Recommend me some tyres…

Recommended Posts

Looking for a set of 1.9’s around 120mm tall, for mud and wet roots, I’m a bit of out of touch with what’s available at the moment, also I don’t really want to be paying £70 for a set of 4…….

These look great, but I don’t want to be wasting my money

I used to hate Injora tyres, but they have upped their game.

I recently bought some of these...

https://www.injora.com/products/injora-swamp-claw-1-9-m-t-tires-4-120-42mm

They are very grippy for rocks and as a trail tyre.

The other tyres I use and rate highly are...

https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/fastrax-110-crawler-rocko-19-scale-tyres-inserts-2-1330583

I've got several sets of those tyres and trust me, they are good all round.

I've had loads of more expensive tyres and they aren't worth it. You are paying for a brand name, or scale looks ( I get the scale look thing.

I rate jconcepts ruptures highly, a very good tyre for crawling but also a good trail tyre.

The kraken claw tyres are very good too. I have recently put a set on my Trx4 defender, same compound as the other injora tyres I mentioned, very sticky.

I'm pretty sure the kraken claw are a few mil taller.

I fitted the kraken claws to my injora rock buggy and find them excellent, a lot better than the super swampers i origionally fitted . They are quite tall though

I also have a set of the injora comp pins, that seem to be unstoppable, handling mud, roots, wet and dry rock with impunity., only slight downside is they do not look as scale as chunky tyres, but perform far better 😀

I respect people who have their own thoughts in their heads. There’s simply no adding or subtracting here. Keep up the good work as they say. This is already normal, wow. I can't even imagine this. I'm just getting goosebumps right now. I also sometimes use this but not as often as I would like. Everything has its own rules. In general, I like your opinion. That's how it should be!

Axial SCX10 II BF Goodrich Krawler T/A KX 1.9": These tires have an aggressive design and good grip on mud and wet surfaces. They also offer good value for money.

I’m long out of the 1/10 scale stuff now.

cant comment on the Injora 1.9” tyres but the 1.0” micro tyres are good if you can get them seated properly.

i know you dont want to spend that kind of money but….the Pit bull 1.9” Rock Beast xl tyres ive had for a fair time on the trx4 and they have always been nothing short of epic!!

wet or dry conditions, they just bite in and carry on…..

I ended up with the tyres I linked, they seem decent and I’ll be testing them tomorrow morning. I’m going to pick up a set of Rocko’s for my spare set of rims when they come back into stock 👍

I have found the more budget tyres like from Injora dont seem to give there best till they have had a few runs, a bit of breaking in
