First Thankyou every one for you help and expertises in guidance for a novice and buying his first RC car. After advice on the kanyon, and Mauler for my needs I was given advice on the Outlaw my friend who wants to race brought a hobby king Desert Rat ?, I know nothing about that car. Mine is on its way to me it’s the brushed one as it’s not as fast as brushless so will be great for me as a novice. I brought it on Black Friday offer it comes with 2 extra batteries so with one in her ill have 3 I think they are 180s so very slow but very fast for a novices. LiPo much later on once I know what I’m doing?? so im not doing any mods until I actually break something except may be a engine noise simulator, some advice would be welcome on what Spares parts I should buy as stand bys some one surgested pkt small cable ties and roll of duck tape. which I have now purchased well just waiting now. Ps if you at to buy your first car who’s would you have chosen the Deasert Rat or the FTX Outlaw no other choices I know my spare parts are good and later when I gain more exsperice on driving her I’ll up date to brushless one of my Christmas presents im might buy is a Ess engine noise simulator would it fit into a Outlaw or does any one know of a make that would ??? thats all for now folks try and post some photos when she arrives From Frank

No I didn’t buy one after a lot of bullying my friend and I decided we want to race on grass/ gravel plus do wooded tracks not much crawling so I went with a FTX Outlaw he went with a hobby king Desert Rat ( I cant remember seeing a Desert in uk ) ?? so most of my posts will be on help with mods for Outlaw thanks

Thank you for your help so far, I've read and digested all the advice you have given me over buying FTX kanyon and other FTX models. My friend and I have decided on getting the Outlaw due to the fact He wants to race on grass and I want to trail wood paths not so much rock climbing, hes competitive so this car will suit both are needs So just a few more questions [emoji54][emoji50] One as brush motor one a brushless Motor it said they are both Warter tight Would we as Novice guys get any benifits from spending nearly a £100 More for a brushless motor one Nothing to tech [emoji44] Pros Cons would be great thank you If we buy same car will either controller Work or are they tuned to each car ??? We both saw a utube clip where a guy Runs is Brushed motor in a cup of water so we are taking it as if a brushed motor is ok and will run in puddles or small slow water would that be correct please ??? Last one good people Battery and charger we want a battery That will last about 45 mins so what would be a good one to get and where from So now charger would like said battery to charge in 1-2 hrs min 4hrs also do they have universal lead conectors? ? Yes it as help a lot , I’ve been looking at reviews. For the Outback from some guys called RCGEEKS they said a solid entrance crawler for Someone just entering the hobby Pros were price And construction Cons battery time Servo steering went on there test but they put it down to a defective one Engine lacks power on very steep inclines with rocks Apparently some one as already updated the engine with a 5.5 one so bases are covered I personally like the all metal parts inside So I’m going with this one also getting a faster charger and a up grading battery to one last longer May get 2 or 3 and keep original as a get me back to my car park[emoji1787][emoji1787] Another question [emoji42][emoji42] The radio control it comes with What range are they used at And if for some reason the car goes out of TXs range does the car stop or carries on at last TXs Command ??? Last one for now Bearing in mind it’s not for competition just fresh air and fun What other bits should I need to keep me up and running is there like a pack with tools and bits that type of thing. Hi ? all I’ve have a budget of £200 max to buy a crawler. its a mine field so thought I would join you and ask your advice.... i have my eye on a FTX kanyon ive asked on another forum about it just wonder if some one on here as actual got one, I’ve seen the vid on utube about its faults nothing To drastic I would like to know running time of battery that’s surpplied its a 1800mah 7.2v driving a 60T high torque brushed motor my friend recons about 20min if that is so what battery would you recommend I buy with it for more running time as a 2nd battery ??? also how long do they take to charge with the standard charger what comes free with it and can you get a charger that charges from car lighter i do have more questions about this crawler that’s why I would like advice from some one who as one thanks this crawler is 1/10 so it’s the right size I don’t want it for competition or competitive trails its just for enjoyment and getting out in the fresh air thanks for any help
