steephill
@Lone-wolf @Stormbringer Thanks👍 I'm not really a fan of the full throttle method but that particular bit is very slippy, even for the sticky tyres. Some times you have to give it full beans
Lone-wolf
Little question on the TRX4m, how sturdy is it, would you guys say its a tough little critter

steephill
@Lone-wolf You can get the white body and paint it your colour of choice.

They are a tough little truck. I've been pleasantly surprised how long the plastic gears lasted. I left the rear in my bronco just out of curiosity. I way prefer working on Trx4m's than fcx24 and scx24. Most of the bolts are 1.5mm driver, not tiny screws. Just my opinion, but definitely my favourite mini crawler.

Thats a no as just works out way to expensive, though i guess there is an option to sell of a new body to fund a custom painted shell but still in no rush to get this while i decide on what model, i do think i will be selling the crossrc unimog and this will top up the funds and make room for a 1/10th hi trail F-

steephill
I've ordered k10 length links to extend the wheelbase on my IR40. The only potential issue I can see with this is the front wheels may touch the front bumper. I don't think it will be much if any. A 370 size motor and gearbox to suit with 32% underdrive. I've been really happy with the injora motors and gearboxes for the Trx4m. The injora 180 48t has good bit more torque and speed over the stock motor.
Lone-wolf
The more i look into this the more sense the 4m F-150 makes and still thinking the Brown one if i do
Lone-wolf
guys, what sort of run time does stock 750mah lipo give and is there a way to use aftermarket lipo
Gaz!
We can get a hour or so out of the stock lipo, but thats including pauses etc. not sure if you can buy a “adapter” of sorts to match the Traxxas connectors (something the pees me off about Traxxas….) other lipos fit, we have some 1000mah lipos but we have replaced the esc/receiver to run our own set up. Injora do a lead from their esc to a Traxxas lipo so maybe they will do the leads??
Stormbringer
found this on modelsport you could make your own adapter lead out of it https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/injora-micro-bec-for-1-18-trx4m-1355126
steephill
Probably about the same run time for me. One of mine has the traxxas esc with traxxas battery. I've not seen an adapter for sale anywhere. The injora esc comes with various connectors so you can use a Traxxas battery, any 2cell with a balance connector (which is really handy) or you can solder on which ever you prefer. Overlander do a 450 and 850 mah battery that fits directly in the Trx4m battery tray but doesn't have the stupid traxxas connector. I would highly recommend the injora esc for the reason mentioned and it's super smooth. I know you might not want to replace the esc but that option frees you up to use most batteries.

Actually i might want to replace the Traxxarse ESC as i could then run it from one of my other radio`s, i have never liked the big TX that the little truck comes with and of course there would be the option to sell of the traxx esc and radio
steephill
Did some more crawling today. The tarantula was out today. Minus the 70mm tyres, I had to put those on the IR40.

The hobbywing offering is not great and I do like hobbywing, got loads of the stuff. Furitek do an esc, fully programmable, brushed or brushless. I haven't tried one, And they aren't cheap, about 50 quid plus the ridiculous shipping from the states nowadays. You can order direct from them but same shipping price. The injora esc is super smooth, cheap, compact, looks good and will take the crappy traxxas battery connectors. I've tried various of the brushed esc's off aliexpress and Ebay etc. None are great to be honest.

I'd get the 180 48t motor from Injora. I put that in my high trail, huge improvement of torque and speed.
