BashingBrian Posted August 13, 2020 Share Posted August 13, 2020 I'm not defending Arrma in any way or form, as I myself am going to buy the EXB..😁 But, this diff issue is all about QC..!! if you go over to the ArrmaForum you will see plenty of people with issues and just as many with no issues..!! The fact that Arrma hasn't fitted the correct shims in the diff from the factory is unacceptable in my opinion, and to make matters worse they labelled the shims incorrectly too..🤪 I would like to think they will sort the issue out, but none the less there is an issue and it's very hit or miss wether your fancy new EXB will be good or bad..😩 If you live in the states they just warranty everything quite easily but over here we're gonna get royaly screwed no doubt..!! Tug Posted August 13, 2020 Share Posted August 13, 2020 In a toy car that's unlikely to ever see a track, probably not. Looking at the exploded drawings in that vid, they are very complicated. This is why I dislike gearboxes, too many moving parts. A CD with motor driving straight onto it has far less to wear out. These diffs are in the same vein, too much to go wrong. Its clearly gone wrong from the factory which isn't really surprising. I have had lots of issues with drive shafts on my hobao that have been made wrong. Lots of people buying axial kits or other kits have parts missing. Not really much you can do about these things on the factory side when you are not even in the same country. The correct thing for them to do would have been to find which cars had been affected by serial numbers and send out those people the parts they needed to repair it. I'm pretty sure one guy I've seen contacted horizon and they sent him an entire diff with the limited slip discs rather than a standard one. No there’s lots a company can do for poor quality control it’s far too easy to pass the buck end of the day it’s the companies name on the box so the fault lies there. As for Jason perhaps a little less time on social media and a little more time sorting out QUALITY CONTROL might have these issues a thing of the past ! I have just received my shims that I ordered for my upcoming EXB and now Arrma has screwed me again 😩 I ordered the ARA709060 shims that come in packets of 8..!! and surprise surprise there are only 4 in each packet..🤬 This QC thing is just getting out of hand.. I think Arrma needs to rethink their plan for supply of parts etc and sort these issues or a lot of customers will just walk away and move to another brand..!! I'm not traxxas fan, but I'd take one over an arrma. I saw first hand the %%%% show that was the end of Durango, yet it seems nothing changes. Exactly, I'm not buying any new RCs unless they are a kit with tamiya quality build instructions so my kids can have the experience of building the kit themselves with supervision and guidance. There's not a chance those exb or the k8s was properly tested via market launch... So I guess there's a deep rooted lesson to learn from that mistake..... One which I doubt they will actually learn... I mean.... Approach any actual engineer and ask them what an office based test engineer is.... And I'm sure they'll have a colourful response... Its common sense... What also makes me chuckle is... I actually chatted to Jason and suggested using two stage diff housings around a year back... And shifting to a better grade of t6 for the chassis.... I gave up in the end.... Now I just laugh when I see all the oh so avoidable issues caused by their own creation....
