Servos arrived for FW-06 kit. Thought I'd give these AGF servos a try. A50BHL

Fancied a kit to build and not had an on road nitro for a very long time. Never had a Kyosho so went for the FW-06 kit. Just need to decide on some servos and I can get building 😁

High powered? Wasn't us 🙃 Will try get over Marchwood for a look this weekend. Hmm... I can't put a cheap servo next to that combo, that would be sacrilege 😁

Helis are the best part of Rc I've ventured into. Been a good few years since I've flown so basically starting from scratch again. They are awesome fun though. The straps are just about long enough, could do with getting longer ones really. There is that track behind BMW and Knightswood. Knightswood is great but really feel like we shouldn't be there. Especially when there is loads of us. The old freespace is pretty much abandoned. There is only half pipe and a little box left in the skate park section. Track is overgrown but you can still launch the cars over the jumps. I did post a video of doing a few jumps there. Think it was in this thread. I'll bump the old Southampton Bashers thread and post in there where we are going and when over the weekends. I look at servos but just cannot choose one. Loads of brands I've not seen before. I'll have to do some research. I'm am really loving this little truck. It has taken everything I have thrown at it so far. Stock arms and hinge pins still in good shape. Got RPM's ready to go on, probably end up fitting those before I break a stock ones Edit: Just scrolled up and saw the pictures I posted. I really need to tidy the cables. Looks dreadful.

I've dipped in and out over the last god knows how many years. MT10 is my first new Rc in a while. Getting back into flying helis as well. Just got a little one to pierce the ground with. Mine are 7000mAh and fit with plenty room to spare. My boys got cars for Xmas and just fixed up one for my daughter. Brother in laws also got new cars and so have thier children so loads of us blasting about on the weekends. Last couple of weekends we have been going to a BMX track in Chandlers Ford. Looking for somewhere else to go as it gets busy up there. Years ago we used to go to a place in Marchwood near the recycling center. Looking to maybe go back there as we could run the nitro and petrol stuff without issue. Is he! Thats awesome, yes we should definitely meet up. Wonder if @G-RATs-Savage is still in the game? Will make a post in the meetups section. Yes it certainly rips, could gear it up a bit without issue but ill wait to see how temps are in the warmer weather. It is plenty fast enough as it is. Need to choose a nice servo for it now.

Little update on my MT10. Getting the new motor to fit required a little fettling. Motor bolts where ground down to around 4.5mm of thread. Also the little cover that goes over the spur/pinion needed a little trim to clear the pinion. Actually had to set the mesh with a piece of paper. Not done that in a long time. Not the best choice of pinion but it works and I've not killed the spur. The motor fits perfectly in the recess. Motor wires are ridiculously long. Reluctant to shorten them incase this combo ends up in a different model. The Mamba X fits nicely in the chassis. See how long the switch actually works for Combo is super smooth, first sensored system I've had in an off-road Rc. Power = ridiculous! No more waiting for it, it's there instantly. Not changed much on the ESC setting wise. Upped BEC voltage to 6v, turned brake down to 40%. First run it was at 50% and was nosedive city whilst jumping. Running a 13T pinion on 3s and it is plenty fast enough. Checked the data logging after first run and ESC max temp was 62c. Motor was 40c. Chuffed

Yo dtokez! Just getting back into it or never left? Hope you're well mate. MT10 is my first new Rc in a while. I've squeezed some old 3s Turnigy 5000mAh in mine. Recently got a pair of HRB's from Amazon while they where on offer. Seem to perform fine even though they arrived at 2.2v per cell. My brother in law runs Zeee LiPo's also available on Amazon and they seem to work fine for him. I'll probably buy a pair of Zeee's to try as I need to replace some old LiPo's. Going to switch to all hardcase.

She has just come downstairs and the first thing she said was "How's the car"? She is beaming, even complemented how tidy it is 😁

Received new combo for my MT10 this week. Mamba X, 1412 3200kv. My pathetic camera is not doing this motor and ESC any justice. Old motor vs new. The motor will just fit in the recess in the chassis, just. The motor bolts are too long so I'll be cutting those down tomorrow morning.

Got the Rustler refreshed for my daughter. This will be her first Rc. Completely stripped, replaced all bearings, steering kingpins, one shock shaft, diff and gearbox rebuilt, brushed motor and ESC replaced. I did buy some other new parts but just shimmed the play out of the driveshafts and swapped them around so they wear the other side. I'll replace at a later date.

I didn't want to keep plugging into the back of the Tx, will just wear the port out. With the dongle I can also stand. I'm using AccuRC 2. I had neXt years ago but I've lost my key for it

Some XT30's for my M2 Evo. These things are tiny! Going to make an adaptor cable to charge the LiPo's as I don't want to solder these tiny things to my chargers balance board. Wireless dongle for my NX8. Not fond of being on a cable whilst being on the flight sim. New combo for the MT10 - Mamba X - 1412 3200kv motor. 13T 5mm bore pinion.

Will see how long they last. Most likely some damage has been done to the cells dropping that low. I'll update once I get a few cycles through them. Strange if that is why. Once a cell drops below 3v some science happens and the result is possibility of lost capacity, cycle life, cells not recovering. Fire. Didn't even get to really run the first cycle through them, my ESC keeps cutting out so handed it over to my son to drain for me.

Anybody else have issues with the included ESC hitting thermal cutoff? Been out the last couple of days and I drive for five minutes and I loose power. The ESC will flash green when I apply throttle. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and it will go again for a few more minutes. Repeat. I changed my Rx as I thought it was that because I had issues with it in another model. Bought brand new Rx, still the same. Tried a different Tx and Rx, still the same. Bit pants so I'm shopping for a new combo.

Little update. Got round to soldering my preferred connectors to the two LiPo's I bought. Put them on the charger to check cell voltage.... Both where around the same. 2.2v a cell. Put them on a quick NiMh charge to bring the voltage up so I could actually balance charge them. Both recovered fine.

First heli for a long time. Cannot wait to crash fly it!

Oh I could see the car, sometimes it's only 10ft away. I'll find out when I next take the MT10 out.

The Rx I put in the MT10 seems to cut out sometimes. Had the same issue with it before, at least I think it's the Rx. If it still happens it's new Tx time.

Few deliveries today. Bag for the LiPo's. Impact driver and some bits. Mostly be used for Rc stuff but I'll use it around the house instead of the combi. New receiver and spares for MT10, EDS hex bits for impact driver, spare glow plug for Savage and all the parts to start the rebuild for the Rustler.

I was surprised the nitro was still usable more than anything. Checking it over I noticed one of the engine bolts was a little loose so will red threadlock all of them.

Pulled the Savage from the loft last week. Most of the bolt heads are looking a little sorry for themselves with some surface rust. Other than that everything seems ok. Today I put a fresh glow plug in and some fuel that has been sat in the shed for god knows how long and attempted to start it. Much to my surprise the engine fired up after a handful of pulls! Put half a tank through it just doing circles on the patio and letting it idle. Damn I've missed that smell Will give it a good check over and if it's not to wet on the weekend I'll be taking it out to give it a tune and put a couple of tanks through it.
