Not sure I like the idea of all this modular stuff... Will the individual parts be available separately? Oh, hold on, it's Arrma, there won't be any spares support anyway :D (sorry...)

    And a 35a esc in a chunky 4x4 1/10 MT? With a 12t 550 can...

Quite like the SCT body mind. Having said all of that, they're aimed at beginners and seem cheap enough on the face of it. Just hope they don't turn out to be more trouble than they're worth in terms of transmission strength and parts support.

Why do RC manufacturers expect people in UK to buy their products knowing full well that there will be no parts support. Its like buying a 1:1 car and the dealer telling you on way out of showroom "Good luck buddy as if anything breaks you won't be able to buy any bits for it."

You could attempt to source team Durango parts????

, as most arrma models are based on / rebadged team Durango

FTX, Please take note, this is a much more aesthetically pleasing depiction of a monster truck.

not that plastic fantastic, shiny, toy grade pile of poop you have just released. :good:

    Thank you, that is all.

These will have zero Durango parts on them, it was the 1/8 line which shared a "few" parts

Not to mention Durango have gone, and the treatment of said brands customers is the reason no new ARRMA product will enter my fleet.

The newest 210F was a capable carpet racer, alas the 410v5 not without it's niggles -  never did much with the SCT's or 8th's mind.  I do like the Outkast's shell ;)

I spoke to MS today regarding this and asking why they don’t have any parts listed on the Granite 4x4 page. They reassured me that they had full parts support but hadn’t linked it on their website yet...?!

Due to arrma being owned by Hobbico, and Hobbico filing for bankruptcy protection you may find parts support a little sketchy for a short while....just a guess

If they are producing and selling whole kits, I'd assume that parts may not be far behind. Seems to be a whole lot of negativity against Arrma for releasing some budget friendly brushed cars that probably none of us will buy as they aren't aimed at the enthusiast market.

I think the brushed MEGA range would be 100% fine and criticism-free, as long as they share the same metal gearbox as the BLX versions. However, I'm sure I read that the MEGAs only have plastic gears, which is a shame.

Not a deal breaker, by any means and they are still solid RCs. I would simply prefer the RRP was raised by the... what... 2 quid??... it would cost to have them all metal.

For me the 4x4 Granite for £200 looks like an absolute steal...especially when you consider the alternatives from the likes of FTX etc.

I don’t know what qualifies someone as an ‘enthusiast’ but I would be very enthusiastic about buying one if the parts were a sure thing.

The description on the Modelsports website states, 'Internal metal diff gears' while the Arrma website states 'Internal gear material: Plastic'.

I’ve seen some promising vids of the Granite. Not seen one in person though.

    Although this just turned up:

Raider XL BLX. Not ran it yet. But quality looks great. I had one on order from Modelsport for £199 but delivery changed to May. So bought this one off eBay for £216. Although retail they are £240/250 I think.

If the Granite is similar quality I’d say a great buy for the money and better than a Brushless Carnage. Although the brushless Carnage is pricey compared to a brushed one and aftermarket motor/ESC.

So really depends on budget. E.g brushed Carnage is £120. And still fairly speedy. And you can get pretty ok sensorless brushless setups for £30.

The Carnage has metal diffs though. I do like the look of the Arrma and the build looks to be more solid than the FTX but can the drivetrain cope with higher brushless speeds as well?

Also, that Raider is a beaut'.

    Thanks.

I know you are after 4wd and it’s a buggy not a truck. But being 1/8th it has the same size wheels as a 1/10th stadium. And for this money I’m not sure why people would spend £350 on a Rustler VXL instead. I’m familiar with Traxxas and like their stuff. But the Rustler is not £150 better.

Similar question could be asked regarding the FTX. Is the Raider £100 (or Granite) better than the Carnage?

Granite, yes. Raider isn't quite £100 more, I don't think?

You can feel the quality difference, when holding the Arrma Vs the FTX.

The Raider should get points for just being a proper looking buggy!
