bibbles is right we used to do repairs and alot of cars had problems with shocks etc and tbf theyre arent alot cut to seat nowdays its another corner cutting excercise the weight of the car out balances it and everything is set up properly alot off people have done worse things than cut a spring round here ;O

Come on mate you can't just cut springs like that lowering springs or not.how does that spring now seat into the support properly.you can't just cut a spring and hope the weight of the car will keep it secure.

Should seem the state of my escorts suspension then. Car had been lowered too much so they decided to weld on a piece of spring from what appeared to be a different car

As long as the Spring is fixed down to the seat properly its fine. Its when the suspension lifts that's what causes the problem as it can unseat the spring. But as long as you stick some steel cable ties around you never get any problems.

After we chopped the springs, we made sure that the were seated properly, and fastened jubilee clips to the cups.
