  3. so I finished my lunchie in standard form!! As wanted to see how it ran an see if upgrades made any difference!! So the 1st thing i tried was the shapways bracket an bearings!! Bearings were great wheels just spin for ages on a tiny turn!! The shapeways bracket just didn't seem right not sure if limiting that point that is designed to move is right!!! So its been removed an i have fitted a 5th shock mod!!! Which seems to work loads better!! So next was shocks got some nice shiny absima shocks 75mm at front an 85mm at rear!! But when compressed made loads of noise so stripped them down emptied out the creamy white gunk that was inside cleaned an filled with some nice new shock oil!! Also changed springs too yellow soft ones!!!there fitted now an have made a immediate difference to my truck it handles so much better an doesn't make any nasty bang noises when i manage to land a little jump!!! SO I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND ADVICE AND FOR TAKING TIME TO HELP ME next upgarade is new motor an some tyre foam!!! An then a new car to play with!!! Cheers guys

  4. I saw a few of these built in the states and had to have one,it`s great for more bumpy ground and with the added Baja 5b wing flys much better than the standard C1. The chassis is about 5mm shorter than a D8 truggy,so i used D8 truggy wishbones and CVD driveshafts, the wheels with off road tyres are Agressors from the Lightning Truggy and i think the road ones were from the Savage options list,so it`s a bit of a parts bin special. Motor combo is the Mamber Monster Max with a Castle 2650kv running on only 4 cells,13T pinion from a Savage.

  5. Why do some people have to be so lazy with their for sale posts. I can't stand it when people leave a link to the eBay page or their photo bucket library. Put a bit of work into the add for goodness sake. Rant over.

  6. I have the kit that AJ posted and am very happy with it and it more than held its own against various other modified engines when I was racing and helped me get a couple of A final podium finishes in the nationals last year.

  7. Carpmart - the turbine's now Wren's flagship engine - the DC100 iKero. It puts out 10.2kg of thrust, idles at 45,000rpm, & maxes out at 160,000rpm. It's starter motor is brushless (in that little aluminium cap you can see), as is its fuel pump. The electronic gubbins is called FADEC - Full Authority Digital Engine Control - & manages everything from start-up to shut-down. All running gear has been removed, & has no brakes. It runs on normal paraffin, dosed with helicopter turbine oil (5%).

  9. Perhaps the most powerful monster truck ever built, with almost more power than you can control ... almost. The specially designed ARRMA NERO 'Diff Brain' is fitted with three separate, lockable metal differentials, helping you to truly harness all the crazy 6S speed and torque. The 'Diff Brain' also means that the NERO is essentially four awesome vehicles in one: Blast, Wheelie, Drift and Climb. Don't be afraid.... Source View full news article

  10. Hi Collective!! [Note - I have since this post, now added pics - thanks Tamiya dude! I hope they're not too big, I did opt for Autosizing down to 800px] Having been the continuously proud owner of a Maverick Blackout V2 with the requisite servo upgrades and a Zenoah GC290 4-bolt - I thought I'd out-do even that power unit... So the thing is now sporting a Wren iKero 100 jet turbine - (10kg thrust). It idles at 50,000 RPM, and spins happily up to 160,000 RPM. I was stressing about how botched the fit was going to look, but it almost looks as though designed out of the factory with it in! Everything else is still in-situ - apart only from the exhaust muffler from the Zenoah. I'm figuring that I'd like the added momentum for now, over the losses in terms of inertia. The curve of the engine fits perfectly atop the suspension-plate - then nestled laterally by the two posts which normally held the bodywork up/on. It's screwed-down using it's own engine strap - screwed into the top of the two posts (obviously cut). The back of it is simply then sitting on the roll-cage frame member - perfectly positioned for this role. It's not sitting directly on the beam, as the beam os lower than the suspension member, making for the engine pointing upwards - so the perfect spacer has proven to be the rubber strip that comes with a new petrol tank. I've laser-thermometered the whole set-up, and nothing should be heat-stressed - and esp not for the relatively short runs one would do. I haven't been able to run it out in a field yet - but in garage tests it managed to shove forwards two six-packs of 1.5litre Evian bottles, on very rough grippy floor, too. That wasn't of course the objective at the time, but is what happened. I've managed to get it to talk to the Spektrum (DX3, iirc) transmitter, thankfully. Thanks for all of your help and support over the years - esp Hebby & Nitroholic - it's kept me interested in the whole game, and has led me to what must clearly be a major watershed in my RC vehicle ownership experience! P.s. And none of this propane/separate source of blown-air cr@p to get it started - you can just walk up to the vehicle, switch on the receiver on it, pull the trigger - and it commences all procedures! 11. Looks really good. If you want bombproof, a rollcage is a good idea. My 3.3 tmaxx buggered off at full belt. It hit a18 inch tall ant hill. Rolled end over end for about 100 + yards. It only knocked the wing mounts off the proline beetle body.

  20. Maybe have a word with Nige and see if he could fit the head kit to a new long block for you? If he can't, I'm sure he will know someone who would. But if that's too much messing about, I would just get a Scotty Pro MX, either way you are going to get a great engine

  25. No surprises there. Remember I bought a not so nice condition first generation model so I would hope that any subsequent releases are better! I've got mine as reliable as I can now, the only things km on it are the fuel tank, shocks and engine lol. Just need a s9010 or s9020 for the steering now to stop my run of savox failures.

  26. I think Norco forgot to mention the slightly seismic role he's played in getting my car into said great working condition! I'd almost given up on two-strokes (having indeed been spoilt by the simplicity of turbines) - but he brought me & my engine back from the brink!

  29. DX4S is a nice radio, though I've heard of people saying they'd had trouble with spektrum with gassers - makes little sense to me as Losi supply spektrum's with there RTR's. Flysky gt3b is a good system, I've had a few and keep going back to them. Be careful ordering from China though as shipping can be a long time, DOA will be a pain and you could get customs. This one is in the UK, in stock and only a few £ more (cheaper than RCModelz still) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FS-GT3B-2-4G-3CH-Radio-Remote-Control-LCD-Transmitter-Receiver-fr-RC-Car-UK-M5O3-/131819335247?hash=item1eb10b6e4f:g:f1EAAOSw41xXOpT9

  31. Lunchbox or Pumpkin. At a recent race meeting loaded down with high performance 1/10th buggies the thing all the kids got excited about was a stock Midnight Pumpkin. Kids love monster trucks. I let a few use my Hpi Wheely King (better than the Lunchbox but not available as a kit) and they were laughing their heads off. Sure they roll over ALL the time, but the kids seemed to enjoy running over to right it as much as anything else.

  35. Was good to have you along Clive.. The X2 actually impressed me on a few fronts. 8s and your config goes better than I expected it would... The X2 is soooo much better quality than the one Andy K has. Better all round TBH (sorry Andy) The combo and motor stayed so low temp wise How bloody heavy it is, probably the same or more than a gasser How many big crashes you can have in 20 mins of running Now you've popped your cherry, are you coming again? You could come a little earlier next time...

  41. Just been out with my toys with the MRs and now she wants us to get matching R/Cs.... Im thinking of a pair of these... Only problem is, Id want to go brushless, do these have a combined ESC/RX? So id have to change radio systems if I changed the ESC? Also what Lipos from Hobbyking fit? Thanks

  42. This years may BHBF was its first run out since and the tranny problems have gone and the belt drive system is working great. Did snap a hub pin and lost a dog bone pin but was nothing that I couldn't sort there. The obr is performing great, not only was this heavy lump keeping up with the 5ive's, dbxl's ect. It was also overtaking them too
