Sorry for being picky but them tyres on the bullet are exactly like the tamiya Lunchbox, midnight pumpkin etc etc and DO NOT grip! Definately need them tyres changing imo

Tyre compund (softness) makes more difference than tread style. These will be miles softer than anything Tamiya put in basic kits. :good:

Yey, another electric truck.

Is it based on the Savage? It looks very generic.

it does look very 'FLUX' like doesnt it nick

change of shell,an wheels/tyres

change the name,re-brand it,sell it as a new model.......proper HPI trick :good:

I know they are Hoss, just a shame HPI don't make anything new, all of their 'new' designs just seem to be a different colour or an old HB design.

your spot on mate :good:

it is quite insulting how they think by changing some wheels/tyres

a body shell/colour

that thay can then re-sell it as a NEW model

but such is life an marketing......nothing new i suppose

an to the new guy on the street......they will never know

its only us NERDS that spot/know these things

Erm....no......just.....no.

HPI was set up in 1986 to import RC parts from Japan to America, and eventually became their own car manufacturer (mid 90s). Hot Bodies was a totally separate Japanese company making bodyshells and wheels in the late 90s. HPI bought them to make upgrade parts for HPI cars, then turned them into a constructor in their own right in 2002, and merged them in-house in 2005. In basic terms today, HPI is the bashing side of the operation, HB the racing side. HPI are gradually moving all the non-race cars over from HB to HPI.

No husband/wife thing at all. Whoever made that up was having a laugh.

Blame the HPI Pro 3.

Seriously, that car was a dog. The whole TC world was experiementing with chassis flex. HPI got it majorly wrong with the Pro 3, out of the box it'd tie itself in knots. HPI needed to fix it, but couldn't lose face by doing it themselves, so bought HB on the quiet, and fixed it through them by making a load of carbon and alloy parts. When it'd blown over (2005, and 2 years after the Pro 4), they made it official.

And I don't see why HPI get all the criticism, Tamiya, Losi, Yokomo, HoBao and loads of other companies do exactly the same thing.

Quite simply because HPI do it frequently...

And almost constantly with every car release..

Honestly cannot remember the last time HPI brought out something a little origional...

Losi, have been upping their game in the Micro and Mini markets recently..

Tamiya - Has been cloning their own chassis since time began! but since their mainly scalers, they get away with it.

Yokomo - Hardly have a wide selection to begin with..

Hobao - I will give you that one! :good:

Excluding Tamiya, HPI is probably bigger than the other 3 combined!! I just dont get why they deserve, and recieve such a large piece of the industry pie. especially considdering the recent extorsionate price hikes and the rediculous prices they charge for their spares... With their financial turn-over, and obvious technical abilities, i would expect them to keep things a little fresher.

(Just look at Traxxas!)

Hey! theres a thought!! a 1/16 Nitro Savage!!! Id buy one!!!:good:
