  21. I don't think the 2028 will fit the vader, there was a long running thread about them, it had loads of info on upgrading them. Trouble is, in something of that size, you really need 8s compatibility if you want serious speed and I'm not sure the vader drivetrain could handle that. How many ESCs can handle 8s? Not many and they're usually big bucks. The 1717 might give it some oomph, but you need someone who's tried it to tell you if It's worth it.

  23. The clutch bell should spin freely, it should have a tiny tiny bit of play in it. Sounds like the engine has moved, re-thread lock the screws and set the mesh with paper as said. It's quite hard the TS4N, and bits are cheap so don't panic
    1 point
  24. Picture3 is the clutch bell (has the little gear (pinion)) on it. The flywheel is the bit behind with the knurled edge. Maybe you are lucky and it just needs the engine moving to get the gears meshed again......but it could be bent chassis, broken engine, broken mounts. Have a good look at all of it. To reset the gear mesh get a piece of paper (not thin newspaper) and fold it once, put the paper between the gears and then move the engine to trap the paper and tighten the engine mount screws. No need to use excessive force and recheck after tightening the screws...hold a finger on each gear and rock back and forth...should be a minimal amount of play...

  25. AS above MCD monster truck wanted what have you got! Many thanks

  26. Rovan engine build quality.... It's really not worth bothering with dirt cheap engines. I would rather have a Zen/CY 2-bolt than a poor quality clone 4-bolt. Makes no difference how many bolts hold the head on when the plating strips in 5 minutes of use.

  27. Doesn't sound like you've bust anything. Just loosen the engine screws and move the engine back making sure the gear mesh is set correctly. Not sure if it should spin freely my nitro days were over before they started.

  39. I'm in Belguim at the moment at the EFRA AGM, I was having a chat with a guy from Croatia, he's having the same issues as you guys - he bought the mayors son a largescale car, now the council is bending over backwards to help - it does work.

  40. Forget the bashing/rallying. Get yourself along to CSOR (at Lesmahagow) for a look at the racing. http://csor.co.uk/wpress/ Bashing is good, but racing is more enjoyable, plus a load of Nitro gurus there to help out, I certainly put there skills to the test

  43. The important difference is literally the number of bolts holding the head down. 2 bolts have 2 fixings at opposite corners of the head. 4 bolts have 4 fixings with one at each corner. This means you have more even pressure holding the head down. Means it's less likely to blow the gasket, less stress on the mountings too. In stock tunes, 2 bolts are fine, but as you start to squeeze more from an engine, crankcase pressures go up as the motors are revved higher and you will get gasket failures, cracked heads and so on. 4 bolt is going to be more reliable when pushed hard. Given the choice....the 4 bolt is the one to have

  48. Clutch tuning is one of the most important aspects of 1/8 scale nitro racing. Using the best-suit clutch system under different track conditions will help you get podium at the races. Thunder Inovation now provide you with this 4-shoes Pro One Clutch System which provides ultimate performance, great tunability and flexiabilty, ease of assembly and long lifespan. The shoe design also provide much more contact with bell . Three types of flywheel for different track conditons: Light(Aluminum): Used on high traction surfaces and to provide a little extra bottom end snap from your engine. Clutch engages easier and faster. Medium & heavy : Used to tune for low traction surfaces, as well as to smooth out low RPM power delivery on engines that have a strong bottom end hit. Assemble direction: Put the clutch shoes with springs into the flywheel pins, place the outer clutch retainer over the assembly with spring posts aligned with notches in the retainer, and give the retainer a twist to load the clutch springs. Disassemble direction: Remove the clutch nut, and pull it off the crank, done! Come with: 4 pcs of 6061 premium aluminum shoes 1 set of flywheel 1 pcs of harcoated clutch nut 1 pcs of clutch collet 1 sets of springs (0.9/1.0/1.1) 2 pcs of 8*12*1 shims Link: RC4ME
