  1. Is it me or have lipo's double/tripled in price?
I was looking at getting a Kagama but will need to get a charger and 6S batteries again as i sold everything a while ago but the extra £300 or so for 2 batteries and a charger makes me feel a bit sick 😂
CNHL used to have BOGOF and they were worthbuying then but even they are expensive now imo

no idea i havent had to buy any batteries for ages now.

Yea theyve gone up, best bet is Amazon right now but obviously its a bit of a minefield

  2. Anyone seen any good deals on 1/8 Hobaos or Arrmas before i buy an ST Pro? 🙂  (UK)

is the sst not weaker than a st? scotty try a corally shogun, it handles similar and comes with a rebranded max 8, just spent 60 quid on shogun wheels and tyres for my st a while back and it handles simlarly 🙂

I gave up with Corally after the hassle with my Kronos XTR. I think the back end of the SST is going to be too bendy and fragile for what i'll be doing with it and heard the ST Pro was better built.

I normally charge them in an ammo tin in my bedroom on the windowsill so if there's any sign of fire i can throw it out the window 😂 I've had it apart to have a look and it's melted a little chip near the pos/neg port so channel 2 is screwed now 🙄

Cheers guys, need them for my Hyper MT hubs and you never know what the quality will be like getting them off ebay. Didn't realise they had a legit website! Ordered some anyway!

RC Bearings are a solid stockist for all RC sized bearings. Been using them for many years with no problems

      JonnyUK

I've bought many sets of bearings from the RCBearings website and have no complaints.

Also, if you have a model which isn't listed on the site drop them a message and they can usually put a set together and add it to the website quickly.

  5. Has anyone ordered from Hobao USA since brexit? Just wondering if i'm going to get hit with any tax on $65ish

I recently received some bass  parts from Stewmac in the states and there were no import / customs charges at all. Order was of a similar value approx £50

      Cool thanks

  6. Just got a Hyper MT Plus ii, Took it out twice, no hard jumping and it's **** already, rear CVD keeps popping out and destroying the drive cup and nowhere in the UK has the +1mm ones in stock until mid June which in reality will probably be September.  Only option would be paying nearly twice the price from Germany. So ****** off right now.  🤬🤬🤬🤬

These, they're not in any manuals as apparently you can't even buy them unless you contact Hobao, I've got the ones on the left in the pic but they don't provide enough support to stop the rear hubs wobbling left to right. With them both attached the hubs are now solid.

Got them on today, Make such a massive difference, the rear hub is completely solid now how it should be and all the slop gone.

Thanks again for finding them @oranjedrol

  7. Anyone got any discount codes for Aliexpress?

yea none of em work though

i've ordered now anyway, next time! 😆

  8. How much faster do you think a 120C lipo would discharge than a 70C?
Just looking for some new batteries, the 120C are 600 more mah and £5 cheaper, i'm guessing the extra 600mah would negate most of the extra discharge rate? or have i got it wrong and it won't really be any difference?

      Scottyb

yea i will do, i was expecting it to turn up yesterday but parcelfarce f'd me over so not coming til tuesday now 🤬

yea they are the orange and black hardcase ones. I thought they were pretty good, they would last a good 30-40 mins on my Kronos and the punch was pretty good, i had 500k in the centre diff and on punch 2 it would always wheelie on command. I didn't really get them for the punch though they were just the cheapest highest capacity i could get at the time. I had 100C goldbats previously and i would say they were on par with them so would imagine the 120C is probably a lie and would be more around the 90-100 range.

      BashingBrian

Oh, don't get me wrong they are still very good batteries, just not as good as described in my opinion..👍🏼 You really can't beat them for value.

    4. danny boy

      danny boy

Quickly to add to what to what BashingBrian said. I was watching a video from a very knowledgeable guy on YouTube (can't remember who now, was a while a go). But basically the industry method for deciding C rating was to look what your competitor was claiming, and then adding 10 to it. It's basically the reason why C rating for LiPo's has skyrocketed in the last few years. CNHL is apparently one of the worst for this. I'm not claiming CNHL are bad. I'm 90% percent convinced they are just re-branded Turningy batteries, which I always found excellent.

  9. 10% off at CNHL in his video description 🙂

My batteries arrived today. These seem to be re-branded Turnigy lipos. They are exactly the same size and weight and even have the same moulding error in the plastic case. Not complaining about that because my Turnigy packs have always been excellent 👍

  12. Anyone with a Hyper MT Plus 2 on 6S, Can i have your durability opinions on it? Regular (1-2 times a week) 10-12 foot jumping durability? Selling my Kronos XTR atm and thinking of getting one to replace it with!

    1. BashingBrian

      BashingBrian

I too would be interested for input on this as I've looked at the Hyper MT Plus II recently..

Gotta ask, why you selling Kronos XTR ??

Take a look at Stephane's channel, he the MT+2 and I know he beats the snot out of it 👍🏼

    2. Scottyb

      Scottyb

I've seen all his vids on it lol and I just really like the look of the MT. Don't get me wrong the Kronos is great but most of the mud tracks near me have either been closed off, turned into houses or demolished and speed running across fields isn't really my thing. The only place really near(ish) to me now is a gravel BMX track that isn't maintained and a couple of abandoned quarries which are too rough for the XTR. I think with this i'll be able to take it anywhere and not worry too much about it.

I was looking at these before buying the XTR but couldn't afford the extra £300 or so at the time and i've seen probably 2 for sale second hand in the past 6-7 months so they can't be too bad if people aren't selling them!

  13. Any tips and tricks to getting the ESC screws that keep the fan/lid on to catch a thread when it can't anymore? Got a loose one on my max8 and couldn't find anything on good ol' Google.

    1. .AJ.

      .AJ.

Superglue the screws in, they will still break free if you need to remove them

  14. Anyone use CNHL packs? Seen a few reviews on youtube but you never know if they're getting "paid" to do it. Thinking of getting 2 8000mah 4S packs as they're only gonna cost me about £80 after i've sold my 2S packs!

  15. You have to watch what you say on face💩book now, i just got banned for 2 days for saying "i would have ripped your arm off at that price". What the is the world coming to. I get banned for a figure of speech yet everywhere you look it's anti-vax BS posts. Talk about priorities!  🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

These lot are round my neck of the woods, in person they seem really nice - and @turok007is right, they're doing well. When I asked how they coped with lockdown, their answer was busier than ever lol...

I only have bought simple bits from them and never needed CS so I can't comment how they are on that front!

    3. RcBEN9

      RcBEN9

RC shops have short memories, pre-pandemic they were all crying they were on the verge of extinction due to online stores.  Now, they sell out out of overpriced Arrma stuff as soon as they get any stock.  Give it year and we'l see how many people are able and willing to spend 700 quid on a 1/8 RTR 😆

  21. Do you think a tower to tower brace is needed if you have a bash bar? I'm not spending £75 on a 7075 bash bar, i can make my own 10mm thick 6082 for about £12 or a tower to tower for about £9. I'm not sending it 40 feet in the air, 6-10ft max

    1. Bajadre

      Bajadre

best advice is too start jumping small scotty til you feel comfortable landing on all treads then move up your jump size shouldnt really need any of that crap on a rc tbh if you master your landings just blown shocks haha 😅

  22. Does anyone know why it takes model shops so flippin long to send stuff?
Modelsport £4ish next day but takes them 4 days to post it, MIBI and Wheelspin the same.
Only decent one is RCGeeks with £2 postage and is actually next day delivery but don't stock anything for my car(s)
