  1. Instant solder connections used in ww2.

If only they made something like this for us lol. But could be sketchy trying to do a lipo.  Awesome idea though but why not just twist the wires and hope.

  2. Could have been an LCG model though.
  3. I cant get behind these plastic slab rcs they just seem too much like argos stuff with a hobby body on. Integrated lipo too.
  4. Diff oil for street slash basher which would you use?  Road tires 1/8 power and 3s mayb 4s lipo. Not a vxl.

    Rear diff options.  5k - 7k - 15k

Which would you use in the front diff too?

CST and weight is confusing me for sure I'm talking weights but wonder if the 100k 50k etc are talking CST.

I just have bottles in weights tho core rc I think.

    4. GMballistic

      GMballistic

@RCbutcher "Core RC" has the numbers in "CST" on their bottles. That's what I use predominantly.

  5. I have a £10 posted savox servo it's only good for touring cars though imo mayb a tamiya offroad I think it has 7kg torque just a cheapy savox.
  6. I'm a so called veteran member and I still make silly mistakes lol all the time. I would also pop a shock screw out and test the range of the arm/cvd just to make sure it has smooth operation up and down nothing knocking just to rule it out.
  7. I shaved the diff cup channel to alloy the spider gears bar to seat down all the way and alloy the ring gear to seat gears moving freely. Job done. I have movement in the drive ends but cant remember if that's normal the gears are operating smoothly and its fully closed that's all I care about right now. But then I gave the ring gear a wipe down before fitting it and saw something fall. Then noticed the big chip out of the bearing mount so not a win at all. I think when I got stupid with it trying to rubber mallet the bar in I rested it into the drive gear so the drive end wasnt touching anything I think anyway I don't remember tbh lol. So now I need a new ring gear before I can bolt it all back in. Or chance it like this since the bearing will still go on. But I don't think I will unless afew say it should be fine lol. Idk what kinda forces that bearing will be under so probably just get the new gear. Until next month then I guess. I need to start the body for my kids truck now forget this until that's done. Orderd part #6879 I mayaswel have just brought a new alloy diff cup lol. I was tempted to try the Chinese part at £5 or even the Hong kong hardened gear but decided it's best to just get std and faster hopefully. Big lesson learned dont bang on things.
  8. I use parcel force tbh just try to get it inside the smallest package possible it's more about dimensions of the box than weight. I've used parcel monkey for heavier rcs tho like large scales. I was told they are/were one of the cheaoest but it's been afew years since I used them.
  9. Thunder tiger panda MRC I think it is I had one too in 2012 my first rc purchase as a hobby it drove me mental trying to find out what it was. Once I found out what it was i found out theres 0 parts available not easily available anyway. I had to JB weld parts back together unable to buy new. The engine was one of the best nitro engines I've ever owned crazy reliable especially with it being so old. I forgot how old it is now but ide guess 25yrs mayb. It drifted perfectly too so controllable but just clipping a curb slightly would snap the plastic parts with the age of them making them brittle. They did some rally car models with the chassis I never did find the MT version I started to think mine was one of the rally cars somebody put MT wheels on instead I never got a body with it. They also made a pick up truck one too like an toyota hilux race pick up they re released that one around 2012-13 I thought that would bring some spares with it but I never saw any. The best bet was to wait for others on ebay and buy a chassis to use as spare parts as needed. But I just sold it in the end. One guy on YouTube got very creative with his and bolted on a 1/8 buggy rear end to his with a big block engine.
  10. Looks perfect I saw the other day the fast furious crew actually brought vin diesel one of these cars as a gift. Imagine that as a works gift.
  11. Looking awesome mate I like the colour too. Awesome job well done.
  12. I tried to dry fit my Shortend shocks to slash 4x4 first I rounded out one of the silly but cool anodized screws I had to remove the rear arm to drill it so then thought I mayaswel finally install the alloy diff cup I've had for years waiting. 2-3yrs. Cleaned all the grease out std uses tried to fit my spider gears and nope. The bar the spider gears sit on will not fit the FML diff cup so naturally I got the hammer out but a rubber one. I jammed in there good and proper but nope they was set like rocks and obviously I couldn't get them out. So I got to use my flywheel puller I've never used too which got it mostly out and I managed to rag it out with pliers from there. So now a quick shock swap has ended up with the rear end pulled off 3 tubs of screws and diff parts waiting whilst I figure out what to do next. I'm thinking get the dremel out and try to lightly open up the pin channel just enough but I've never done anything like that I can't see any other way though. Except new alloy cup. Or pull the front one out and see how that compares since it went together fine. Plus I can redo the diff oil then and know what I have. Aiming for 5k front 7k rear after reading online they talk about 50-100k in the rear though what. I need to look that up more I think. I thought we use lighter fluid in the rear diff but thought I must be wrong reading so many threads quickly saying the opposite so tried to go 7k. Slash 4x4 for street bashing and speed runs not all out speed runs. Its never a simple to do list is it when starting the simple to do list is it lol.
  13. Is this how you restrict shock length. The video I'm basing my conversion off shortend the shocks quite abit so I did this.

I haven't put oil in yet though I'll wait till I've seen how the wheels sit in the arches mayb change them.

For the rear I only put one bump stop inside the shaft. I hope they wont leak lol. Vg racing jato springs.

I think there 97mm standard I'll try to measure them 0properly tomo I'm sure the guy only had issue with the front being too high. But its only a picture show video.

Cool mate thanks.  New problems now lol.

  14. I got the VG racing springs today and also decided to just order the 10mm offset hexs and fit the 6mm offset ones onto the kids stampede giving that the extra width. I need the arches filled out lol. Hopefully start playing with it soon still haven't got an ideas for paint except colours and one decal/mask.
  15. Edit.. I mean research it first dont just take my word for it I only have experience with one combo and its been amazing and it's in a 4x4 stampede seems to be just as good as any vxl though these combos are well worth a good search around on. I wont use anything else for 1/10 now. Even hobbywing is getting pricey now. Stick a gool rc combo in there 30£ cant get better bang for buck unless it's a pricey rc then deserves a pricey combo but the goolrc combo is a great budget system great power lots of kv options on motor. The esc was being sold on it's own for £10 new at one time. The 60a esc one not the 45a version. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203005910175
  16. The green one looks like the front wheel is hanging off is that right or just showing behind it?
  17. During the 2nd run with the Bosche rotak 650 I had it on the lowest setting #3 was magic one pass perfect grass. Then I hit a stone less than a golf ball in size the mower coughed for 2secs then powerd off or I powerd it off letting go whichever way it powerd off. Now it will not power back up I have no idea what it could be I've changed the fuse in the plug and its still dead. Less than 90min use. I hope bosche will do something I paid for a bigger mower expecting heavier duty the blade has a notch where the stone must have hit but its tiny. The flymo used to eat rocks bend the blade back on itself and never stopped working ide just hammer the blade straighter now and then damn kids throwing stones around the garden. Edit was fully refunded but they didnt tell me what the issue was. Was 209£ now its £229 out of stock. But I just found it at screwfix for £179.99 so win win. Unless that one faults within the first hours too. https://www.screwfix.com/p/bosch-universal-rotak-650-1700w-42cm-electric-lawn-mower-230v/751kg

    Vaping

Hi I'm looking to buy a new ecig it's been awhile and I've never really followed them. Right now I have a very old totally wicket intu vape with an aspire triton 2 tank I think it is. The best tank I've ever used by miles 1.8ohm clackton coils or something it was a beast I liked it so much I even brought another tank after the shops had stopped selling them but now I cant find coils for it in 1.8omh. I only use one flavour of one brand juice just standard cheap totally wicked red label I think it is. Sherbet lemon flavour 18%. But latly my ecig doesnt feel very efficient feels clogged or the battery part isnt powering it like it used to plus I'm trying to savor the last couple of coils I do have lol so that isnt helping. I have tried afew new tanks and thrown them all away and carried on using the worn out triton I think it replaced the nautilus mayb. I can just never get the same feeling out of other tanks. I'm going to buy a rebuilable coil for it and give that a go but not confident. So I'm looking to buy a new starter kit since I dont think I need more than that but want a good one from ebay a good source on ebay around £50 if possible. Theres a couple I like but I keep buying tanks and not using them so dont want to do that again. The coils are always tiny little things and compared to the beasts I'm using I just cant get with them they feel like shisha pens the throw away things in comparison. Can anyone recommend one? That isn't sub ohm. Charges on usb. Has very good coils as good as the clackton whatever ther called. This one keeps coming up. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153923424389 This isnt usb which ide rather not keep charging batteries unless it's really worthy https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153900118927 Or just go with whatever totally wicked has to replace the intu which has been great tbh best I've had yet. I don't play around with settings or anything just set it to powerful without burning and leave it. I think its been 22-18months I've used that.
  19. Buggies get boring fast on flat fields imo they need a bmx track at the least to get full fun factor out of again imo. Not really fun to have a planted rc going in circles for long. Atleast MT's you get unpredictable driving thrown in and air from just about any lump bump or even tree. Skate parks much more common than bmx tracks. For garden bashing even less. The king of the garden is scale crawler types technique driving some obstacles along a boarder of the garden not one blip of the throttle to hard brakes kind of rcs you can play tag with them. I wasn't interested in those kind at all when starting up but fully converted now nothing beats them for garden fun. But the simplicity and ease of working on a buggy and them being built like tanks is a huge selling point I think most of us start with a 1/8 buggy as the man toy rc but many quickly trade them in for something else I think so best to be certain. Always consider used too if you can find good sellers with clean well kept models they are much better to test waters with. The money saved alone if it has acouple things needing attention it's a good way to get to know the car put your own spin on it. But best of all if it doesnt play out so well you can usually sell it on again and pretty much lose nothing. Vs buying all new then selling for half what you paid you can often find great deals buying other peoples builds almost new rcs at times with huge savings and no risk if losing that kinda money yourself. After being the guy who sold those kinda rcs afew times losing 100s each I swear by buying those deals now lol.
  20. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401858525398 Ide stick one of those in there they have afew options for motor choice just be sure it's the 60amo esc in the combo. They have 3300kv 3500kv 3900kv 4300kv options for the motor all £35. I honestly think it's as good for bashing than the vxl is. The vxl wins the programmable stuff mayb like kid mode but the goolrc is much much much cheaper and includes the fan. I know quite afew members have used them on here. Ask about them to get a better picture. But I love the one in my kids stampede 4x4 it's the 60amp 3500kv option only on 2s so far but is coming upto 2yrs in use. It holds its own next to my slash 4x4 with 1/8 combo on 3s my slash can blow it off but most of the time they look evenly matched that's what's shocked me the most. Its much tamer but still an absolute blast my slash is just insane but usually that ends up cart wheeling and my daughter looking like a much better driver. I couldnt be happier with it and I got it when they were new ish to market so £28 new it's gone up slowly since but still well worth it. I will buy them again 100%. I think others here have used them on 3s but I'm not sure of reliability but most of what I've wread sounded good. How traxxas can charge so much for theirs is nuts. I hope I end up with a 4x4 vxl soon then I'll test them side by side and have my money on the gool. Speed Temps Run time. Gearing till hot.
  21. Somebody bodged the shocks on upside down mayb they leak but they're not fitted properly into the arms that would be an easy fix probably. Being 2wd it wont be great on grass. Compacted dirt would be good fun or street but grass probably get it hung up alot being light weight and 2wd. I hated my slash 2wd for that. Idk how easy brushless conversion would be it was a popular rc so I'm sure its been done. Ide get a goolRC combo for it £30 ish new very good little system it's more than capable in our 4x4 stampede so will be great in this. I think its easily comparable to a traxxas vxl combo for 1/4 of the price. 100% my go to 1/10 combo now. So long as parts or rollers are easy to get for spares its probably worth a shot.
  22. Testing plastic paint compatibility?

I've got some thin plasti card a4 sheets I dont need would using one of those to test my paints work as well as testing it on abs plastic?

    I've gone with

Kustom canz 1 tin main colour.

    Plus afew tins of Hycote.

    Primer

    Matt black

    Lacquer and Matt lacquer.

I hope they all work with the kustom canz tin.

I presume it will work to test since people use the plasti card to make body details and paint them to match the body but wanted to ask.

  23. Look cool but will all depend on longevity I would have preferred 6-8 heavier spokes but still happy to see something other than dish. Split 6 still for me though. Whoa I just noticed badland mx buggy tires that's awesome.
  24. Mrs lost her engagement ring the other day and its looking worse and worse. Shes convinced its fallen off. Not misplaced.

Torn the house upside down and no luck.

She keeps saying it must be in the washing machine somehow I'm not convinced and checked what I can easily is there any chance its fallen through? There is a gap around the door seal I think is possible but where would it go if so?

Could it be in a filter somewhere? Washed out into the garden drain or lying in the bottom of some tank?

It wasnt a cheap ring either and I don't really want to replace it lol plus that one has sentimental value ofcourse.

Anyone else had this happen did it turn up eventually?

Definitely check the filters, over the years I have found Lego parts, small toy parts, bits of pencils, etc. Thank god my lads have grown up now...fingers crossed it turns up....

    3. spents

      spents

check around the seal on the washing machine mate, they usually have a recess thats moulded into the seal and stuff can get caught in there, also as QRC said above, there will be a filter/trap on the washer as well, ours is hidden behind a pull of panel at the bottom and just unscrews, found allsorts in there over the years,

as nick said an all check the trap under the sink(u bend) doubtfull it will have made it that far but ya never know,

also if you've had a food delivery just before she lost the ring, check in carrier bags or any other bag you got yer food in, my missus lost one of her rings once and it turned up inside an old carrier, it just came off when she was unpacking shopping ,

    4. RCbutcher

      RCbutcher

I didnt realise checking the filter was so simple lol. Found 41p and a peice of Lego but no ring. But atleast mrs isnt stuck on that now. She can search the Hoover lol.

I checked around the lip but nothing there is a gap I hope that leads to the filter and anything caught stays there so I'll check it again in afew weeks if still lost. I hope she finds it too lol. Thanks.

  25. It's all about space for me which rules out real seats the playseat is all I can do for an all in one. I prefer that idea too otherwise it will be either sitting on a poof or bolt upright kitchen chair lol. So can you mix and match fanatec pedal with thrustmaster wheels etc. Or logitech wheels. Ide like to stay as far below £500 as possible whilst still having a good set hence watching for used deals I don't mind used at all lol. Also turns out crew2 might support wheels. Not planes but street driving mayb the beat ps4 has. I love drifting the streets on that game. If only crew2 had police too would have been that much better.
