Hi u lot! Been ages since I’ve been on here so just thought I’d say hello. 1/5 petrol has largely taken over for me at the moment.

Still have my x v2 but a mate is keen on it so it may go. Ran it in the snow on 1/5 paddle tyres just to try it. It was okay ish.

So what’s the latest Xmaxx mods?? Looks like massive motors / pins/ Spurs!! ?

hope all all good guys regardless. Happy 2018!?

^^

Looks nice

I'm getting a unbreakable raptor body myself,  I was going to get the white version.

But I am holding out till March time now as I want their new upcoming metallic silver colour (my perfect colour!).

There is also a blue colour coming out before the silver also.

Made myself some battery strap holders from carbon fibre last night, work a treat.

Main reason is so I can try some taller batteries.

I've been thinking of getting some Turnigy Graphene 6000mAh 4S 65C/130C batteries but they are quite a bit bigger than my current Zippy's.

Anyone else tried the Turnigy Graphene 6000mAh 4S 65C/130C?

 Turnigy Graphene

I cant tell any difference between Graphene lipos and standard lipos. It's all smoke and mirrors. I've got Graphene 5000mah 4S and Zippy 5800mah 4S. I wouldnt bother unless they are on offer.

What motor are you running though with your xmaxx?

Stock V2 8S motor. Perhaps you may see a difference with a more powerful/amp hungry motor. Comparing battery performance is usually subjective and as yet not come across any meaningful objective comparisons. Just sceptical that there is no significant difference for most bashers.

Thought as much.

With a stock motor no wonder you can't tell, it does not draw nothing like the amps my motor does.

Look forward to a sidebyside lipo comparison.

Do you have issues with non-Graphene lipos?

Looking about I think I'm going to go for some Gens Ace 6750Mah 4S 70c/140c batteries.

They seem to be pretty highly rated and better than the Graphene's.

Amp rating is not a standard measurement as far as I can tell so some suppliers may exagge

My motor is the Leopard V2 58113 (8000w/1050kv).

My 40/50c Zippy's do fine to be fair for regular bashing etc no no problem there.

I've ordered a pair of Graphene 4s 6000mah 65/130c to try (can't have enough batteries anyway) which I'll be using more for speed runs as that's where I'll notice the difference most. I might try a pair of Gens Ace 6750Mah 4S 70c/140c later too.

Just as well I fitted my straps which I have to say is a much nicer and neater way to mount the batteries, as the Graphene 4s 6000mah would not fit otherwise.

What does it look like underneath though with all them nuts ?

If they get hung up on something could they break off or worse case get ripped out and trash your chassis ?

Or did you go nuts up which may damage your lipos if they move ?

Needs some better pics before im convinced on this move please but agreed it certainly looks I lot better and easier to change packs :good:

Nuts are up inside, something of which I'm changing to some domed versions when they arrive in the post for added neatness.

Batteries won't budge mate with the straps, they are very secure. I can pick the whole weight of my truck up with the straps holding by hand so I think they can handle the weight of the lipo's. When they are strapped in they are staying in!

Little update, I've actually cancelled my order of Graphene 4s 6000mah from hobbyking and instead (after looking about) for a bit more money you can get a much better spec battery from Ludicrous Lipo's. Nice that it's a UK company as well, reviews on them seem very positive so I'm gonna take a punt on these as they seem to be the best out there without importing from the US. They come with a 6 month warranty for piece of mind.

What was the delivered cost?  Do you know what the warranty actually covers as often not worth the paper written on?

£206 (pair) delivered.

Be interested to see your thoughts on these two and half times the price of the zippy compacts so I hope there atleast twice as good !

Fantastic size and weight very impressive indeed :good:

One thing that gets me is if there really as good as they say they are why use a crappy 100a max deans connector ?
