  1. kv rating is just a measure of how many RPM's it can do per volt. taking the 8000 kv and 4000kv example. 8000kv motor, with say 10 volts, will spin a top speed of 8000 x 10 = 80000RPM 4000kv motor with 10 volts it will spin at a top speed of 4000 x 10 = 40000RPM. if you have more kv (or RPM/volt) you have less torque.
  2. you could probebly practice at a local club, why not use the engine to learn to tune and set up the car, then half a year later when you can drive the track etc, swap the engine for a race spec one...
  3. right the website is up but there are niggles. its rather slow, it uses a spry accordion, load of pictures and links to pdfs.... but nothing to much else, whats the best file format to use and size to make it load and run more smoothly? its not very responsive on mobile devices though it does scale down as it should (using fluid grid layout) this could be down to the image size, or whatever is making it slow. the text doesnt scale down when the rest does, so on a mobile the text is still rather big and is bigger than the writing in the image's. im not post a link to it on here as it has my provate email and mobile number, may give it out over PM but only to people who can genuinly help... thanks all, chris
  4. i have made a website on dreamweaver, got it all working in the root folder etc and have tested it in mozilla, chrome and IE and it all works fine. now i want to get it online, i know i need to have an account with a companys server, and use FTP software to upload the files. i have bought the domain name as well. but i have a few questions. i bought them on 123-reg.co.uk but i have found falcoda to be the cheapest company to host with. so say i go with them and buy 12 months worth. after that i have no idea what to do and how to put it all together. i am using filezilla as the FTP software. the website is only going to be a portfolio website so i only require very small amount of space.
  5. it was a uni project for 1st year industrial design... got a 1st in that module which included 2 other projects... the model took a while to make but by far not the longest iv spent on solidworks...
  6. got it to work, it was just that update but it wasnt showing before. but thanks for the help cerb, forgot about cc cleaner so installed that now too.
  7. There is no option when I enter bios to do that... Saying that I got a pop up just now saying updates are available for a Broadcom wireless card, but I thought Intelsat where used in uk models and Broadcom was for the US. I'll wire it with Ethernet tomorrow and update it...
  8. Well it's like my computer doesn't have wireless, that's why I think I might have broken the card or it's driver software issue...
  9. I have a new laptop that I connected using Ethernet at Uni, now I'm home and using wifi it doesn't seem to work. I can connect via Ethernet to the BT modem but not wireless. When packing for Uni I did drop the laptop about a foot in height but it was in its case so I hope I haven't damaged the wifi card. It's running widows 7, wireless card is intel and I did download the driver but nothing's changed. I ran ipconfig /all and there was no mention of wifi in the results. I did get wifi at the library at Uni but that was on a different OS (reinstalled windows 7 to 64bit instead of 32) and it did work, but that was before I dropped it... Anyone got any ideas? It's a Samsung 7 series chronos 15.6inch...
  10. picture on the right took 2.5 hours to render and ignore spelling mistakes, they were amended. Sony powerdrill and wireless charger for all of Sony's products
  11. i just done a clean install of windows 7 on a laptop and it doesnt have some drivers. is there a way to easily get them all at once rather than doing them all separately. i mainly need the internet at the moment so i dont need to use my old laptop to download things. i need to use an ethernet cable as i dont have wireless. my laptop is: samsung 7 series chronos np700z5a-s03UK help is much apreciated

  13. just got a new laptop, as this ones on its way out but it comes refurbished with no OS. so, i can choose which. its specs are. Processor: Intel Core i7 2675QM @ 2.20GHz RAM: 8GB Hard Drive: 750GB Solid State Hard Drive: 8GB (to help with loading programmes/booting) im studying indusrial design so i want something to run solidworks and the adobe suite. i would normally go for XP as its cheeper and still pretty good, but windows 7 can run 2013 solidworks and XP cant. what am i better off with considering the uni uses 2011 solidworks and i will get what they currently use.
