  1. Are you still active mate? I've got a question about boiling plastic parts to make them more flexible.

another thing, you need to make sure you stir them otherwise they will stick to the bottom and the shape of the plastic may change or melt due to touching the bottom of the pan.

lol yeah that seems like an important point, I will do thanks 🙂

  2. I'm a little tied up for the rest of the day but I will get on taking some pics for you tomorrow.
  3. I have a Marder I was getting going. I would be happy to sort a deal with you on that if you like. It needs an RX pack to run. The air filter failed on it so i bought another one which i haven't fitted. I think it'll go on but if not one of them would be needed too. I was going to play with it for a bit and sell it when I got bored anyway. It has various upgrades from Alloy engine mounts to a Extra Large Single servo.
  4. Going with a Fail safe too. This is what i was thinking of getting. Does anybody have any negative experience with any of these products? Fail Safe http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=49347.html Battery http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=38298.html Charger http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=50481.html
  5. thanks guys. Butcher, my Servo is an extra large servo so the extra voltage is fine. I've also ran normal servos on 7.2 volts int eh past without issues. I find it speeds up the servo a fair amount but is only suited to metal geared servo's.
  6. Hello Folks, I bought a 1/5th a few weeks back now that I'm yet to use. I'm hoping to get it up and running this weekend now that i have finished moving house. I got rid of the Battery pack that it came with because a cell looked a little past it. With that much weight flying round i don't want it to fail and cause some serious harm to someone. so a new one is needed. I have been looking into LiFe batteries because I like the idea of being able to charge my RX pack and TX pack from the same charger. and also the LiFe batteries are at 6.6v instead of the normal 6v so the servo i have will have a little more punch to it. I have looked on model sport to see if they sell a Life charger and battery combo but it seems they only sell the charger. Does anybody know where i can get a good quality charger and battery for not too much? I don't want a charger with a million features, just something reliable. I have seen this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Power-Li-Fe-Battery-Charger-Pack-1000mAh-6-6V-1C-2S-for-Receiver-Flat-/400792216332?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item5d5113e30c ...But i don't know if it's any good. As i said above, safety is something I am concerned about. I really don't want to have this thing hurtle off because of a failed cheap battery and really ruin someones day. Any and all suggestions are welcome. If anybody has something they are looking to sell that ticks the boxes, let me know as I'm in the market. Thanks in advance Luke
  7. Folks, I recently picked up a FG Marder and need a battery for it. The one it came with had corrosion on the cells and I didn't trust it. The pack needs to come with a charger and be in a laydown config as opposed to a stick config. I'd prefer it came with Dean connectors but I'm happy to take anything on really so long as it's in good shape and safe for use. Let me know what you have. Cheers Luke
  8. Yeah it came with all the stock parts too so I can swap it back to stock if I sell.I've not sold a large scale before to be fair. I don't see it being a problem though. I already have someone eye balling it haha
  9. Thanks butcher. My plan is to just get it running nicely. I'm not throwing money at it as I'll probably get bored of it like I did my others. No "rc friends" in Milton Keynes. The reason I got it is because I couldn't find anyone to buy an air rifle I had but a guy I knew was interested in a swap. Rc cars I've never had a problem shifting.
  10. Hello Folks, I packed in RC a little while back but wound up picking up an FG in a part exchange trade with a friend. I've not had a petrol before and I've been looking at all the bits and pieces people recommend doing and so on. I have a few questions I hoped some of you guys could help with. where is the engine identifier on the engines generally, I cant see one to know which engine is fitted to mine. I understand a decent air filter to get is a HPI Baja one. There is already a decent one on there but sadly there's a chunky hole in it so I'd rather sack it off than chance it. I quickly looked on ebay for a complete filter assembly but the only ones I spotted was a single foam layer. in the past with nitro I have had a dual layer filter and put a little bag over it. Where can you source these as a complete package for an FG? It seems the guy who owned this before the chap I got it from had upgraded various bits all over it with metal. I have never been a fan of using alloy in the past as it tends to bend. My car has a alloy rear wishbone set. Would I be wise to put the stock unit back on and just flog the alloy ones on? There are other alloy upgrades like gear carriers and such which are obviously going to stay. I have read the 1/5th beginners sticky thread. Thanks in advance Luke
  11. If the sale falls through please PM me. I would be interested in buying at
  12. Ah I didn't spot the lack of cables. Just pinch one from an old phone or something.
  13. Take it to a cex mate. They will give you 40ish cash and 55ish trade. Or asda tech r with cyclebis usually pretty good.
