  6. True Mervs are weak. I have a stampede and a slash and haven't replaced a single broken part yet on either of them. Yes they need the odd upgrade here and there but that's the point of being in the hobby isn't it lol. This transmission isn't even for a merv?

  10. a ton? just a ton? dunno about you but i reckon there's a lot more than just a ton of threads about this...... as for the question. its simple, your a nitro guy, or your a leccy guy. and depending on what one you are will depend on your standpoint. after having run everything from 1/10 brushed through to 1/5 petrol all i can say is i dont like leccy's. but i've been in far too many arguments to want to force my opinions on those that do. and if i were you i'd leave it at that.

  11. when i was starting, didnt buy a hump pack, i was taking a little jaunt round the car park [aka trying to race a 1/8 buggy against dedicated on roaders]. and i hit a curb, because the batteries werent secure so the battery popped out, and my radio gear decided what it really wanted when it was free was to go for a nice long run across a crowded school playing field at wot, with me running behind it screaming 'stop that car!!!'. good thing nobody tried. it hit a fence, and well you ought to know the rest. that was 5 years ago and i've probably made every other mistake in the book. and i'm still learning, learning every day.

  12. keep it nitro, brushless will kill the diffs straight away, i would'nt invest any money in it, sell it and get something better

  14. I bought an iCharger off them sometime ago (when it was Giant Cod) and that was all fine, but after reading this thread I certainly wont be buying anything from them again. No need, theres pleanty other retailers out there that you can get all you need from that do have good customer services.

  18. personally, brushed motors are still favoured for crawlers, tekin or novak 45t-55t would be the way to go. masses of torque with these too. they really do need the open endbell type motors too, then they can be rebuilt if necessary, (i know a man that makes then run better than when new!) then for a esc, either a tekin fxr, castle do one (cant think of the name) novak rooster crawler or the holmes hobbies brxl which will take 6s lipo. if theres owt you need fella, just ask, if i dont know, i`ll know someone who will!!

  22. Here she is, externally, in all her glory - sorted the switch issue (ie there isn't one lol) so tomorrow's task is to do the wiring, charge the packs and test run (after setting up the esc) and post more piccies..... Anyhoo, enough blabbering: The heart of the beast (cap pack to be secured tomorrow btw...) Graphics are stock HPI (awful to put on), Lethal Threat (a joy to put on), manufacturer and of course, MS Upgrades fitted to the rear - RPM skid plate and bumper mount, essentially takes a 3 piece design, makes it 5 pieces and much more protective, love it! Pitbull RC underflaps - these fill the gap twixt the side bars and shell, simple but should be effective I hope.... Motor and esc live well away under the shell tho.... She is a little on the large size too
