BigGinge
I’ve not used them (still on my kit ones) but these may be a cheaper alternative to the TR-4 ones; https://a.aliexpress.com/_mszsuBC
Bigjimknickers
Guys if I use this https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-complete-bec-435331 because I have the Traxxas light kit going to my esc- will that just operate the steering servo & keep the micro ones at 6v? Kpowell911
Took the Defender out with the Fusion Pro. Seems much better. After some Alloy Beadlocks and maybe new tyres? Any recommendations? Preferably Ali Express Banggood for the wheels? Tyres Im guessing ita Hyraxs?
BigGinge
Currently got some of these tyres on mine, sorry proline. Not sure they perform any better than the stock canyon trails but they look a bit more scale. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLGVUtU I’ve got them mounted on some of these wheels with a slightly wider set of spacers fitted to clear the disc wheel weights I run them with. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPoJ7sI That’s the wheels fitted with some slightly smaller class 1 hyrax clones. These seem decent enough but the rubber wasn’t as nice as the other two and the smaller size did make the truck a little less capable. I think you can get them in a larger size if you look about. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNgw9MA

Stormbringer
those are 2.2 wheels if you do go for them youl probably need lower profile tyres

You really will not find better tires for cheap or expensive. The compound is what matters and they just rock. If your wanting a performance boost, look at 2 stage foams, helps with the side roll and keeps the tires upright when cornering, so flips less. We only find stock ones struggle is on damp rocks, but I guess all will?

Depends also on the rock, how much sands on the tires etc, for the most part the canyons are best all rounders and as they wear in they get better. You can also snipe them if you want more grip on dry rock. Yes they are glued, unless you got the kit and never glued them. The cheapish fast trax alloys are very heavy and sit well on these and prolines. (heavyweight ones)
Shergar
I’d echo the above about the Canyon Trails 👍

Lone-wolf
@Kpowell911 i recently fitted these to my Texan and they are very good also very quick from ali but the foams they come with are rock hard so i used some foams from another set of tyres and now they work real good https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004796880224.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.43.383476dc1GvUBk&algo_pvid=da42b038-8eb4-434d-8b51-0308115dfde7&algo_exp_id=da42b038-8eb4-434d-8b51-0308115dfde7-21&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000030520649147"}&pdp_npi=3%40dis!GBP!33.17!16.92!!!!!%4021227e5116763944555492884d06bf!12000030520649147!sea!GB!913083435&curPageLogUid=zCfER6cz4yYP they are 1.9

Bigjimknickers
On my maiden run I noticed I had no drag brake, any tips on how to activate it on the stock esc? xL-5 is that it? I have the Traxxas pro scale light kit wired to it so I’m not looking at swapping it out.
