  1. Don't let it get to you.... you will always get people who object.... but there are also ways to counter their arguments. 1) Consider getting hold of a decibel meter and get someone to take some readings to measure how loud things are. 2) Consider restricting what exhausts can be used to those compliant with current race regs. 3) Try to find some locals who support what yo uare trying to do by organising and regulating an activity that otherwise would happen without any control 4) Stress the benefits of the thing....giving the youngsters somethign constructive to do etc. in a controlled, safe and managed environment. For every village there shall be an idiot..... Sometimes they get their views in print when a local paper has nothing better to do. You just have to ensure you can drum up some support and get a few letters written to local council members etc. in response to the newspaper article.

  2. A senior citizen drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership. Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little gray hair he had left. "Amazing," he thought as he flew down I-94, pushing the pedal even more. Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a state trooper behind him, lights flashing and siren blaring. He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, "What am I doing? I'm too old for this," and pulled over to await the trooper's arrival. Pulling in behind him, the trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch, and said, "Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go." The old gentleman paused. Then he said, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a State trooper. I thought you were bringing her back." "Have a good day, sir," replied the trooper

  3. is it me, or does anyone else, have the same experience of selling items on MSUK? Comparing this forum with maxbashing, it appears that most buyers, take the approach that take the price you ask for and deduct 30% and thats the price. People dont even PM you they brazenly put comments demanding you meet there needs. How can this selling experience be improved..... ANYONE?

  16. I bought an engine with this attached but it wont fit in my marder. The TR/OBR Billet Clutch Housing mounts directly to the motor and the Baja's frame and houses the clutch assembly. This replaces the cast stock housing and is stronger and definitely better looking. The TR/OBR billet clutch housing also eliminates the need for the spacer between the housing and frame. An o-ring and oil seal have been added to this clutch housing. This allows you to use three crankcase bearings in your engine. It's a known fact that the sealed third bearings leak and cause an air leak. This housing will allow you to use three open bearings and still have two oil seals. The benefit is you will not need to rebuild the bottom end of your engine as often. This clutch housing requires that you machine the clutch plate to prevent it from rubbing the seal. Machined clutch plates are available separately. Comes in as new condition with machined clutch plate and good bearing removed from engine. Looking for

  21. Here is a copy of the letter i have sent to the paper Hi there Cathy as promised here is a short statement regarding the use of the land at the field of palehouse common crockstead farm halland. Sussex bashers is a freindly group of RC enthusiasts running 1/10,1/8,1/6 petrol , nitro and electric cars we have been looking a site for around 2 years now and was offer the above location for use by crocktead farm to build our track we have now been running for 7 months and have now applied for full planning permission to use the site as a permanent home for sussex bashers rc group. The group consists of around 30+ regular members both young and old some as young as 9 and some as old as 40+. We only run every 3 weeks on a sunday cars are never started or run before 10am and we are finished between 4:30pm and 5pm we have been working closely with the council and our members to keep noise levels down to a minimum and all cars are required to have a silencer fitted. There will be NO permanent structures built on the site and 90% of the field will be untouched by sussex bashers we will only be using the driveway to the track and the areas marked in red on the plans. We are willing to work with all residents of the local area so as to cause minimum distruption to residents. I feel the article in your paper makes it sound like the cars we use are huge this is not the case they will fit on any dinning room table yes they can be noisey but as said above we are working with the council and our member to keep the noise levels down. In the 7 months we have been running we have had 1 noise complaint come through from the council and have acted on this straight away and since then have had 2 further meetings without any complaints. i would urge any resident to come to our next meet which is on sunday the 11th of November to see what we do and what we are all about. We are not a bunch of yobs causing a nuisance with rc cars but a group of normal every day hard working people just trying to enjoy our hobby I would also like to let residents and local people know that were are not connected with crockstead farm and purely just rent the land from them. If you wish yourself or anyone from you paper is welcome to come along to meet the group so it give you a better understanding of our hobby This is a closed group and is not open members of the public as a booking in is required on our facebook page. Many thanks

  24. Fords are clearly the most over rated cars ever! Although starting to like their later stuff, The ST/RS Focus' are awesome for what they are. I also like the MK1 Escorts, and a Forrest Arched M?k 2. But everything in between them and the MK1 Focus RS is a bit too Essex for me! I appreciate a clean Escort Cossie on 18" Rondells, but would much rather have something Jap from that Era! Still, my mates a big Ford Fan, so I go Ford Fair every year =/

  37. CR tuned are relatively easy to rebuild, but you have to dissassemble the brush hoods so as you can bend the tabs back on the can. So as the end bell can be released. If you dont remove the brush hoods, you will damage the base plate and it will need straightening. The only down side with removing the brush hoods, is that they will need realigning with an alignment tool.

  38. Hi Martin, Welcome to the forum, lots of good people and great advice on here!!!!! Out the box without any spacers on the suspension is very low, I would say change the shock oils (not essential) and put in the spacers untill you find a ride height you like. Personally for bashing I have a slightly higher ride height than my racing set up. As a second hand purchase, the first thing I would check would be the diff and shock oils, also on first page of this forum has some good tips, other than that just ask away, think between us all on here we can answer most questions!!

  40. I sense the Grasshopper has much to learn concerning Haiyin-Store Fu X-) http://www.haiyinsto...wh.asp?p_id=207 That battery, being a Truely rated rather than a marketing inflated 40C can handle 200 Amps continuous. Though the "Next button" being a little thing, almost hidden doesn't help ;-)

  43. IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ: For Sale Rules & Information Topic Title: This is the first thing a person will see, so make sure it displays clear and easy to understand information about what you are selling. Ensure the titles accurately describe the items you are selling, "Clearout" or "Lots of things" helps nobody. IF a mistake is made in the title once the thread has been posted this can be modified by clicking "use full editor" button at the bottom of the screen. The Item(s) For Sale: Be honest with your descriptions of what you are selling this will result is less post sales problems for the seller and buyer. Please pay attention to the following points. Item Description - Add as much information as you can including condition, price, payment methods and contact info. If you are to list an ebay auction please make an effort to write about the item don't just post a ebay item number. Please note you must own the item you are selling, selling on behalf of friends is not allowed on our forum. Photos - Photos are required when the thread is created and must be taken by yourself (not taken from the manufacturer's website.) To find out how to upload photos click here. The only exceptions are items under £10 in value. If there are no pictures displayed at the time of posting the Ad may be removed without warning. Please note to reduce the possibility of scams we suggest that any high value item has at least one picture with the username of the seller and the date visible. As a buyer always ask for proof of ownership of what people may be selling. Payment Methods - Please note while its down to the buyer on which method of payment they use we suggest that paypal goods is the best option as it offers a small level of security to the buyer and seller. Please do not ask for payment via gift as these will be removed as they offer no protection to the buyer/seller much like bank transfer or cash. If selling or buying via cash make sure its face to face only. If you have sold an item don't spend the funds until the buyer is happy and has received the goods. Avoid "swaps" unless they are face to face. Questionable Items - Items such as weapons (knives, firearms crossbows etc), Adult materials (ie age restricted goods like tobacco, vapeing and alcohol), Animals/Pets are prohibited from sale on the forum and any thread listing such goods will be removed and warnings given.
