  1. Great antp will give it a bash just wanted to know it was a must but had a feeling the answer would be yes
  2. Oh my tyres arrived from eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154220196248?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 quite a bit bigger and look great. Quick question do you have to glue them on? What happens if you don't do they fly off? Will do a bit of you tubing later to see the best way to glue. Thanks for the recommendations made a good birthday treat for my son and I also look forward to giving them a thrashing. Think it will also give slightly better firing clearance so less likely to break more bumpers and my glued up chassis.
  3. We broke the chassis in the first day as well. Since then I have the front of the car looking like one mass of glue but really will need to get a new aluminium chassis. If anyone has a link to an Ali express etc pop it in here as I bet there are quite a few people who would buy them.
  4. Thanks guys as always. So I presume these wheels will not ballon the same way the stock ones do? The lagging you put in do you glue that together or just fill the inside of the tyres. As they are bigger and if I do not change the gearing am I right in saying that will mean less acceleration but a higher top speed as same number of revolutions of the motor will mean same number of revolutions of the tyre but because of the increased circumference it will go further hence faster but slower acceleration? That would actually be good as we feed the throttle in it constantly wheelies anyway! Sons 10th birthday on 26th May so spot on timing. Will nip to B&Q and see what sort of foam they have. Also 1 last thing what sort of glue do you use (CA is that contact adhesive?) David
  5. Not been out with my son for a while then just remembered I hadnt got him new tyres. Due to the speeds involved now I think I need something much firmer for the carnage 2 with the hobbeywing brushless motor etc. Any thoughts on these or are they too cheap https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193997892791?hash=item2d2b2cecb7:g:JvMAAOSwCChgXlGf or someone here mentioned these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154220196248?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 but it does mention they are soft. Thanks as always for any advice.
  6. Will that's the end of my one and only idea that you may not be getting enough torque from an NiMH. One thing I did do to my gears when I rebuilt is I sprayed the gears with silicone to try and cut down on friction. Could the meshing be too tight?
  7. Are you still using the NiMH batteries? I found I had to push the car to get it to move do jumped to 3s lipo and no issues now except high speed crashes and I believe running out of power too quickly.
  8. Where did you get them from? Very tempted... I seem more interested these days then my son in the car!
  9. There's always someone with a bigger one😁 but how well do they perform when it's dirty...... I think the inserts have desintegrated my tyres are very soft! Old age!
  10. They look great. I think a few more days oh high speed running and I will need new tyres. Not tried the nail varnish trick but tried to take the present ones off the rims and thought they are likely to be damaged. Need to set aside time for programming, maybe messing around with the low voltage cutoff and seeing if I can get good speed data from my running watch to see if I can get a speed from the car.
  11. Is that a carnage 2 with aluminium chassis, struts can carbon fibre top piece? Very nice in deed. Just found a thing called a Speed Flea or was thinking I could just attach my running watch to it!
  12. Do you have to deglue the tyres from the rims and glue them on etc.? Ran the car yesterday flat out lost control and it did a 3 x 360 sideways barrel roll. DIdnt break the mudguard or the shell, so shell stregthening has worked. I think my battery problem is simply the battery running low on power. We battered it for a good 30 minutes flat out, then it stopped. Turned it off and back on again and it ran again for only a few minutes. Came home and let it all cool down, a few minutes at slow speed in the back garden and stopped again. Multimeter out the https://www.modelsport.co.uk/gens-ace-battery-lipo-3s-11-1v-5500-50c-deans-/rc-car-products/447265 had 10.47V at the terminals. I think the low voltage circuit is kicking in. I read elsewhere that set to low it kicks at 9V medium 9.6V and high 10.2V for a 3s LiPo. Not sure if my wheels are actually pointing in the right direction having just looked at it! What is the cheapest gadget for measuring the speed of your RC car?
  13. I hope it's not another motor or ESC issue, will see next weekend when we get out again.
  14. Just the max 10. It really goes like the clappers and we were running it on a local closed golf club so were running it pretty much first out over and over again. It was still wheeling every now and then at full power. I have a video on my phone but been trying to compress and put it in here. Will look at doing that tomorrow maybe
