  2. I'm glad I read this thread through first. I noticed the post about adding the spacers (provided) under the battery stay to add bigger lipos. Needless to say it meant I knew exactly how big I could buy before even owning the truck! As soon as I get back to the Mrs house (I live there mostly and all my rc stuff is there) I can do the steering mod I saw suggested too. Definitely best rc buy so far for me. I was crashing it earlier and wincing, thinking "oh well, that's playtime over..." then walking up to it and absolutely nothing was wrong. Still stunned lol Edit I like the little pieces of foam in the battery tray to pack out different size lipos

  3. Haven't updated in a while, finally sorted out the Bad Attitude... shut up fools... Crazy fool I can't take credit for BA unfortunately, he came from ebay, made by someone far more talented than me using a sand scorcher figure as a base but he finishes it off perfectly!

  4. Why are you doing this to me lol. The only thing stopping me buying that now is the colour. If it was red id already have it lol

  5. 2s is fine for most usage, I've never used 3s on mine, as geared properly it'll go 40+ mph on 2s, any more and it would be uncontrollable in my opinion. Check your gear mesh and slipper, then upgrade as and when you think you need to. I've stuck with my blitz through thick and thin and know a little about them as I've been through plenty of upgrades etc... So feel free to ask anything, the only thing I know nothing about is stock electronics

  9. Yeah, the good news is the engine runs great now, no issues with it firing! Found a small nick in the kill switch wiring under the engine where the wiring was resting on the chassis plate which was probably why we were getting shocks when cranking the engine over! In defense of the KM nothing has broken on it apart from the shock tower. Everything else is down to poor maintenance by the previous owner so from that point of view I'm quite happy with it. What I should have done is look more closely at this example before buying it and maybe found a better maintained one (or saved for the losi lol). Anyway, onwards and upwards!

  10. Don't forget though if your setting the suspension for the wheelies it'll handle like a dog in the corners lol! Itll just tuck under when you have the front soft lol! Itll flip over like deans was today, not by accident either he can do it on que lol! Watch! this! watch! this! and FLIP! It was over and straight to its wheels, parked lol! Perfect! Pmsl! But the Sc isn't renound for it cornering is it? If I had the sc id have the rear squatted on the rear and the front end up in the air, thats how my ovel race car was set up, its nose would come up like a speed boat anyway but its a good suspension setting for getting tucked in for the corners with the ar5e hanging out and get it ready for getting out the corner, Its all set up ready as I see it but im sure people well differ, but i bet I whip there ar5e from one side of were we are and back again, Only if it ant in a straight line though lol! I can put corners in a straight and some more, I was once described as a stabbed rat! Lol! But I love my baja atm mainly the suspension now it sorted, need some front suspension arms but there going to have to do for bashing, if it was racing then that would be different wun it! It would be done yesterday lol! You'll get it gaz, just be careful on them suspension setting if ya turn in fast it'll flip over im sure with the front being soft lol!

  11. Well, here's today's goodies. Picked them up from the Lego Store in Meadowhall today. Couldn't believe it when my missus lifted both of these off the shelf and headed for the till! Not cheap, but will keep me busy for a while.... KingPin

  15. Think you've sorted this but droop refers to how the suspension sits when the vehicle still on a flat surface. 0% droop = the shock is fully extended and supported fully by the spring. This is almost never a good idea. No travel for the wheel to fall into a hole/depression and rapid weight transfer to the remaining shocks. The vehicle will also always be riding high and have high COG. 50% droop = the shock sits half way through the stroke. It can move up and down by the same amount. 50% is actually a lot except on off road vehicles. 100% droop = the shock is fully compressed and has to extend for any articulation. Also not a good idea for anything that moves at any pace as you'll have no shock absorption but sometimes used on crawler to keep to COG super low but still allow articulation. My Scout crawler runs 0% droop and I hope the big soft 2.2's take any impacts. The combination of sprung weight (ie weight at the top of the shocks) and spring strength will effect the droops as will pre-load on shocks that allow it. It's another parameter to fiddle with until you like how it rides! Torque twist is always going to be an issue unless you really screw with the suspension design and get COG super low but smoothing out throttle input can help a lot and still let you go fast. You wont really notice when climbing.

Tyre glue all round, worth considering fitting these before you do:http://www.modelsport.co.uk/schumacher-1-10th-truck-2.2-foam-tyre-insert-soft-/rc-car-products/16890 Wheel nuts: plenty of cheap, aftermarket wheel nuts out there, unless you need any of the other components from the parts bag? Re the strange movement, old style speed controller or ESC?

  26. The torque on that servo is insane Don;t use a screw shorter than 10mm to hold the servo horn on or your warranty is not valid....or in otherwords...it will snap it. It's not a cheap servo by any means, but I would be surprised if anyone breaks one!

  29. Put a washer or 2mm plastic spacer between the outside of the wheel and the wheel nut. That should sort it. The wheels are on the thin side. Its a good idea to fit the Thumbs Design crush-tubes too, they go between the bearings in the hubs. Makes the bearings live longer, and means you can tighten the wheelnuts down a bit more without overtightening and binding..

  43. Now just before this gets into the old nitro vs brushless vs petrol argument, each have there pros and cons. It's all down to personal preference and places to run them. So let's not get into any slanging matches, it's a good job we all like different things, makes the world go round.....

  44. Ahhh, luckily the people in the next road are good folks and dropped it around! I've given DPD Parcels a piece of my mind too! Anyhow, back to business.. All seems in order: These tyres look and feel nice- some decent ribbing inside: Foams might need inner edge trimming Nice bag of juicy bits: l worried about this servo fitting- it's very tall!? Should sit ok in chassis, but I'm concerned it might foul centre driveshaft etc..? I have to say the feel of the plastics is very good- this is my first Axial rc and I'm already impressed..
