  2. So small update, now fitted the Duratrax Showdowns, in the end i used the original plastic beadlocks from the Texan as the metal ones i was using did not leave enough thread to securely hold the wheel, i di fit weights to the wheels so each wheel is around 110g, much better than stock

  5. These CNC aluminium axles were only just released last month so usually that means you can either order via AliExpress or wait 3-4 months and they will be available in UK and USA. The Cross-RC website is notoriously slow to update so I'm not surprised they are not on there yet. Greens Models is the main UK supplier of Cross-RC parts. You could always contact Simon Green there and ask if he has them on order. Other than that there are a couple of options on AliExpress. The AT4/JT4 models have the portal axles whereas the XT4 uses the straight axles. The part numbers of the portal version are 97401047 (front) and 97401048 (rear). The part numbers of the straight versions are 97401049 (front) and 97401050 (rear). I was tempted to buy the new XT4 but since I already have an AT4V I didn't order one yet. Certainly I much prefer the hard body to the polycarbonate one but the XT4 is quite a bit more expensive than the AT4/JT4.

  6. The 2.2s definitely throw off the metrics of the car. Not sure if it's just because it's not what I'm expecting to see but I'd be going for 2.0s! I think Schumacher still make classic CAT sized tyres which I think are the same.

  8. standard size servo for transmission like you say a 15kb will do it okay, its a scale trail that will do well on a lot of crawler spots

  9. Thanks @BashingBrian! I think for the motor I'll definitely go with the Hobbywing Fusion Pro, from all the videos and reviews I've seen it looks really good. For servos I'm probably going cheap from Aliexpress, probably a DSServo 35Kg waterproof, but I'm not sure about the transmission, I'd imagine it doesn't need to be strong for that, 15Kg should be more than enough. Also, just to confirm, this thing takes standard sized servos for both the steering and transmission right? I think I'm going for the pickup and I'll probably paint it yellow, I like how the yellow they have on their website looks!

  10. I bought yet another hpi savage xs off ebay 🤫 I can't resist a good bargain Was spares or repairs as they said it only worked in 2wd 🤔 Anyway fast foward a few days and it was delivered A quick inspection found that a bolt had come out the rear drive cup A little visit to my spares box to fit a replacement, a little bit of lock tite and it was good to go 💪 Here's a little video of the Mrs giving it a shakedown 😁 Need to glue the front tyres as it spat a foam during a high speed run 😂 VID_20221003_051936.mp4 VID_20221003_051936.mp4

  11. Had a great time at the UK Scale Nationals. We only did the 500 gate ale trail but had a blast. Both my TRX4 and my brother's Knightrunner survived with no breakages or missing parts.
