Paid RC kit building services in the UK?

Does anyone know of anyone that might offer paid kit building services in the UK? I have recently purchased a Tamiya TA08 Pro kit but have not got the time at present (nor expertise just yet) to build it up correctly.

I don't think there's such thing. You could see if one of the admins here for example would be willing to get paid to build it, or a trusted member - but that's a lot of faff for what's essentially just giving in to anxiety. 

 

Just open it and look at the manual. Building a kit might look complicated, but it's pretty simple once you start getting an understanding. That understanding only comes from building though, so if you utilize other people to have your kits built, that won't happen. It also is going to help you later down the line when something goes wrong with the RC, since you know where what item sits (as you've put it there). 

 

Time constraint is  more understandable, but relatively easy to work around - just compartmentalise. Do "three pictures" in the evening, it'll finish eventually. If you don't have the time to build it (shouldn't take more than a few hours if you're concentrating on it), you also don't have the time to run it. That's just my thoughts on that though, if you really don't want to build it, see if there's someone around here from Derby or surroundings who'd build it for you (or spend postage and send it to someone).

As above comment build it your self, Youtube will be your friend on the build, and take it step by step, one tip invest in decent screwdrivers/hex drivers, a while back i built a tamiya MF01x and was concerned but it soon clicked and became an enjoyable build

Joking aside. Building your own kit allows you to know exactly how it is put together. So if something goes wrong or you want to upgrade you know exactly what to do.

 

Building you car is part of KNOWING your car.

If you've bought it from Modelsport you could ask if anyone there would be willing to do it (usually they would do so in their free time and charge time). But this is totally down to if anyone is up for it.

All good advice, thank you. I have a baby so perhaps I was over-estimating how much time I would have available for this hobby!

If it's any help we had our third arrive back in September. Since then I've managed to just about find enough time in the evening (after the bigger kids are in bed) to finish up one build that I started just before the baby arrived and start and finish a 2nd build that I picked up by "accident". This certainly wasn't the quickest way to get to a working car but it was quite nice relaxing in the evening spending a little time with the tools out on the dining table.m It's surprising how well the kit builds work if you fit them into little time slots as you can normally work through one or two of the instruction steps in any 20-30 minute windows you can grab.
