New Nitro 4.6cc not starting

Hi guys, I got a new 4.6cc 1/8th Nitro RC Car and there is fuel in the fuel lines but it's not starting, I had a 2.5cc about 6 years ago and we had no idea how to use I don't even think we broke it in correctly but this one I've not even been able to start, the pull start isn't stiff, just not sure why Its not starting ;-;

you need to check the manual for the factory needle settings and adjust the needles to that

in the picture it looks like the needle in the gold part is screwed in to far so check that 

you also need to make sure the fuel line is full all the way to the carb 

also take the air filter off and check the throttle slide has a 1mm gap at idle , dont run engine without the air filter 

also check the glow plug is ok also may be worth checking the glow starter is fully charged

this is what i would do:

 

sort the needles out first.

prime the engine ( i tend to pull the pipe out the of the exhaust and blow hte fuel into the carb)

heat the engine up with an engine heater 

pullstart the engine

Check glow starter is working by removing glow plug and placing it in the glow starter. Always pays to have a spare glow plug to rule out defective one. Try starting it with wheels off ground, electrics off and carb slightly open.

As above....if you haven't got a heater use a hot air gun or even a hairdryer to get some heat into the engine before trying to start it (especially if it's new).

also once you have driven the car up to temp then you can start tuning it, only tune it when the engine is up to temp though.

 

if the engine is new then you will need to run it rich, keep it on rich till you have done about 3 tanks full.
