  1. I used to post here pretty often and still check in every few days. But given I have no rc cars (and probably won’t bother again) I don’t find much here for me. On the other hand I am really into my quadcopters and flying wings, so focus most of my attention there. As to the thing in feb..... didn’t make the blindest bit of difference to me! In this hobby things don’t really change very fast and there are only so many ways you can do any given thing with a given model. So new threads are few and far between because people search and find someone who’s already done it, thereby solving the issue.... Forums need to innovate massively for the 21st century to stay relevant and tbh I just don’t see it..... All that being said I will lurk here till they turn the lights out probably @nick you have done a great job driving this place and nothing I have said is in any way meant to be taken personally.

  2. It's been like this for a while now, maybe 5-6 years it's been declining. There were several UK forums going, all very busy, Maxbashing (now gone), UKMicroRC (now gone), Oople, to think of a few. There is a lot less forums and still less members. I checked our Google Analytics and in 2014, last month had 40% more traffic. My opinion is that it is because of mobiles, we had in 2014 a very small % of visitors on mobiles, less than 20%. Now it's over 65%. Forums have done a bad job of being mobile friendly and still are, the lightness and ease of Facebook just seems an ease go to for talking and sharing RC stuff. There is a definite correlation between mobile users and traffic (I've got 15 years of data! So sorry ego-maniacs who think leaving in Feb is the issue ) Back when the forum started in 2004, people would get home and just leisurely chill on their laptops or computers, using a forum was much more pleasing on a browser. We didn't have phones. I'd like to think it would pick up again when IPB release the new mobile friendly version and get a bit more with the times.

  4. Proper shakedown run at an old stomping ground, for followers of the thread, you'll recognise some places in the pictures probably. I love this electrics set up, this motor is unbelieveably good (it was in the Bomber too, but for slow crawling it's fantastic) proof positive that it's complete crap who say "you get what you pay for" this outperforms motor 3-4-5x the cost. Hate these tyres didn't think I'd get along with them somehow on my other little run locally, so I've ordered some Ottsix Voodoo KLRs to try, being a faithful Pitbull lover, it took a lot, but a set came up cheap, so thought I'd try the Voodoos. Also riding home today and I saw a place that looks awesome for crawling too, so we might be trying that this weekend, hopefully to give the new tyres a try too. All in all a really good crawl out and I got some nice onboard footage too following the Scout most of the way round, so that video will be coming too when I finish editing. Here's a bunch of pictures. This one will make more sense when you see the footage. An audience, but not the usual sheep!

  9. This happened a couple of years back - around November time a UK store (may have been Apex, can't quite remember) would put all their prices up then at the beginning of December would announce a Christmas Sale where they "slashed" their prices back down to where they were before

  10. I would have said that sounds more mechanical, i.e. motor but I had an esc that made that sound like that so, as above, one or the other.

  12. A friend got a Kanyon and quite likes it, got about 25 mins on standard battery but now has a 5200 2s lipo in it, it is very slow compared to my FTX Mauler pick up, but it is a nice crawler for the sensible price, BTW if you dont mind the buggy style, then a mauler is a pretty good crawler
