Hey hey everyone. Not been on here in ages! Sharkfat mate. Saw at bashfest that u had an xmaxx... did not bring mine but will next year now there is a ramp. Last year I also stripped my stock gears, well, the 46t spur and stock pinion I was running. Since then I have just used the original v1 spur gear ( plastic) I had laying about from my 1st Xmaxx. After market std cheap pinion and it’s been absolutely fine. Quiet too and those spurs are really cheap anyway if it does strip out. Im running a 50t spur. Might b worth a go. Personally I don’t like the racket a metal spur/ pin mesh makes anyway and potential to save the drive train too if it’s plastic. I ditched the pin traxxas mesh setting method too. Just take the pins out and set it yourself. I felt the mesh was too loose, others say too tight. Just set it yourself.

Hi mate. I have been around rc bash groups and have made a fair few friends that are into the 1/5 scene big time over the past cpl of years and as I result my focus has also shifted on to 1/5 and petrol 2 strokes. The idea of the hybrid platform ( your pic is if the outlaw hybrid kit that rcmax is distributing here in the UK... is a development from the idea of the diy hybrids that have been becoming more and more popular amongst particularly the big bore 1/5 guys. Ocbaja originally I believe did a kit v1 and then v2 which was a similar kit idea again rather than a diy hybrid. ) ...is to mate the better steering and realistic truck panels/ cage and durability of the 5t losi platform with the strong drive train of the baja. On the +50cc engines people are spending a fortune on front and rear diff setups plus cd on the losi platform and still breaking drive shafts / diffs etc. There are upgrade baja parts that take the big cc abuse better. So its it’s kind of a means to an end in a way. We are taking about 85 and 90cc rc engines now. It’s basically accepted that only the baja ( upgraded to the max still) drive train can even stand a chance of taking the power. There are hopefully upgrade drive train ( drive shafts) mostly parts on their way at some point. Most likely from alx in Italy. A fair few are doing well with 71cc in 5t losis too. To illustrate i run an alx super 50. 50cc relatively low budget build. I snapped 3 std drive shaft ball ends clean off at bashfest in August this year. 3 separate runs. Im considering doing a small bore 30.5cc hybrid build over the winter. Just to try it out.

Hi all. Not been on here for a bit... was checking out the udr thread but ended up here as usual. Here’s a vid from me. Taken last week in the wet. Weather been so poor I’ve not been running much... The xmaxx though i thought could take it. Will need to do a bearing strip out now due to all the muddy water. Great fun and although I was considering selling it for a new rc...( udr/ erevo2/losi sbr/ rovan shortie baja) using the big x definitely sways me towards keeping it! It’s so much fun to use!!

It’s a 2200 kv motor. Xmaxx v1 was 1600 from memory. My xmaxx v2 ring and pinion gears have been fine so far. V1 broke 3rd run out maybe?... spur and pinion shattered tho ( once so far) might get this udr in time. £800+ is too much for me just now. Looks great in that vid tho. Fast. Id like it just to annoy all the 1/5 gas guys I run with. They by and large hate electric rigs. I like petrol/ nitro/ elec myself.

Traxxas udr is the topic right? How’d we get to 2wd starter 1/10 buggy’s? Lets getback on to the udr. Anyone have any new info or vids on it??

Hmmm. That’s a shame.... £800+ at msport. Not surprising but that’s too much for me sadly. I was considering that same order as dody from the US.. but I’m understanding from the dodsters post that the £630+ import is not on?? tbh I have spent crazy money on a 1/5 engine recently. The kind of money I never thought I’d spend on an rc no matter an Rc engine! £1450! That kind of makes this truck reasonable... it does look the part. And from what I’ve seen it has a beautiful suspension action! Love the cage, body, wheels, just the look of it. Its typical traxxas plastic fantastic but that seems to work perfectly for traxxas on other rc’s so why change? I agree the little wheel nuts are a bit of a shame. If anything just limiting the use of other 17mm hex options. Plus the possible weakness as was mentioned above. If they work well though it won’t be an issue. A £699 price would have been good. I remember back pre ordering my Xmaxx v1 from modelsport at £650. Makes it seem like a real bargain now. ( at the time I’m sure many felt it was too much! ;))

I got to say the more I’ve seen the less I’m keen. ESP at £800+!! still looks really cool tho. I’d like to see 1 st hand.

Oooo. Something from traxxas I want again...( Xmaxx b4) might consider selling my xv2 to fund this thing. Definitely looks the part. A bit smaller than I thought it would be and the 6s ( instead of 8s) is a shame... 2200kv too.. hmmmm. Would think a lower kv setup would have been more sensible. We’ll c. MD... going for it eh! Nice 1. I’m tempted myself. Shame its not out quite yet as im off to NYC Saturday.

hi all. Putting my big xmaxx up for sale. More of a needs must thing as I really need to free up some money for my 1/5 stuff. Its an 8s v2 rtr including charger ( traxxas id) and 2x 4s 6700 traxxas lipos. £750 Its wrapped in a joker designs custom body wrap with my Chanel logo on but this could be peeled off. Body is washer’d and shoe goo/ drywall taped up. A few spares like rear hubs / bearings. / spur. Tools /,manual. It’s in very good condition. Scratches to the body and skid plates being more notable wear. Running upgrade rpm front and rear bumper mounts and rear hubs with oversized bearings. Stock motor and esc. You can have the max5 esc as an extra for £125 on top of the rtr car price. Would much prefer a cash on collection to a PayPal/ post deal. Cheers.
