  1. Just ordered an Sequre SQ-ES126 Mini Electric Screwdriver. Really interested to see whether it has the torque to deal with my RC screws. Hopefully it will deal with 1/10 m3 stuff at least.

I have been looking at them but they seem a tad expensive for what they are so I will keep using

my Bosch IXO which I also use for simple drilling tasks.

Do let us know how you get one with it.

Yeah I've kept an eye them for a while because the cost put me off. Found one eventually with 10% off and then stacked a promo on top to get it for £55. Still more than I would like but a good discount.

  2. Been looking at these. Are the screws a standard thread that could be replaced or just a generic coarse thread kinda deal?
  3. Weird. Tried to join a Facebook group, submitted the request, answered the question to confirm I had read the rules. Immediately banned and blocked. I think that is the quickest ban I have ever had 😆

If you don't have many friends on FB  that is sometimes the issue

  4. I remember Ansmann kind of half cloned the hyper 7 at one point. A lot of the parts were not compatible, but some bits were very good and were cheap upgrades. Namely the shock towers, they were a bolt on fit but used more mounting points which massively improved the strength of the shock towers and diff housings.
  5. Credit where it's due. I bought something made of glass on Ebay. The seller did a terrible job of packing it up. Literally just put in a box that was too small and taped up the open end with no protection at all. Not even a fragile sticker. I thought for sure when I saw it that it was going to be damaged. Cut open the tape and there was no damage at all. Parcelforce did a good job on this one!

      Oh How Original

I hate when people put labels and tape over the original box, even not rare ones, I don't know why but something about it bugs me.

If ever I have to do it (some people will vouch for this) I actually ask the buyer if it's okay to do it or are they happy to wait while I find a box to put the original box inside.

      I've done that many times.

    3. turok007

      turok007

If the box is pictured  then it should be treated like you have paid for the box.  With me i always cover the box  otherwise it might tempt someone to steal the parcel.

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Well yeah that is another thought, but with tracking these days, it's risky, although the company may not be honest about it, they will know who has stolen it, a chap I know on here works for Parcelforce and he once showed me how much tracking there actually is, even Royal Mail non tracked/signed parcels are tracked the whole way lol, everything goes through the same channels.

  6. What's a reasonable time to wait before contacting an Ebay seller about not receiving an item? Delivery was expected to be the 14th Nov but not had anything yet. Shall I give it till Saturday as that's one week over or should I wait a bit longer?

I would just say what day was it posted and do you have a tracking number.  so i know when to keep a eye out for it.

    3. monkeyboy_uk

      monkeyboy_uk

A week is reasonable. I had an item recently that didn't show up. I contacted the eBay seller after a week and the replacement arrived today.

I think royal mail is backed up too. I got a red card and on it says that royal mail might even deliver twice per day to catch up and deliver until 9pm or 10pm.

      Hopefully its slowly coming mate.

  7. I like the mk2 just as much as the mk1, so I really don't mind the model choice. But I do wish they chose to do a standard shell instead of a full rally prepped shell. I'd have painted it red and done a replica of the car below.
  8. First picture from the Modelsport FB page. Looks decent, maybe a little squished, like it's not as long as it should be? Minilites look good though.
  9. Good news! The body is available on it's own as a clear shell. I have pre-ordered mine, had no use for an MF-01X in all honesty. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/?product_id=1334539&fbclid=IwAR02HL3Fp6ave_f7v4d6azwQwGpGj13_qZOScbT6_3V6FG_ANAkxVwZpvuY
  10. Without a doubt on the to buy list. Shame it's not out for Christmas, makes it harder to justify in January 😅. Wonder if it will have rally arches or road spec. I really hope they follow up with a MK1, I always thought they were just a little prettier than the mk2. Not that I would turn down a mk2 though!
  11. Agreed. Fair play to Redcat, they've done something I've certainly not seen before and it looks cool as hell. New concepts seem to get a lot of stick in this community. I guess that's why Tamiya are still killing it selling kits first released in the 80s.
  12. What kind of scale accessories are people after that aren't currently available? I'm all done with my projects and getting kind of bored.

    1. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

I think most stuff is available tbh, I guess one thing you could do is check out Shapeways and see what stuff is expensive for us in the UK and recreate some of that, to end our need to shop in the USA?

    2. danny boy

      danny boy

It would seem that way to be honest. Never mind, I'll crack on with something else. I'm thinking a Cosworth YB engine for a touring car would be pretty cool.

  13. It would be interesting to see if any of these clones actually share parts with the real thing they copy. Something like the HG Tamiya bruiser clone. I bought a Leopard motor years ago and a few people told me it was just a cheap castle knock off and no comparison to the real thing. Now it just looks like they are two of the same thing 😁
  14. Can't believe it's happened again. For the second time in my life  I have picked up a can of WD-40 thinking it was a can of deodorant. Got very greasy armpits now 😖

  15. The joys of used cars. Sometimes you've got to admire the amount of effort someone has gone to in order to do a job completely wrong. A job that was easy to do the correct way, but through sheer determination has been bodged together for no apparent reason.

Is this a square peg in a round hole or something even more unique? 🤔 😄

  16. With the wheels off the ground the front left does seem to have excessive play. Looks balanced but seems to wobble when turning. May a smashed bearing or broken hub?
  17. A weeks worth supply of cable ties
  18. An amazon delivery driver just knocked on the door asking for an item ready for collection. No ones arranged anything for collection as far as we can tell. Seems a bit strange. I had an item delivered on Saturday but definitely didn’t arrange to return it.

I was in the garden the other a figure appeared at the gate he said delivery. I saw it was take out saying I didn't order that he checked the slip saying oh its #10 lol.

Then I thought damn I better start cooking I should have just said how much lol.

Had better than that a while ago...we were woken up at 2 in the morning with a pizza delivery......"is this number 27 ?"  NO .....it's not *#@% 0*# 🤬

  19. My first ever rc car was a Maverick atom. Must be almost 10 years ago now. It’s the only rc car that I never ever managed to break. The thing would stand abuse all day long. It’s a car remember fondly. If I could find one for sale I’d buy another, but they never seem to come up anywhere. Back then I don’t think they shared a platform with other brands like Himoto, so they used to be able to make good stuff. Not sure about this though.
  20. Trying to explain to my Uncle how to spot the Space Station flying over. I say to him, "look outside at 5 past 10 and you may see it going by, it will be moving west to east". To which he returns with "Oh, so will it be coming down Middleton road then?" No Fraser, I highly doubt the space station will be coming down Middleton road tonight 😆

I want to see it cos one night I saw something streak the whole sky in a blink and it wasnt a shooting star. It had no trail of light and it didnt fade away.

Just a perfect white light twice the size of the biggest star streak the whole sky then vanished.

That night my mrs said look a UFO I laughed at her and didnt even look typing away on my phone but when I did I saw that light streak the whole sky. No idea what she saw but mayb i saw the the space station but I do wish ide looked up when she said to 5-10min before.

  21. Hmmm, bought one of those Turnigy trackstar servos from Hobbyking to see what they're like. Not a chance in hell they meet the rated specs advertised. I have another servo rated at a much slower speed which is still quicker than the Turnigy.

    1. GMballistic

      GMballistic

Which one was it (model number)?

I almost bought one myself but ended up going for a Power HD servo in the end as I've already one of those which I know is good for the money.

    2. RCbutcher

      RCbutcher

I like the look of those turnigy servos too. I heard mixed reviews on them. I think I brought a TS900 or something years ago but never installed it to the FG in the end.

      Not ts900 I just looked that's 1/8 but a 1/5 version.

if i go cheap servo now danny i always go with alturn from MS now under £20 and rated properly

we've had best success with 2mm lexan, we tried 1mm but it cooled down far too quickly and wouldn't pull in tight to the mold

  23. Should I be worried about this dog? It belongs to one of my neighbours. But I found him locked out the house today and it's really freezing out. I bought him back to my house until his owners arrived back and collected him from us. He is a Chinese crested dog. His nails seemed way too long, and his nose is red and raw on the top, he smelt pretty bad too, but some dogs just do smell I suppose. He was extremely affectionate, but very nervous. Didn't really seem like he was keen to leave when his owners came. Such a sweet dog, just hope he is being treated right. Should I be concerned or just keep my nose out?

Personally for me leaving him locked out of the house at this time of year is a form of abuse/mistreatment so yeah I'm with @spents on this; anonymous call to the RSPCA so at the least he'll get looked at to make sure he's okay and maybe it'll make the owners think on.

Regarding the nose/skin thing the dog looks like he might be a mix with a "Chinese Crested Dog" so there skin does tend to look like that.

    3. Oh How Original

      Definitely report.

Putting a cone on a dog purely to stop them biting their paws IMO is a serious form of torture, poor things paws are probably sore and itchy from not being bathed and overgrown nails.

I wouldn't be able to control myself if I witnessed it, so credit to you to be fair.

Definitely report it though, you might only have circumstantial 'evidence' but it's more than enough.

    4. Bajadre

      Bajadre

Report it man better to be safe than sorry that nose doesnt look too good either :(

  24. Nice dude. If I may offer a couple of little bits. On my build I found CVD's were pretty important, the only CVD's I could find that would fit were for a Tamiya CV-01. Standard tt-02 CVD's are too short. You may also remove the bit of material on the front suspension arms behind the hub carriers. This allows the carrier to drop right through the arm and allow for much more suspension travel. I've been running like this for a while now with no issues. You already nailed the stone guard. Suspension components are off a TA-05, the car is basically a TT-02 with the corners off a TA-05, should serve you well if your looking for upgrades!
  25. Is T2shop.de a legit site? They have a part I need at a massively reduced price to everyone else, like 90% cheaper than any other supplier. Seems too good to be true.

If only people would apply that motto to everything, and not just some select situations. 🙄

After going through their facebook page and the reviews, they're absolutely fine. They even invite people to their warehouse to pick stuff up, and have "Open House Days". They're a registered "Ausbildungsbetrieb" (they take apprenticeships), meaning they also are subject to federal scrutiny.

And of course, there's a news article about them.

Just order it, it'll be fine.
