grip, good clearance with the portals and the mud guards work great. A good few upgrades as bits die which seems to be the same with all my bloody traxxas trucks

  14. Hi, i got my manta ray last week and its almost done, going to be running a mild 2 brushless with the ballrace kit fitted. Where did you get the upgrade bits from and why did you swop to all plastic gears? thanks

  15. Devon masons are different, the bacon surcharge can be offset with clotted cream and jam ( cherry for me).

  16. Are you stripping the spur gear? . I've got the aluminium motor mount. Much stronger. Some reinforcing at the rear & just behind the rear shocks helps too. Have a look at the "ftx outlaw "page on Facebook.

  17. My son drives like you but never top speed runs and he has stripped his twice in two outings. More down time than runtime. There seems to be a fair bit of rocking motion from the motor when it kicks in. No bracket at rear of motor to counteract this. Could that be the main problem? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  19. Good comparison that! ^ I've also got a 1/8 Truggy, tried it on a 2200 Neu motor and got less than ten minutes on 4S. Switched to a 1480 on 5S and the difference is night and day, double runtimes and cooler temps. Speed is roughly equal.

  23. Been a while but finally managed to get some runtime Sunday just gone. excellent day, their was a informal 20 gate course, the trx4 managed 19 of the 20 gates and 17of those was with a open front diff. just has so much grip!!! this was also at the meet so we decided to pull up alongside for a quick pic. so tempted to have a bronco, it’s a gorgeous looking truck..... or get the shell on a scx10.2 kit maybe? anyway, the trx4 is epic! not one breakdown (lost a sand ladder but found it) and today i fitted a set of Vanquish incision links and some samix c-hubs.

  25. Well it's not quite fully together yet but here's my latest.... My own variation on the tamiya safari rally 240z. Just need to solder up some apparently-brighter-than-the-rest LED's for the spotlights and mount them all properly. It's on an XV-01 chassis I've raised as far as practical without too much butchery. Chassis is a little too long for the shell and is sitting on much larger than stock tyres on 6mm offset BBS's for that "come get some if you think you're hard enough" safari rally look. As a result I had to butcher the arches quite a bit, but as Basil Fawlty once said, I think I got away with it.
