Could be water in the RX, open it up disconned the leads and let it dry out, wouldnt advise hair dryer that will just evaporate the surface water not water that has ingressed in, if the motor is beeping the esc might be fine.

ah possibly, before I bought the waterproof box last week it got soaked in snow as well and I thought the range had gone a bit.

ok will let it dry out overnight, is there a recommended upgrade for the RX and still using the same transmitter? should I just buy another ET1152?

Just trying power on and transmitter the red LED is not flashing off and on anymore on the receiver, but no idea if it would if the ESC or motor are buggered.

Ok so friday the new chassis from jens arrived with some extras in the box  so I'm well happy and many big thanks  for the parts

So I swapped over my parts from the busted carnage chassis to the new one

Which at the start.when it was on the table it looked daunting.  But I thought take it slow  take off what.your all ready taken off before  so that was the complete front end and then the back end   which left the middle of the car

So swapped that then added the NEW esc from jens to my carnage  so out went the 20a   in 60a esc . Once it was all set up time to see if it works   and it does   its ALIVE  ha ha ha .  So today decided to go out with the cars till I seen it bee  snowing  and ruddy freezing outside   so iv been driving around the kitchen and hallway    to spot my carange is twerking     WTF  . Why is my RC car shaking it a butt .  Then I relise it's the back wheels looks like the barings in the back wheels are shot . I find been outside would not seen this  but as its 2 ft away . So if orderd new barings   carnage is in pit stop AGAIN ..... not told the mrs   .  Hope the snow stays a week till posty arrives .

well done for doing the swap, im sure you will sort this problem, you have come a long way since you first joined

Iain is having now the Motor/ESC/Bottom Plate from your red Carnage.

This ESC seems to travel a lot before it gets going.

Well as I said  i swapped over the whole car to another chassis as my daughter crashed it . When i talen it apart i also spotted another breakage i forgot about .  I found the part its £4.69 free post .  Where the top plate screws into the gearbox housing there is two screws to  hold the top.plate to the gearbox housing   we one them screws has ripped the gearbox housing off . So it's only holding the top.plate to the gearbox housing with one screw .

So.now I got to strip that down to get to change the broken housing case.

Which is all the cogs so   again incentive done it I'll feel more confident but at.the moment its aaagagagghhhhh .

Can I change the mood to something positive? :-)

Just finished assembling my spare Carnage...

IMG-5164.jpg

A nice Hobbywing Max10 60A Combo with a brushless motor.

First test run with 2S Lipos in the kitchen went nice. No cogging at all.

And it's powerful. Almost bashed into the kitchen cabinet.

Tomorrow the new smaller 3S Lipos will arrive.

The old one's I bought were too large and couldn't fit. Lucky I could still return them.

The new one's have the same measurements as my 2S Lipos. They will surely fit.

But I am facing an issue with the transmitter and receiver.

Sometimes the signal from the transmitter arrives at the receiver with a 2-5 second delay.

It's the stock Etronix set.

Does anybody has a similar experience?

An hopefully a solution... :-)

@DavidBH:

Did you solve your problem with the battery size?

If not, this is what I ordered and coming tomorrow:

 https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B089YNL95B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The measurements seem promising for a perfect fit.

does it fit and the Carnage's factory tray?

what ESC have you got that can handle 3S?

The battery will arrive within the hour.

Will try then and post a picture.

Got a Hobbywing EZRUN Max10 ESC in a combo with a 3652SL 4000KV motor:

https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=420923

or

https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/collections/combo-special/products/ezrun-max10-combo?variant=27757683857

First test run with 2S this morning in the front yard was very promising.

Got a really good punch and speed. No cogging at all!!

Better than the stock Carnage/Bugsta brushless combo.

But I am worried that 3S will be destructive to the drive train. But I will see this afternoon.

Battery arrived and fits perfectly:

Note the padding on the left.

Battery is actually a bit shorter, so some padding is needed.

I am now out to bash!!!

Hi guys

was wondering if you could help me confirm the picture is indeed a broken FTX6325?

Does anybody know of a better solution as this is breaking far too easily?

FTX6325.jpg

Try these ..

FTX Body Post Aluminium - Carnage FTX6355

FTX Aluminium Upgraded Front Shock Tower  FTX6200 For Carnage, Bugsta, Outlaw

These are alloy so I guess these are the upgrades.

Just went for the first test run with the 3S Lipos in the muscle Carnage at the nearby sports field.

Awesome power!!!

Even when the throttle is at 50% I could still do wheelies.

But it is not easy to control the car.

I need to step up on my skill levels.

My kiddo on the other is already at the higher skill level.

He just enjoyed that power.

But then the fun was cut short.

The pinion went loose despite using threadlocker:

IMG-5165.jpg

And while he enjoyed the Carnage I wrecked his Bugsta.

Shell and wheelie bar broken.

Man, is he angry with me now...

Back home, back in the pit stop.

3S must be mad: at time mine on 2S fails to turn in time and I have to use emergency reverse

YES! MAD at 3S!

I took a closer look at my pinion. I ordered the hardened steel set from David at ebay.

And guess what, it was the Vantage version with the 17 teeth pinion.

Carnage/Bugsta have 12 teeth.

No wonder the Carnage was flying across the field.

Since we prefer punch over speed I just ordered a 10 & 12 teeth pinion with the same pitch.

i take it you tightened the grub screw up onto the flat bit of the shaft ?

hmmm breaking the lads Bugsta i dont know  tut tut but youl fix it

Grrr. Yep. :boohoo:

And now he wants a clear shell and me painting it like Herbie.

But I don't know how to paint a shell!!...

I blame it now on the El Cheapo threadlocker.

Should have gotten the original Loctite.
