  1. In a try to drive us media guys totally nuts Team Durango have released the information on their four forthcoming new kits at once. Three of the four new vehicles are 1/8th off-road kits so we simply put them in one news piece. The DNX8 1/8th nitro buggy, the DEX8 1/8th E-buggy and the DEX8T E-truggy are all based on hard anodised 3mm aluminium chassis with a patent pending sliding gear mesh centre bulkhead, a design all four new kits including the DESC10 short course truck share. The design allows for simple engine/motor swaps without disturbing the gear mesh setting. The drivetrain makes use of sturdy steel components including the outdrives, driveshafts and (nitro) main gears while the suspension is of a totally new design compared to the DNX408 and DEX408 vehicles as it feature a front pivotball design and redesigned rear wishbones and hubs. The shock towers are made of hard anodised aluminium as are the threaded 16mm shock absorbers. The front, centre and rear differentials are easily accessible, a design adapted from the previous kits and introduced with the first ever DEX410 buggy. The radio box of the nitro variant is very easily to remove from the car for maintenance and cleaning purposes while the battery tray of the electric-powered cars incorporates a protected receiver box to keep the delicate part away from dust, dirt and moisture. As a novelty all kits come partly assembled with the shocks, diffs, gearboxes and more being already assembled in the factory to cut on building time while securing a certain build quality. More information and educational videos can be found on the dedicated kit sites of the DNX8, DEX8 and DEX8T. Link: Team Durango website Source : Area52
  2. Hi Guys l'm after a brushless motor for my buggy. l'm after around 2000kv range motor and can be new or used (good) condition. Pls pm me. Thanks Onroad
  3. You mean rate mode gyro for drifting.? Heading hold gyros are normally used for speed cars. I bought fake gy401 gyro & on inspection had a massive 15mm wheel nut inside to make it feel the right weight of an original gyro ..
  4. Coming soon from Yokomo is this lightweight chassis conversion kit for the B-Max4 III buggy. Included will be a new and heavily machined aluminium chassis, updated plastic side pods, new front and rear gearbox halves, a new middle layshaft mount as well as several small parts. The goal of the conversion is to allow the use of a 2S shorty LiPo pack over the standard saddle pack configuration. Also the motor will be located in the rear to make for an as-equal-as-possible weight distribution. On top of that the buggy can also be converted back to its normal layout with the benefit of the lighter chassis and updated transmission housings. 5. Italian company Bittydesign announce the soon release of the Striker-SR 3.0 190mm touring car bodyshell. With the popular 2.0 version being designed to be a (13.5T class) stock bodyshell the follow-up model again will be an aggressively stilled offering we guess. And while playing around with Bittydesign's teaser image we found a hidden "easter egg" underneath the black layer in the form of a teaser images showing what we guess is the front of the upcoming 3.0. More information to follow soon! For your reference: The below body is the current Striker-SR 2.0 as used in our VBC Wildfire review. Link: Bittydesign website Source : Area52
  6. New from Japanese company GForce come these Hyper Booster capacitor modules. They are designed for the use with 1S or 2S applications and we understand that they are used in place of the standard capacitor boards found on many brushless speed controllers. The units measure 38x22.1x11mm, they weight in at 18g per piece and are housed in an aluminium case for added rigidity while being easier to place on the chassis compared to somewhat bulky standard boards. 7. JConcepts introduce new high precision wheel nuts that are designed with a large flanged area for additional support against the wheel and serrated for locking security. The large flange and clamping surface area supports the wheel and helps maintain geometry during flex and load with the larger area also provides more footing for the serrated area which provides a more comfortable lock-down. The JConcepts wheel nuts are light-weight and intended for use on the RC10B5, RC10B5M along with most Traxxas vehicles (and most other vehicles that use 4mm nuts to bolt the wheels on). #2341-1 JConcepts 4mm large flange serrated locknut - blue #2341-2 JConcepts 4mm large flange serrated locknut - black Link: JConcepts website Source : Area52
  8. New from RPM comes his heavy duty gear cover for Team Associated's RC10 buggy. Modelled after the iconic RPM original but sporting several improvements such as added clearance in several areas, more space for the pinion gear and the VTS slipper assembly as well as an overall "rounder" appearance the cover can not be mistaken with the 20+ old original but it offers improved usability for "2014" racers. The parts is available in dyeable white only but can easily coloured to match your needs. #70081 RC10, RC10 Classic, & RC10T Molded Gear Cover - Dyeable White Link: RPM RC10 gear cover Source : Area52
  9. Reedy have a new lightweight yet high capacity 7.4V LiPo battery pack available. Sporting standard 139x46x25mm dimensions and being built from high-performance 65C cells the pack weights in at only 276g making it easier to achieve a good left-to-right side balance, compared to the somewhat heavier ultra high capacity packs. The 5000mAh pack, that comes with 4mm connector tubes, still allows for enough runtime even in modified racing while the 65C cells give enough oomph for stock racing too. #316 Reedy LiPo 5000mAh 65C 7.4V Link: Reedy 5000mAh 65C 2S LiPo battery pack Source : Area52
  10. Bittydesign's Charge and Ultra Charge 190mm TC rear wings are now also available in a "hard" version. Made from 1mm polycarbonate the wings are much stronger compared to the standard ones meaning improved durability and increased downforce especially for modified classes. While the Charge is a medium downforce wing the Ultra Charge is designed to maximise downforce thanks to its 40x25mm side places and an increased wing surface. Both downforce enhancers are available now and meant to fit all of today's 190mm touring car bodies. Link: Bittydesign hard touring car wings Source : Area52
  11. Reedy have a new lighter 7.4V square LiPo battery pack available in the form of the 5200mAh 50C SQ pack. Build from somewhat lighter and "slightly lower power output" 50C cells compared to Reedy's top-of-the-foodchain 5700mAh 65C offering, the pack makes for a bit less punch when used with low-turn modified motors leading to a more controllable power output. The SQ pack, that mimics the dimensions of a side-by-side saddle pack, is equipped with 4mm bullet-type connector tubes and a 2mm balancer port. Specifications:
  12. Mugen Seiki soon have the new MBX-7T nitro and MBX-7T Eco electric truggy available. Coming in May, the follow-up models of the current MBX-6 truggy are based off the IFMAR World Championship winning MBX-6 buggy and come with several new or updated parts such as new aluminium shock towers, redesigned radio trays and new low-profile bodyshells. More information and images can be found over at our friends of Red RC. Link: Mugen Seiki website Source : Area52
  13. Available very soon from Kyosho is the SC6 2WD short course kit. Based off the RB6 and RT6 platform the truck features a long 7075 aluminium chassis, RT6-ish A-arms, newly design body mounts and of course the SC6 allows you to run it in mid or rear motor configuration. Like the RT6, Kyosho's latest SC truck comes with aluminium steering parts, long travel aluminium big bore shocks and without bodyshell. Features:
  14. New company Samix introduce their first option part in the form of a chassis conversion kit for the Tamiya TRF418. The kit is based on a 82mm wide and 2.35mm thick carbon fibre chassis that is slightly softer and narrower than the TRF kit part to make for more torsional flex and higher corner speed without having to worry about the chassis plate bottoming out during heavy cornering. Included with the matte-finish chassis is also a blue anodised aluminium steering post stiffener, a blue anodised aluminium floating motor mount, battery positioners and a spring steel layshaft. The kit already prove its performance by making the Modified TC A-main at the recent TITC event in the hands of Nicholas Lee. Samix are currently working on launching their company website and in the meantime you can find more information on their Facebook page. Click here to view more photos Source : Redrc
