To be honest I'm quite getting into the idea of a "saddle bag" 2s. Keep the weight low and evenly spread. Put lighter items like the sound generator and lighting controls in the space where the battery goes. Now I've looked into it, the wiring doesn't even look that difficult.

Appreciate the effort. Sadly, although they are close (the third one is only .5mm over!),unfortunately none will fit.
Lone-wolf
Pair of 1S lipo`s saddle bag style will work well and you can get tiny 1S packs, just need a Y lead to connect each pack into the main connector
Stormbringer
Like Wolfy says the saddlebag style probably best bet

See below my wiring diagram (scribble on a scrap of paper 😄) You solder the positive of one pack to the negative of the other and put the battery plug on the remaining positive and negative, then solder a balance lead to positive , negative, and the connected middle wires. Simple??

Popular Post Fat Freddy
Bit stuck while I wait for that replacement shock shaft so popped the body shell on just to see what it’ll look like. Turns out it looks like a tiny Jeep 🤷♂️

Popular Post Fat Freddy
This would probably be a good time to make a start on the electronics but I don’t have the required concentration levels at the moment, so I jumped to bag F, wheels and tyres. I believe you can get actual beadlocks for these (!?!) but for now I’m sticking to the stock ones. As you can see, they come supplied with foams BUT……. I won’t be using them. I’ve got a pair of wheel weights for the front, and will run the rear without foams. After a bit of experimenting with the D110, this set up seemed to work the best. The weights make the front tyres a bit hard but really move the centre of gravity forward, and the rears are a bit too stiff with foams in but really dig in without them. It’s a bit silly with no electrics, only 3 shocks and an unpainted shell, but I guess it’s a roller….sort of. Well, a mate of mine lives in the states and owns a Jeep (uses it properly too) and aaaages ago I jokingly said I’d make an RC version. There’s an obvious problem straight away as his is the LWB 4 door version and this is a 2 door. So I shall use his as inspiration and go mainly white, but the roof, and wheel arches will be matte black ( because as far as I can tell, the white 2 door version came with black arches etc. Think I might de-chrome the wheels too, and have them matte black like his. I also have a tiny light bar for the roof!😂 His has purple under body lighting…. toying with copying that too 🤔 He calls her the Bugbear, so IF I can find someone who makes number plates small enough…… Edited January 24, 2023 by Fat Freddy

Popular Post Fat Freddy
Started having ideas about the body shell and may have got a little carried away. No room for a proper interior, but I worked out I can spare this much space for a cab and driver. I’d have to cut the poor little fella in half. The windows are tinted to hide the electronics inside, so I thought I might cut out the front side windows and make ( the tops of) little seats with headrests and paint the rest of the interior black. 🤣 I’m basically just putting off doing the electronics 🤣🤣 2
Stormbringer
I think that will work mate Hmmm i seem to remember you needing a wee nudge to get the Landy,s electrics done
Fat Freddy
Lol, @Stormbringer, once I get started I’ll be fine, but I know it’ll tax my brain cell and my soldering skills. Will be SO pleased if it all works 🤞. There are less lights on this but I’m adding a light bar and maybe underbody lights?

steephill
@Fat Freddy looking really good! I was tempted to try a 1/35 scale but my sausage fingers struggle with my scx24. 1
Popular Post Fat Freddy
Not had much time for RC, so pondering what to do next rather than actually doing anything. This is where I’m thinking the “saddlebag” battery will sit.
Fat Freddy
Opened up the TX/RX I bought with the kit. The receiver is also a combined ESC , light and sound controller. The transmitter is 4 channel, small and compact but surprisingly good quality with an lcd display and all the usual adjustments. (This is an old one, just because it already had batteries in it). For £45, including a light control board and a selection of LEDs and more than enough rolls of super thin wire to wire up the truck. I think it’s pretty good value for money. 👍
Fat Freddy
The supplier emailed me, apologising for not having replaced the faulty shock shaft that came with the kit and said he would send me an alternative. These arrived today. Metal bodied adjustable shocks. They are close to the same length but offer an additional 2mm of travel. That might sound laughable but when you consider that’s almost an extra 30%, it’s massive. (4.5mm travel vs 6.5mm travel). They are much smoother too, and just generally seem better quality. Still no damping though. Thanks very much https://www.dronejunkie.co.uk/orlandoo-hunter-motors . Great customer service 👏 How cool does that look? 😁
