Stupar's Carisma SCA-1E 76 Ford F150 farm truck

After successfully building a scale Carisma 76 Ford F150 last year i'm back again with a new Carisma build.

This time scale isn't as much of a focal point but a hint of realism will still be present in the build.

I'm going to be working on a 313mm WB this time so watch this space for a progress updates 👍

no doubt it will be a stunning build, ineed to sort an interior and driver figure for my F-150

Cheers mate.

I think there are 3D print interiors which can be resized to fit the Carisma F150.

As for drivers, look for 7 inch figures, they scale nicely against the truck.

Small update on my build.

I'm still waiting on my 90mm shocks to be dispatched (stock shortage in the UK but should have them next week.

In the meantime it's beadlock build time.

I do love my RC4WD wheels and tyres.

This time round I've gone for 1.55 stamped steel wheels and Interco TSL Super Swamper tyres.

Swapped out the stock hubs for disc brake versions and some scale lug nuts to boot!

those shocks look great!

In terms of wheel base amendment, do you just do that via the suspension link rods?

Cheers dude.

Yeah most wheelbase adjustments can be done just by altering the length of the suspension links or using longer rod ends if you are extending.

Another incremental update this week on the 313.
As most know I am OCD about scale details and whilst the Carisma stock driveshafts are bullet proof the're not very scale looking.

So the 313 is rolling on Lesu scale driveshafts.
These are brilliant because not only do they look good but they also fit the stock Carisma diff output shafts.

Lesu driveshafts are aimed at the Tamiya big rig guys and they are super fussy for details 😉 do if its good enough for their scale needs then its good enough for me 😀

Big thanks to elitemodelsonline.co.uk for super swift delivery as always 👍🏻

That is amazing. 👋 Did you do all the metal work on the bed yourself?

Well as much as I would love to take credit for the metal fab work I can't.

The bed is actually made by King Kong RC for the zil trucks so it's all their doing.

  • stupar changed the title to Stupar's Carisma SCA-1E 76 Ford F150 farm truck

Today's escapade -

Install the new 2.1 transmission using the conversion kit offered by Carisma.

Dubbed as the ATT (anti torque twist) transmission, it should help eliminate the truck cooking a leg like a dog under heavy acceleration.

I'd be keen to know what you think of this setup once you're up and running.  My kit doesn't have the ATT, but then the idea of it lifting a wheel under hard acceleration makes the hooligan in me smirk a bit.

Made some progress with the electrics recently.

Installed a Carisma ARC 2 ESC and Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster 540 16T motor.

Because of the rest bed my electronics are confined to the middle of the truck.

Not to worry, I got a friend to 3D print a couple of boards that use the existing rock slider brackets- net result is ESC goes one side and the receiver will go on the other.

It all looks neat and tidy now.

Edit- since this photo was taken I have connected the ESC motor wires direct to the motor itself.

That's a good idea.. I was going to mount my electronics on the rear tray in my Coyote but I think I like there better.  Might get some project boxes and see if I can do something similar.
