Been working on several of my cars but mainly enjoying doing some little mods to my Losi SBR 2.0 truck. Decided to try taping the insides of the tyres to try to stop them ballooning as much and whilst they were apart I painted the bead locks blue.

 

 

Unfortunately the colour is a little lighter than I was going for but it's my own fault as I used a white plastic primer when really grey would have been better. Still a nice bit of colour and tbh it is kind of close to the blue on the King shocks. 

Crazy how long they took to reassemble though even with an electric screwdriver ~ over an hour and a quarter to do 6 wheels/tyres!

Started a new build.  Again lol. This time a half car ar60 crawler.  Nice and simple.  No extra ****.  No lights.  No 2 speed.   No nonsense simple fun to drive car. Need to order come carbon to make rear bed sides/ shock mounts

This time I'm going to try and keep it simple. My scale build and comp rig is for silly amount of mods and custom ****.  I want this to be a grab and go car for the times I just need to go for a crawl.

Raced it (in a fashion)

First race night at Surrey & Hants Radio Controlled Car Club, really enjoyed it, first round a few technicals put me out second I managed 5th out of 9, third the track was getting damp and I had zero traction so was 8th and similar story in the final.
Great fun though, a lot to learn too, but a great friendly club.

On with the CC-01 Defender 90 build front end lower ams, steering, uprights etc. all in place, so, on with the rear diffs after a spot of lunch and a bit of shopping.

Well today didn go as planned, brother in law broke his pull start on his savage x and then blew the pinion and spur on his xmaxx, and I broke the Montana bein stupid an takin it on loose gravel and I also cooked the front brake so need to order some new bits for that🤣🤣 he's now strippin both his trucks ready for next Wednesday and I'm strippin mine down to check the diffs and ordering some new brakes and possibly a diff lol

Fitted a new steering servo horn as the old one kept coming loose resulting in loss of control 😒

 

also fitted the proper actual  sway bar for the RBX10 rather than my home made one, I think I prefer the home made one but I will see how it goes.

 

Shims have also arrived for the diffs but that jobs for another day as i need to order diff gloop and other gloop for other bits before i can fit, I may also need new diffs as the old ones have been slipping a fair bit.

Got back to the CC-01 build and found steering was seized, I guess I shouldn’t have used thread lock on the step screws 😟

 

All loosened off now, will come back to them later, now on with rear diffs

In other news, alert the press. We broke the Rustler 4x4…. Cracked rear bumper mount and lost a hinge pin screw….. cant moan!

Just about finished the new build. Got a front stinger Coming next week off a mate. Going to make some carbon shock towers for it at some point to. Might paint the body. Not sure yet.

Got the rear diff built and in the axle housing and on to the rear of the CC-01 

 

I have actually got a YR rear four link conversion for this but having never built one of these before it seemed like a good idea to build the original to give myself a better understanding of where the upgrade should go and looking at the model and the YR instructions I’m pleased I did.

 

Thats a job for tomorrow as I’ve been volunteered to cook tea tonight.

 

So hopefully tomorrow rebuild rear end with YR kit and get shocks done.

I smashed the body of my Tamiya Rising Fighter so today I converted it to a Himoto Truck shell and added some super bright Cob LED headlights.

I wouldnt have gone green with the bits (probably red for the alloy, black for the plastics, but this cost me £250 second hand all done (as a roller) by the time Id sold the extras it came with. As opposed to a grand doing it brand new so Ill live with the green 😉

Getting on for a year ago I bought a 3d printer with the intention of printing some cool/useful things for my models. Nearly a year on, several roles of filament and a tonne of little boats later I finally used it for something RC related 🤣

Totally worth it!

Not today but the most recent maintenance on my FTX Carnage involved making a small brace to support a new front bumper due the chassis holes being trashed as they are a weak point.

 

Also had to patch a minor crack in the body, used some gaffer tape to strengthen the underside and wide clear tape on the upper shell. Bit rough around the edges but I am to cheap to buy a new shell atm 😂

CC-01 Defender 90 re-built at rear with YR four link conversion upgrade, also made a start on shocks but only got the rods done today, hopefully back on it tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours.

Just about finished it off ready for a test and it ****** it down. Always the way lol.

Just need the front bumper and to make some carbon shock towers for the rear.

Centre box on the bed is for a rad or battery and bits.  Not sure yet.

Not a terrible job however the masks weren't great and leaked in a few places. 

 

HPI really did make some nice shells, hopefully we don't see them faid away.

Front axles, C hubs & steering knuckles etc. disassembled to allow for clean-up following my mistakenly using thread lock on the steering knuckles which seized the steering up.

 

That thread lock goes all over the place when you use to much, not that I should’ve used any.

Decided to see if I could swap the internals from one of my HS183xx cars into a Toy grade Lamborghini I got at for £2 at a charity shop.....the fun part is I have no clue what I'm doing 🤣

 

Also a slight difference in motor size 😬🤣
