The model has an aluminum frame, a 4-wheel drive traction and eight shock absorbers. The Bullet is ready to run and comes in versions stadium trucks and monster truck with remote control 2 channel. Both models are available with internal combustion engine and electricity, the Nitro Star G3.0 and HPI Flux brushless system. Definately need them tyres changing imo Tyre compund (softness) makes more difference than tread style. These will be miles softer than anything Tamiya put in basic kits. HPI was set up in 1986 to import RC parts from Japan to America, and eventually became their own car manufacturer (mid 90s). Hot Bodies was a totally separate Japanese company making bodyshells and wheels in the late 90s. HPI bought them to make upgrade parts for HPI cars, then turned them into a constructor in their own right in 2002, and merged them in-house in 2005. In basic terms today, HPI is the bashing side of the operation, HB the racing side. HPI are gradually moving all the non-race cars over from HB to HPI. No husband/wife thing at all. Garry Posted December 14, 2009 Author Share Posted December 14, 2009 Blame the HPI Pro 3. Seriously, that car was a dog. The whole TC world was experiementing with chassis flex. HPI got it majorly wrong with the Pro 3, out of the box it'd tie itself in knots. HPI needed to fix it, but couldn't lose face by doing it themselves, so bought HB on the quiet, and fixed it through them by making a load of carbon and alloy parts. Quite simply because HPI do it frequently... And almost constantly with every car release.. Honestly cannot remember the last time HPI brought out something a little origional... Losi, have been upping their game in the Micro and Mini markets recently.. Tamiya - Has been cloning their own chassis since time began! but since their mainly scalers, they get away with it. Yokomo - Hardly have a wide selection to begin with.. Hobao - I will give you that one! Excluding Tamiya, HPI is probably bigger than the other 3 combined!! I just dont get why they deserve, and recieve such a large piece of the industry pie. especially considdering the recent extorsionate price hikes and the rediculous prices they charge for their spares... With their financial turn-over, and obvious technical abilities, i would expect them to keep things a little fresher. (Just look at Traxxas!) Hey! theres a thought!! a 1/16 Nitro Savage!!!
