yep conservationist here and you should not be cutting back any wood or braken. its ok to clip some parts that may overhang a path and hurt you or other users, but you must NOT dig what you need to do is wait untill all that stuff has dies back, then you can see the defined footways and the natural humps and bumps formed. using your feet and a stick you can brush away to make a new path, then its just making sure its well used to break it in. land registry office - local council, councils are more likely the owners if its like its never used etc etc, its because its under wildlife management and allowed to coppice up2 points

I've decided to strip the orange anodised aluminium parts back to their former glory. I wasn't feeling the metallic burnt orange look2 points

Micro crawler wheels are 8mm hex but the 1/24 SCT wheels are indeed the same type of fitting. Anyway just ordered these from MS so with any luck they'll arrive tomorrow. Cheap enough for the set of 4. Red and chrome was the only colour in stock but rings are easily repainted. John2 points

Firstly, twisted wire connections are not good (as you have found out - the wires could have shorted together and blown your charger). Should be soldered and protected by heat shrink, or better still, no joins at all. Simply buy the appropriate (Tamiya) connector on Ebay and solder it to your "bare" wires. As to which wire goes where, this is a little problematical. Convention suggests that the white line denotes negative (black) so the other would be positive and connect to red BUT, you can't be sure of this, depending on what that black twin wire is connected to and whether original. You really need a multi meter to check the polarities, but I bet you haven't got one! To my mind, essential for this game, but amazing how many people don't have them - you can get a cheap one which would be perfectly OK for jobs like this for a fiver (or even less) if you shop around and probably less than a months rent on your Iphone - which isn't essential - you could get a half decent meter - which is! If your charger has reverse polarity protection, it wouldn't matter if you connected them the wrong way round - except it wouldn't work; if it hasn't, then its risky to re-connect them without checking polarities first - could damage your charger and/or battery.2 points

I'm still undecided, I do like the SCT look, but also really liking the caged look. Might get some lexan and make some panels and see what I think after that1 point

Keep saving and get the PMT, anything else is a compromise! As I've said a few times now, other than my 5ives's it's the best RC I've EVER owned and I've had a few!1 point

Just be careful, you've put pics up of a stump with a saw resting on it. Honestly making any change to land you don't own can put you in serious trouble.1 point

What phone do you have? I make videos on my Note 4 in 1080p at 60fps then take screenshots from them, the results are excellent. If I'm taking photos I use Sports Mode (fast shutter speed)1 point

Good luck Mate Octane are a complete PITA to upgrade any thing to with the radio system. I know I have 2 of them. Do as rc Butcher says. Bundle up all your servo leads with cable ties and try insulating the receiver with aluminium tape.1 point

Try to get the antenna above the spark plugs mate. Are you using the spectrum 4ch receiver they have a long antenna so it should be possible. It sounds really hit or miss using spectrum with 2 stroke. Lots of guys say they have no issue then alot say they do have issue. I have the dx4c but haven't tried my baja yet.1 point

Got the chassis finished up and began the shell a few days ago, firstly laid a silver down, then over the top with matt lime green, looks pretty cool! The silvers for me to scotch down too to create a metal effect, so I can weather it properly. Going to get my sticker guy to make me some 'Tom's Garden Services' stickers made up with some corny bush trimming pun . To go with the workhorse theme I thought I'd add some ply lining.. I've left the springs for a few days to see how they'll settle with some weight on them, but the shackles still seem to over stretch themselves and lock out..1 point
