i was wondering why when i roll the cars, it sounds loud but still moved ok. when i looked on line, it says the losi spur gear is 0.5 mod but the lc racing spur is 48p. i also read its nearly the same pitch but not ideal, i will need to change the spur to lc racing ones as i am now using lc racing pinnys.
could anyone confirm this please?

I wasn't necessarily saying I agree with the whole IFS/trail/crawl thing, just stating the facts of how they are sold to be used.
You missed a very good one there, don't get too hung up on specs when you are starting out, it becomes a very very expensive thing to do.
If you see one you like from a mainstream brand just buy it, you won't get a bad one.

For me, I would go for the Traxxas Trx4 sport personally, there’s a minter in the sales section (if I had the money spare I’d be seriously tempted)
this comes from having approx 20 of the older scx10’s (which today is still a damned fine base to start with), scx10.2 which is ok but needs money and tinkering with).
ive had/have,
Approx 20 scx10’s,
1 scx10.2,
hpi venture,
ftx outback v1,
carisma sca1e coyote,
carisma sca1e lynx,
Rc4wd tf2 and tf2 lwb,
maverick scout,
tamiya dynahead 6x6,
axial ax10 ridgecrests x3
axial wraith x2,
axial xr10,
axial yeti in all 3 sizes and 2 or the 10th scale trucks,
axial exo terra buggy,
axial rr10 bomber,
cross Rc demon sg4,
and lastly 3 trx4 defenders.
plus having a go with a vast amount too that belonged to friends.
maybe more but lost track lol...
now separating the 2.2” trucks from the 1.9” trail trucks leaves me with only one recommendation to offer,
in my humble opinion, if you want a 1.9” trail rig, it has to be the Traxxas Trx4
yes it has a few bits that need attention granted but once sorted it’s a epic truck!
the genuine guys I’ve spoken to recently all agree that at this time, it’s the best of the bunch.
plus spares and hop-ups are out there and will be for some time!
sorry for the ramble....

Again, +1 @m4inbrain.
Do you really need a huge boot?
If not, consider a Mercs C class petrol (2004 - 2007) where they were galvanised after 2003 IIRC and less prone to rust...They just go on forever as long as the basics are seen to. Sometimes E classes will come up at similar prices to C classes. My neighbour has a E class wagon (diesel) I know he's selling for around £1800, having taken it out on a drive on some twisty turny roads, I was surprised at how well it handled and it's smooth power delivery and ability to slide (remapped diesel torque monster, huehuehue)
I clearly still get animated over 1:1 cars 😉
Dude the world is your oyster, just saw:
got 1500 budget
wanting over 100 hp, mine was only 70 and wasnt that powerful
bit bigger than the skoda fabia
You can find some really nice and interesting cars at that price point and spec lol.

Just one example, not personally recommending this car, but to give you an idea:

V70s and S40s are cheap as chips, definitely within the budget you stated, even good ones. 3 series, at least good ones, might be a bit harder in that kind of budget, but doable.
Good luck either way, the one upside is that you'll get your car quickly - we're 5 months into the wait, and are potentially looking at another 12. 😭

ok guys i am after a 1/8 brushless buggy. my first thought was going to be a vorza but as the parts are getting hard to get and its going at silly money i have now changed my mind. what would be your recommendation on another buggy please? perhaps a losi 8ight converted but im not really keen on converted buggies though. any ideas please? many thanks guys

I had the same thoughts as you Froggy about the conversions but I then thought nitros are more beefier than electrics so if I converted a nitro to electric I have the best of both worlds , strong chassis and some components and a brushless power system to go with it. Mine is as solid as a rock and has to be one of the best buggies I own to date. If you do it properly you will be grinning from ear to ear. (Just ordered a centre spider diff for one of my Hypers too)
